It was the first day at school. It was nine o’clock. All the pupils were in the classroom. They knew they had a new teacher - Miss Chatter.

After the bell Miss Chatter came into the room. She was kind and nice.

“Good morning, children,” she said and smiled. The lesson began. But the pupils didn’t do what their new teacher said. They spoke loudly and ran in the classroom.

Suddenly it became dark and very cold for a minute.

The pupils sat still at their desks and looked at Miss Chatter.

Their new teacher took Oliver’s pen, looked at it and said: “Three, two, one!” The blue pen became red and turned into a nice red umbrella. Miss Chatter took the umbrella and touched Oliver’s chair. The chairs began to dance with the children sitting on them. Oliver was happy. All pupils laughed. Soon all the chairs and the pupils danced in the classroom.

Miss Chatter opened the umbrella and the rain of sweets began. The pupils were surprised but happy. “It’s great!” Oliver said.

In the second lesson Miss Chatter and her pupils counted white rabbits and black kittens

in the classroom, read stories about whales, talked with the goldfish. Children answered her questions, drew on the walls of the classroom and learned funny poems by heart. The pupils had a good time. They enjoyed Miss Chatter’s lessons.

The next morning Oliver, Ann and their classmates ran to school. But there was a different teacher in the classroom - a new teacher.

“Where’s Miss Chatter?” asked Ann.

“Who?”

“Our teacher - Miss Chatter!” answered Oliver.

“I don’t know Miss Chatter. Let’s begin our lesson,” said the new teacher.

The children were sad. But Oliver saw Miss Chatter’s red umbrella in the left corner of the classroom. He smiled.

Laura and Catherine didn’t want to go camping. They didn’t want to sleep in a tent, or eat roots or drink dirty water from a river. All they wanted was to be home in their nice warm beds, with no bugs, wild animals, or dirt on the ground. But they had to walk along the forest path together with their mum and dad. They had crossed a river and now their socks and shoes were wet. It was terrible! They were so tired, they wanted to eat and sleep.

At last, they stopped for the night. Dad set up the tents and made a fire, then he caught some fish in the river for supper. The sisters didn’t like fish very" much but they had to eat it because they were very hungry. After supper, the girls pulled their wet clothes off, and put on their nice clean pyjamas.

“Mum, it’s uncomfortable to sleep in a tent,” said Laura.

The girls wanted to fall asleep but they couldn’t.

“What’s that noise?” Catherine asked.

“HOO! HOO! HOO!”

“EEEEEEEP screamed the two sisters. Mum and Dad jumped out of their tent. “There’s a monster in that tree!” screamed Laura.

Dad laughed. “It’s only an owl. Now go back to sleep, please!”

“CROAK! CROAK! CROAK!”

“EEEEEEE!” screamed the girls.

“That’s just a frog. It won’t hurt you. Please go to sleep, girls"!” Mum said.

Later that night, Laura woke up again. She looked outside the tent and saw a big shadow. She screamed again, “EEEEEEE! Dad! Help!”

“Girls, it’s only me,” Mum said. “It was cold so I went to get another blanket out of my backpack.”

The next morning, the girls felt a little silly about the night before.

“We’re sorry, Mum, Dad. We were like babies,” said the sisters.

“It’s all right, girls,” Dad said. “At least tonight you won’t be scared because you know what those noises are.”

They hiked a long way that day and were tired. The girls happily dimed into their tent and dad wished everyone “good night”.

“HISSSSSSSSS!”

Some time ago the British had very difficult money system. There were twelve pence in a shilling and twenty shillings in a pound. It means that they had more than one hundred pence in one pound. Leonardo da Vinci

When they hear the name Leonardo da Vinci, most people think of his famous painting, Mona Lisa. This picture is in an art gallery in Paris, and it is visited by millions of tourists every year.

But Leonardo wasn"t just a painter. He was also a talented inventor, engineer, architect and sculptor. He was full of new and exciting ideas.

Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 at his father"s country home near the town of Vinci in Italy. He spent his childhood surrounded by the wonders of nature, perhaps watching animals and insects that were all around him.

Leonardo was hungry for knowledge. He studied the world around him and drew the things he saw. He read everything he could find, listened to other people"s ideas, and made notes of the things he learned. Some of his notebooks were as large as wall posters, and others were small enough to carry in his pocket. Many have been lost, but some of them were published in the 1800s and can be seen today.

Although he was full of new ideas, Leonardo didn"t build many of his inventions. One of his notebooks includes a drawing of a person with a parachute. Only 300 years later, in 1783, a Frenchman became the first person who made and used a parachute.

Leonardo did lots of drawings of arms and legs and other parts of the body and he designed a mechanical man - a robot! This robot could sit up, wave its arms, move its head and open and close its mouth.

Leonardo da Vinci died in 1519. He was truly a man ahead of his time.

Robot technologies in our home

here are lots of science fiction books and films about robots. Nice and humanlike metal and plastic creatures often become children’s friends there. Robots learn how to distinguish between good and evil, and how to become a friend to a human being. To our surprise and delight we find out that robots are able to experience feelings - they can feel happy, upset, and even angry. (1). They can even risk their life, (2), for someone they love.

Is artificial intellect a pure fantasy or are there any scientific discoveries behind this idea? (3) What we know for sure is that robotics is a rapidly developing technology, and soon we can expect robots to enter our houses and stay there for a long time. Pets create a very special atmosphere at home, they add to the feeling of coziness and safety. You need also to be aware that the pet requires everyday care and that you may find it monotonous and boring.

(4) Milagres, an Australian koala, could be considered a lucky one as she got to the zoo in time for the vets to save her. A European tourist had illegally exported her from Australia, as he was obsessed with the idea of keeping that cute animal in his backyard. “I was going to plant a Eucalyptus tree in my back garden, and I thought that keeping a koala wouldn’t be such a problem”, explained he later. That was a dangerous misconception. (5) It can’t digest hard and thick eucalyptus leaves, and that’s why you need to have from one to six hundred eucalyptus trees to keep your koala happy and healthy. The number of trees depends on the climate - the more humid the climate is, the fewer trees you need (within the range given above). (6)

Little koala Milagres exemplifies a big problem caused by ignorant pet owners. Wild animals are neither toys nor interior design accessories and putting them in a wrong environment makes them suffer and eventually kills them.

One of the greatest advances in modern technology has been the invention of computers. They help us, fascinate us and occasionally scare us. The latest fear concerns children and computers. Some experts claim that brothers and sisters are starting to play more with computers than with one another, and that computers are distancing children from their parents.

Walking round a toyshop you find a home computer game to satisfy any child"s violent imagination. Adult computer addicts are familiar figures: pale people who sit in front of green screens hour after hour. That is their choice. But the idea of a child living in front of a flashing green screen is somehow less acceptable. Canadian child psychologist Jams-Norton explains: These are children with few friends, afraid of making conversation. They are children who are usually allowed to do what they want. They cannot concentrate for long periods of time except in front of the screen. If the computer games they play are violent," she adds, "they become indifferent to violence faster than they would through watching violent videos."

A frightening picture starts to appear. Jams-Norton sees a good number of troubled children. They usually persuade their parents to buy them a computer by saying it "will help their education." Computers, after all, are a central part of education today. Some educationalists enthusiastically look forward to the day when every child will have a personal computer in the class room and the class teacher will be nothing but a technician. That is not particularly appealing either, although with the current lack of teachers someone may soon decide it makes good economic sense. Janis-Norton disapproves of such an attitude, it is relationships with the teacher and the other pupils that make you learn."

We may be at a sort of crossroads. It is a question of whether we use the machines wisely or stupidly in bringing up children. "The computer," says the child psychologist, "is only a surface problem but the real problem is not computers. It is parents who have forgotten how to be parents, or don"t have the confidence. Helen was a very successful businesswoman. She had always liked nice clothes, and when she had left school she had gone and worked in a shop which sold them, not far from her home. So when she had to go to the next fashion show, which was in Rome, she stayed at a very good hotel. She bad a nice big room with beautiful furniture in which she could entertain customers, and there were also fine public room where she could, with her great pride; hold small fashion shows of her own. The room service was excellent, and so was the dining-room, which had a band every evening for dancing. Helen had never before dared to stay in such a splendid place.

She could see from the bills she signed for everything that the prices in the hotel were high, but she was rather surprised when just before she left, she was given a bill of several pages, written on beautiful headed paper.

Во исполнение приказа министерства образования, науки и молодёжной политики Краснодарского края от 21.09.2017года №3913 «О проведении оценки качества подготовки обучающихся общеобразовательных организаций Краснодарского края в 2017-2018 учебном году» проведен мониторинг качества знаний обучающихся 7 классов по английскому языку образовательных учреждений Ейского района.

Цель : установление уровня обученности, выполнения требований Государственного образовательного стандарта и отслеживание качества знаний учащихся.

Мониторинг проведен в форме краевой диагностической работы (4 варианта) по контрольно-измерительным материалам, разработанным специалистами ГБОУ ИРО Краснодарского края.

В мониторинговом исследовании приняли участие 1062 обучающихся 7-х классов ОУ Ейского района.

Из выполнявших справились 876 учащихся, что составляет 82,5%; не справились с работой 186 учащихся, что составляет 17,5%. На «4» и «5» выполнили работу 206 учащихся, что составляет 19,4%, на «3» выполнили работу 670 учащихся, что составляет 63,1%.

Анализ содержания краевой диагностической работы

Работа состояла из 4 вариантов и имела следующую структуру:

Раздел 1 «Аудирование» включает Задание 1 на понимание основного содержания текстов.

Раздел 2 «Чтение»: Задания 2 и Задания 3-10 -на понимание прочитанных текстов.

Раздел 3 «Грамматика и лексика»: Задания 11-24 включают в себя лексико-грамматические задания, предполагающие краткий ответ.

Аудирование

В задании контрольной работы проверялось умение понимать на слух основное содержание текстов и умение понимать в прослушанных текстах запрашиваемую информацию. С данным заданием 1 справилось 22,28 % учащихся.

Результаты по разделу 1 свидетельствуют о том, что большая часть участников не справилась с заданиями. У учащихся не сформированы умения понимать запрашиваемую информацию в прослушиваемом тексте.

Чтение

В разделе 2: «Чтение» проверялось умение читать текст с пониманием основного содержания; умение понимать в прочитанном тексте запрашиваемую информацию.

С целью выполнения поставленной задачи учащимся было предложено задание 2 и задания 3–10 . Полученные данные по результатам выполнения контрольной работы в этом разделе позволяют проанализировать уровень сформированности вышеперечисленных умений.

Средний процент выполнивших задание 2 – 21,1 %, средний процент выполнивших задания 3–10 составил 45,21 %. Задание заключалось в следующем: нужно было прочитать текст и определить, какие из приведённых утверждений соответствуют содержанию текста, какие не соответствуют и о чём в тексте не сказано. Средний процент выполнения раздела 2 составил 33,16%.

Результаты по разделу 2 в задании 2 критически низкие, результаты задания 3-10 примерно в два раза выше, но остаются на низком уровне .

Грамматика и лексика

Задачей заданий в разделе «Грамматика и лексика» являлась проверка уровня сформированности навыка у учащихся использовать языковые единицы в коммуникативном контексте.

С целью выполнения поставленной задачи в раздел «Грамматика и лексика» были включены два задания:

1) проверяющее грамматические навыки (Задания 11–16);

2) проверяющее лексические навыки (Задания 17–24) .

Средний процент выполнивших задания 11–16 составил 53,33 %; средний процент выполнивших задания 17–24 составил 34,48 %. Средний процент выполнения раздела 3 составил 43,9%.

Результаты по разделу 3 тоже показали низкий уровень обученности.

Задания раздела «Аудирование» оказались наиболее сложными для учащихся.

Необходимо учить школьников внимательно читать задания. Следует использовать различные стратегии работы со звучащим/напечатанным текстом в зависимости от поставленной коммуникативной задачи: с пониманием основного содержания или с поиском запрашиваемой информации (разделы «Задания по аудированию» и «Задания по чтению»). При этом необходимо учитывать, что в тексте (звучащем/печатном) основная мысль выражена иным образом (с помощью синонимов), чем в тексте задания;

В заданиях на нахождение запрашиваемой информации учащиеся должны уметь выделять запрашиваемую информацию и игнорировать ненужную (второстепенную). В заданиях по чтению (10–17) важно, чтобы учащиеся понимали разницу между ответами False (неверно) и Not Stated (в тексте не сказано). Ответ False (неверно) означает, что утверждение противоречит информации, представленной в тексте. Ответ Not Stated (в тексте не сказано) свидетельствует о том, что в тексте ничего не говорится по этому поводу. Выбирая ответ, необходимо исходить только из информации, представленной в прочитанном тексте, и не пользоваться общими знаниями по теме, затронутой в тексте, или опираться на своё мнение;

Стоит приучать учащихся внимательно читать текст, который необходимо восстановить (раздел «Задания по лексике»); находить в предложениях слова-маркеры, которые подскажут употребление нужного слова;

В целях оптимизации подготовки к КДР рекомендуется организовывать процесс обучения по следующим направлениям:

развитие коммуникативной компетенции (владение английским языком);

овладение стратегиями разного рода аудирования и чтения, а также стратегиями выполнения заданий на контроль грамматических и лексических навыков.

Администрации школ:

Усилить контроль проведения уроков английского языка, дополнительных занятий в данной параллели.
