How to send a message into space. ABC - a message to the Slavs. year. Arecibo's Message

The body begins to age at the moment when the level of vital energy drops so much that it is not enough to support physiological processes, and some of them are switched off, as a result of which biological systems begin to go out of balance.

In a person, with age, the blood supply to some organ may deteriorate, which will initially lead to a decrease in its activity and will not lead to pathologies. However, differences in the performance of different organs will lead to deviations at the level of the entire organism, as inconsistencies in their work will appear.

Insufficient activity of the heart leads to stagnation of fluid in other organs and muscles, as well as to a deterioration in their blood supply. Deterioration of kidney function can lead to intoxication of the body with metabolic by-products that will not be excreted. Low productivity of the lungs leads to a general lack of energy and anemia, which also leads to a lack of resources for the functioning of other organs. The human body is a complex chain of relationships, the elements of which are biological organs, and a change in the functioning of any of them affects the entire system. To ensure a sufficient level of activity, it is necessary to maintain a delicate balance between all components, and the violation of this complex picture leads to the accumulation of contradictions and sooner or later leads to breakdown.

The human body has many ways to maintain internal balance, since all organs are interconnected, and a temporary weakening of the activity of one organ can be compensated by the activation of other parts of the body. If the heart has decreased its activity, then the body can switch to a more economical mode, thereby not creating an imbalance. If a blood vessel is injured or clogged, then the blood begins to move along parallel branches, and thus the gentle regime of this vessel is maintained, allowing it to recover. When the body is poisoned, the liver, oversaturated with harmful substances, experiences overload, and to support this organ, the body switches to a new diet, removing fatty and high-calorie substances from its diet, the digestion of which depends primarily on the activity of the liver.

Thus, the body has enough tools to maintain internal balance, which allows it to keep all systems in a harmonious relationship and resolve contradictions. If none of the organs is out of step with the general regime, then aging does not occur, because aging is a consequence of a significant breakdown of one of the biological systems. From this point of view, it becomes unclear why aging and subsequent physical death have become a natural process leading to the end of the life of every person.

The aging process is artificial and imposed on the physical body, and it occurs due to the imposition of external energy fields on internal physiological processes. The human body is literally forced to grow old, this is done due to the disharmonious energetic conditions in which a person or other biological being has to exist. The external energy environment in its parameters does not correspond to the internal environment of the body, and this discrepancy leads to a gradual deviation of biological processes from the norm.

Since a person constantly exists in this environment, he does not notice the undesirable effects, and aging, which is the result of an imbalance, is considered a natural pattern. However, the artificiality of this phenomenon can be traced by comparing the conditions in which people live in different parts of the planet, in which the pressure of the energy fields of the system differs in intensity. We are talking not only about the social system, but also about the natural one, through its phenomena influencing all biological organisms inhabiting the surface of the Earth.

In large cities, the main source of distortion is electromagnetic fields, which, influencing the activity of the nervous system, keep brain cells in constant tension, and such excessive tone is transmitted through nerve endings to other organs. In the natural environment, the analogue of man-made stress is harsh weather conditions, and people facing these difficulties also wear out their bodies, aging even faster than residents of megacities. However, much depends on how accustomed the body is to certain conditions. If several generations of people live in the same conditions, then their bodies adapt to external influences, and it ceases to play a negative role. Moreover, external fields become an additional force maintaining balance, as the body begins to rely on certain energy rhythms and climatic conditions, building its internal processes taking into account these external influences.

The positive trend of the harmonious influence of external factors on a person’s life can be easily noticed if we consider the lifestyle of any person living like their ancestors. People living in Africa feel most comfortable on their continent, and when moving to other territories they experience not only social pressure, but are also exposed to unusual diseases and climate impacts. At first glance, the life expectancy of such people often increases compared to the life span of aborigines, which is associated with the possibilities of modern medicine available in more developed countries, where such people go to work. However, extending life through medications is an artificial process that only delays the aging process and temporarily removes its symptoms, but sooner or later the body gives up, as it is unable to exist under constant energy pressure, which is unusual for a person who has moved to the city.

The main criterion by which one can evaluate whether internal processes are out of balance is a decrease in the level of emotional vibrations. If we compare the emotional state in which an African resident lives in his territories and a migrant who has made his life more civilized, then preference should be given to the former. However, the question may arise: why then can a person living for a long time on the land of his ancestors not be able to significantly extend his physical life?

Part of the reason lies in the pressure of natural factors, because being in nature a person has to survive, acting in very strict programs similar to biological instincts, and such a life keeps a person in fairly low vibrations. In addition, many natives die prematurely in order to be reincarnated faster, that is, they prematurely start the aging process for the sake of their own renewal. Such people feel the gradual penetration of the fields of modern civilization into their lives, the vibrations of which enslave perception, making their emotions more ponderous and inflexible. In order to maintain emotional balance at the level of the entire tribe, such people make a compromise and deliberately shorten their physical life in order to be in high vibrations most of the time. By imposing restrictions on individual life, representatives of such a tribe make their people freer at the state level. Thus, the short life span of people who support ancestral traditions is a forced measure taken by them subconsciously, for the sake of preserving the capabilities of their people.

Compared to the aborigines, city residents no longer maintain their original traditions, and are almost completely captured by the trends of modern civilization. Such people leading a progressive lifestyle extend their existence using artificial methods that do not affect the emotional state and can only temporarily support the biological body. Pacemakers help the heart perform its physical function, but the vibrations in which this organ is located are not taken into account. Athletes fed on steroids activate rapid muscle growth, but do not pay attention to the stress in which their body is injured by too rapid muscle growth. Any medical drug that forces the physical body to perform a certain process has a similar effect, without taking into account the general condition.

Modern medicines literally capture vital energy and direct it in the required direction, which makes it possible to effectively raise the tone of a certain organ or cope with a disease. This does not take into account the complex chain of cause-and-effect relationships of the entire biological system. Artificial drugs take a single link out of context and strengthen it, but at the same time other links are deprived of energetic support and are deactivated. Such local enhancement can lead to subsequent deviations that have to be eliminated with other drugs that also solve a particular problem and do not maintain the overall balance. As a result, the body is in constant stress, feeling how any impact deprives it of a support point and forces it to resist, but at the same time it is unable to cope with this biochemical influence. It can be said that modern medicine constantly proves to the physical body that it is not capable of solving its problems on its own, which detracts from a person’s inner confidence and makes him dependent on the benefits of civilization that artificially support his life.

At first glance, every single influence on a person from the side of the social system gives a positive and obvious effect, which is manifested in freedom from disease and in the general extension of physical life. However, by depriving the human body of support points, the system literally takes it for its own use, making it a tool in its hands and not allowing a person to consciously use his capabilities. Increasing the life span of modern people is an unnatural process, and each person is a captive object for research undertaken by the system. The main result that the system strives for is to break the will of a person and force him to transfer his physical body for her personal use.

It may seem that the system cares about the well-being of the person, but the question arises - what exactly is being supported in this case?

The system, of course, contributes to the existence of the biological body, but not the person living in it and manifesting itself at the level of the emotional body, that is, in the form of feelings filling the physical organism. To understand how much the biological body is the property of modern people, you need to pay attention to their emotional state. The decrease in the level of vibrations that occurs over the years is evidence that the human body, which was initially his property, comes into use of the system, but the system, not knowing how to handle the delicate structure of this device, quickly disables it. In fact, the system is not capable of harmoniously maintaining the structure of the human biological body, and it is much easier for it to ensure its vital activity with the help of more primitive programs, devoid of manifestations of life characteristic of humans.

We are talking about replacing organs with their artificial counterparts, made using electronic microcircuits, the functions of which are similar to biological tissues, but their structure and properties are sharply different from real organs. Electronics is a form of existence of physical matter that is under the total control of external fields through which they are controlled. If the maintenance of the physical body occurs by replacing organs with electronic analogues, then a person will become a completely controlled creature and will lose the remnants of internal freedom.

Not only medicine, but also any electronic devices used by people are actively pushing humanity toward this outcome, since they replace a person’s own body capabilities. The pressure of modern civilization is aimed at making a person surrender to the mercy of man-made fields and float limply with the flow of his life, not showing initiative and relying on the opportunities that are provided to him.

Looking from the outside at the life of an average person, one can assume that he has already given up, since he does not strive to resist artificial conditions. The only discrepancy is that an organism existing in greenhouse conditions begins to get sick and dies even earlier than a person living in nature. The reason is that city residents subconsciously resist the grip that is being applied to them through electromagnetic fields, and although they are forced to agree to unnatural methods of maintaining their lives, sooner or later they provoke a malfunction at the level of the entire organism in order to free themselves from the energy trap.

The combination of all methods of man-made influence on a person creates a closed space around him, from which it is almost impossible to escape, and over time people are deprived of their last opportunities for liberation. Even a century ago, people had the opportunity to retire to nature, which, although it put pressure on them with its conditions, allowed them to remain free at the state level. Such a life was lived by many yogis and hermits who deliberately subjected themselves to physical tests, since due to this they were distracted from the thoughts of persecuting civilized people and avoided the influence of social fields. Currently, this tool, which consists of placing oneself in extreme conditions, is still effective, but its effectiveness decreases due to the parallel impact on the human body of electromagnetic fields, the intensity of which has increased significantly. Wherever a yogi or a hermit is, his consciousness is exposed to radiation coming from satellites and cell phone towers, the influence of which spreads everywhere. Therefore, the life of people living in the wild differs less and less from living conditions in big cities, and modern man literally has nowhere to hide.

Most people, feeling the hopelessness of the situation, subconsciously launch a process of self-destruction, disabling the physical body and allowing their consciousness to free itself from the limitations of a particular incarnation. Reincarnating again, a person lives through a period of childhood and adolescence during which an excess of vital energy allows him not to notice external conventions and to be in a fairly harmonious state. However, the young man does not notice how his body constantly resists external conditions, and gradually the supply of vital energy runs out, turning every step forward into a real test.

As a result, a mature person acts more cautiously than before, and in old age he limits himself from many interests, feeling a lack of strength to achieve his desired goals. At some point, a person begins to feel that this embodiment has exhausted itself, since the set of available opportunities no longer corresponds to real needs. Of course, a person can live to maintain the physical body, and the system provides him with the necessary nutrition and medicines that prolong his life. However, all this makes life completely mechanical and conditioned by the influence of external factors, and the person himself, who is the sensory filling of the physical body, ceases to exist.

Faced with a similar situation, some people choose to continue their physical life, while their being falls asleep in the depths of the body, waiting for this incarnation to finally end and death to come, triggering the process of renewal. Such a life can turn out to be very long when a person outwardly maintains a high level of activity due to the support of the system, while fulfilling strict tasks transferred to him by egregors that ensure his life processes.

Such artificial life extension is typical for many politicians, public figures and high-class specialists who find themselves needed by the system to ensure its operation. As soon as such people fulfill their mission and retire, their body immediately experiences breakdown due to the lack of external support, since egregors, which previously fed energy to individual physiological processes, disconnect the human body from the energy source.

Another outcome chosen by most people is to die at a time when the set of available opportunities is significantly narrowed due to a lack of energy resources. In this case, despite the healthy lifestyle of such a person and external well-being, the body can force death by initiating a serious and incurable disease. In addition, the liberation of a person from the shackles of a separate incarnation can be achieved through an accident, which makes it possible to easily interrupt the cause-and-effect relationships that are an external obstacle.

From this point of view, death befalling people is a favorable phenomenon, since it allows a person to restart the process of his life, again feeling a surge of strength in the young years of the next incarnation. However, such a positive attitude towards death is not typical for people, and in everyday life there is a negative view, according to which death personifies all the troubles that can befall an individual. This distorted perception of death causes people to cling to a specific embodiment, which ultimately leads to the development of artificial methods of prolonging life.

It is worth noting that traditional medicine, used by different peoples several centuries ago, had a completely different character compared to current healing methods. Any medications used in the past were aimed at improving the emotional state and helping to raise the level of vital energy. These internal changes allowed the body to independently cope with any physical illness. In fact, healers of the past left the sick person a choice - to be cured and continue incarnation, or to use the disease as a chance to free himself.

This approach helped people stay in fairly light vibrations that balanced the turbulent events that filled the world in ancient times and the Middle Ages. During the Renaissance and modern times, the process of urbanization gained momentum, scientific and technological progress also influenced medicine, making it a stronghold of technology. As a result, medicine began to develop towards eradicating the symptoms of the disease, but depriving a person of his own choice, it makes him more dependent on the system.

This situation leads to the fact that in modern times new diseases appear, which medicine is not yet able to cope with, and are ways for people to freely die. These diseases include cancer and AIDS, as well as many completely new viral diseases that may appear in the near future. The reason for the occurrence of such dangerous infections and pathologies is the reaction of the human body to the impact of man-made fields, which has intensified due to the rapid spread of cellular communications.

Computer devices also have an impact, drawing a person’s perception into virtual reality and imperceptibly capturing his consciousness, which becomes a significant complication for the smooth completion of the incarnation. A person trapped in virtual reality risks being stuck between lives, and even when his physical body ceases to exist, his consciousness will continue to travel to the astral worlds in which he lived during his life, watching colorful films or playing computer games.

Perhaps the fascination with virtual reality allows some people to forget themselves and not feel discomfort due to the lack of opportunities for development, but subconsciously they feel the threat of the inability to carry out transformation. If a person’s consciousness has experienced capture, the biological body can provide strong resistance and start the process of self-destruction. Taking into account the fact that the rapid development of electronic technologies has literally placed humanity in energy captivity, such an outcome may become natural and the most common.

Departure from a specific incarnation can occur not only with the help of diseases; terrorist acts and wars, which claim hundreds and thousands of lives, are more effective. A similar tool, consisting of physical confrontation between people, was used before, but was used for other purposes. The wars that took place in ancient times and the Middle Ages allowed the system to easily regulate the process of human development, destroying civilizations that had reached too high vibrations and, from its point of view, were excessively ahead of the rest.

Currently, the level of human development is completely controlled by electronic technologies, and the possibility of any discoveries depends on trends in the field of electronics and virtual communications. In this regard, war as a means of blocking people's opportunities loses its relevance, and people's social existence can become calmer. However, wars may continue for another reason, and armed conflicts may be subconsciously provoked by the people themselves, seeking to end their lives. A similar role can also be played by epidemics and global emergencies, which in past times were methods of the system to regulate its processes, but now they will become spontaneous phenomena triggered by the collective consciousness of people. At the same time, the external side of life will become calmer, and the system will not provide prerequisites for indignation.

External comfort can manifest itself in an increase in the quality of life and material income, in benefits for medical procedures and operations aimed at prolonging biological existence. However, the more the system maintains the safety of the physical body, the more the person’s subconscious will be indignant at this, which will lead to failures at the level of the entire civilization. Despite the effectiveness of medical technologies in the near future, new diseases will arise that the latest equipment and drugs cannot cope with. A similar situation can happen in other areas of life: a high material income will no longer please a person and will force him to quickly plunge headlong into virtual reality, becoming either an involuntary tool of the system, or starting the process of self-destruction.

Likewise, the system will not be able to provide a sufficient level of security within any country, since increasing terrorist attacks will become a way for people who do not agree to stay in artificial conditions to leave their lives. We can say that in the near future, death may become the only way for people to escape from the numerous restrictions of social existence.

To prevent the self-destruction of humanity, the system will further aggravate the situation, strengthening in people’s minds a negative attitude towards the phenomenon of death and at the same time making mechanical implants as accessible as possible, the mass use of which will not allow human biorobots to die. From the point of view of everyday perception, a person will finally gain the long-awaited immortality, but in fact he will lose his last freedom and turn into a slave of social processes.

Given the prevalence of a negative view of death, people of the near future will begin to look at the end of physical life as a terrible disease and will strive with all their might to avoid this by agreeing to replace healthy organs with implants in order to block the aging process.

In part, the need of such people will be natural, since it will be dictated by the desire to extend their active life and ensure freedom of action. The reason for this desire is the desire to escape aging, which is an unnatural process provoked by the system. In the future, external fields that ensure the aging process may be further activated, which will make aging a kind of scourge of humanity, spurring people to quickly surrender to the mercy of technology and replace their body with an artificial analogue.

In parallel with this, the system can increase the impact of vibrations of fear, exaggerating the negative attitude towards death, fueled by the fear of the unknown, which people feel without having any idea about the processes happening to them after the end of their physical life. In fact, the fear of death is far-fetched, and it comes from a misunderstanding of this phenomenon, and is also supported by the lack of information about what happens to a person after the end of the incarnation. If people have information about the processes that their being undergoes during the period of reincarnation, then they will begin to relate to death more consciously and will be able to free themselves from groundless fear.

It is worth noting that the system deliberately keeps man in the dark regarding this matter, and the most common view is supported by the materialistic concept that death is a purely biological process. An alternative point of view is promoted by some religions, which gives people hope for continued existence, however, not in the physical body, but on the subtle plane in the astral worlds, one of which is heaven or hell. Other religions that allow people to believe in the possibility of reincarnation captivate their perception with the concept of karma, according to which the limitations of a particular life carry over with a person into the next incarnation and force him to work off previous debts. Thus, the religious concept, like the materialistic one, does not allow people to see death as a process of liberation, and although such a thesis is common in some spiritual teachings, it does not find wide acceptance due to the imposition of other points of view that are more convenient for the system.

At the same time, today, humanity is faced with a choice - to become primitive biological material for the egregors that control their consciousness, or to take advantage of the chance for liberation presented by physical death. And at first glance, the second outcome means complete self-destruction at the levels of the entire civilization, because this can happen if people take the opportunity to die unknowingly, triggering one of the negative scenarios. From this point of view, any action leading to death can become desirable for a person if social conditions do not give him hope of realizing his deepest aspirations.

Currently, the system does not provide people with opportunities for self-realization, but at the same time it feeds them with the hope that such an opportunity will be available in the near future. In general, any religious or philosophical worldview has the right to exist in society if it helps a person hope for the best. The information presented in this article, on the contrary, can destroy the usual points of support, and therefore, in the usual sense, is asocial. However, if you look at death as a source of liberation, then information that debunks the usual points of support can become salvation, since instead of imaginary hopes it can give a person real faith in his own strength.

The opportunity to die is the only thing that has not yet been taken away from modern man, and he is able to resort to this technique at any moment, except for those cases when his consciousness is completely captured by the fear of the unknown, or the obstacle is a physical condition like coma or paralysis. In all other cases, a person is free to end his life at the moment he wishes, including carrying out this process consciously.

It is worth noting that the attitude towards suicide is specifically aggravated by the influence of religions, because in the absence of such an influence on the minds of people, this act would become a very common occurrence. At the same time, my statement is not intended to persuade the reader to the possibility of suddenly dying. It is about gaining a purer perception of the phenomenon of death itself and freeing oneself from many limiting points of view, one of which is a negative attitude towards suicides. A person can easily escape such a judgment if he puts suicide on a par with other phenomena, such as terrorist attacks, accidents or fatal diseases, each of which is a way to end a physical life.

Moreover, the death of most modern people due to aging is also a way of premature death, since the human body initially has enough energy resources to exist for many thousands of years. The aging process is specifically accelerated by a human being if it feels the meaninglessness of existence, and then it begins to help external fields destroy the body. Based on this, a person can choose any method of death, and for his deepest being it is liberation.

If modern people can look at the phenomenon of death from a positive point of view, they will no longer be afraid of it, and perhaps even love this opportunity. Most likely, creating a harmonious relationship with the phenomenon of death will not speed up the process of dying, but, on the contrary, will prolong physical life, and that phase in which a person is in the most resourceful and free state. The main reason for the withering of the physical body is subconscious fear, which keeps the body in constant tension and does not allow a person to relax. If a person feels the favorable outcome of death, he will be freed from most fears and will transfer himself to a completely new level of vibrations, which will make him immune to most manipulations by social egregors.

Fear of death is the main emotion that feeds any disharmonious feelings in people, including guilt, resentment, jealousy, anger and the desire for revenge. Fear of the end of life is refracted in a person's perception in many particulars, and almost any fear can be considered a derivative of this fundamental distortion. On the one hand, the fear of death stimulates a person to realize himself in society, and liberation from it will lead to the loss of the usual points of support, making the usual goals that most people strive for irrelevant. On the other hand, by reconsidering the phenomenon of death, people can find new meanings of existence, allowing them to develop more consciously both personally and at the level of the entire civilization.

Perhaps a positive attitude towards death will form the basis of a new teaching that can harmoniously complement all existing religions and help people find a new foothold. Thanks to this, the usual faith of a religious person will become more objective, and the hope for a posthumous transition to other worlds or for reincarnation will take on a new meaning. If a person stops treating death as a punishment and pathology, then he will be able to look at the process of transition to a new incarnation and prepare for it in advance. In this case, many of the obstacles that usually await a person during reincarnation will be possible to overcome and free the next life from many of the restrictions that were present earlier.

Perhaps a new teaching that helps people harmoniously carry out the process of reincarnation will become the main source of positive emotions, as it will help them free themselves from the main negative experience leading to aging - the fear of death. This fear is only strong if the transition to the next life is dark and unclear, and then it really becomes a source of fear. If the veil of the afterlife is finally removed, a person can satisfy one of his main interests that connects him with the subtle plane.

Of course, when creating a new concept of reincarnation, it is worth paying special attention to new information that becomes the foundation for this teaching. The truth of information that comes from the subtle plane and helps a person reconsider the usual point of view about death plays a key role. The main criterion, which can become a litmus test for the reliability of information, is the feeling of strength and inner freedom that can come in contact with real information. If the entity transmitting information about death seeks to place a person’s consciousness into new restrictions, then such sayings can only give rise to new fears and shake confidence.

Therefore, when creating a new concept of death, a person can base it on a feeling of unshakable faith in one’s own strength, which can become a sensory filling of any information and reveal its true meaning. This same feeling can become the energy that will help a person easily overcome any obstacles separating him from the next incarnation in the physical body, or move to those levels of the Universe where he would like to find himself.

1.14. Message to extraterrestrial civilizations

The main SETI efforts are aimed at detection extraterrestrial civilizations (by receiving signals, searching for traces of astro-engineering activities, etc.). These are passive methods. Is it possible to limit ourselves to only them? It is logical to think that to achieve success one should combine passive methods with active ones, that is, sending one’s own messages to extraterrestrial civilizations. In § 1.6 we examined the strategy of S. E. Khaikin, based on the fact that a civilization that wants to connect to the interstellar communication system must send a signal about its readiness for this.

Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov drew attention to the need to combine passive and active methods in the search for CC.

The first message to Space was sent on November 19, 1962 from the USSR Center for Long-Range Space Communications in Evpatoria during the Venus radar experiment, on the initiative of O. N. Rzhiga; a radiotelegraph message consisting of three words was sent: “Peace, Lenin, USSR.” The country that sent it has already faded from the stage of history, but radio waves continue to carry the message at the speed of light across the stars. Who knows, maybe someday the bowl of someone else's antenna will stand in their way and creatures unknown to us will read three words that are mysterious to them...

It was sent from the already familiar 300-meter radio telescope to the globular cluster M 13 in the constellation Hercules, located at a distance of about 25 thousand light years. years from the Sun. The radio telescope's beam completely covers the entire cluster, numbering hundreds of thousands of stars. If at least one of them has a civilization capable of receiving radio signals, it can detect our message.

What is this message? It contains 1679 bits of information. Each bit is transmitted using a pulse at one of two similar frequencies in the 2380 MHz range.

Rice. 1.14.1. Radio message from Arecibo to the globular cluster M 13

If pulses at one frequency are represented as zero, and at another as one, then we will receive a message consisting of 1679 binary characters, a fragment of which is reproduced in Fig. 1.14.1. The number 1679 is the product of two prime numbers: 23 and 73.

Rice. 1.14.2. Decoding of the Arecibo radio message (explanations in the text)

Our recipients should guess that this is not without reason: apparently, to decrypt it, it is necessary to use a “television” image scan, consisting of 23 lines of 73 elements per line, or 73 lines of 23 elements. To make this image clear, we will represent each “0” with a black square, and each “1” with a white square. Then we get the image shown in Fig. 1.14.2. It corresponds to the second option (73 lines of 23 elements) and is clearly not random in nature (if we accept the first version of the “sweep”, then no “meaningful” picture emerges). The picture on the right shows the decoding of the message. In the first row, the numbers of the natural series from 1 to 10 are depicted in binary code. The second row is number labels. The third row contains the numbers: 1, 6, 7, 8, 15; these are the atomic numbers of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and phosphorus - the chemical elements that lie at the basis of earthly life. Then there are 12 groups, each of which consists of 5 elements - these are molecules important for life and consisting of the above elements: the numbers depict the chemical formulas of these molecules. For example, the 5th group does not contain hydrogen, carbon and nitrogen atoms, but contains 4 oxygen atoms and 1 phosphorus atom, therefore, it is a phosphate group PO4. The most important molecules include 4 nucleotides: thymine, guanine, adenine, cytosine (with the help of which hereditary information is encoded), deoxyribose sugar molecule, etc. Below these groups is a DNA double helix (6th row). The number of nucleotides in DNA (about 4 billion) is depicted in the center of the spiral - row 5. Below is a human figure. Since the double helix ends at a schematic representation of a person, this, according to the authors of the message, should indicate the connection of DNA with intelligent beings who transmitted the message. To the right of the human figure is the number 14, indicating the person’s height. The unit of length is taken to be the wavelength of the radio emission carrying the message. It is equal to 12.6 cm. Thus, the height of the person here is 12.6 cm x 14 = 176 cm. To the left of the human figure is the number 4 ∙ 109 - the number of the human race at the time the message was sent. Below (in the 10th row) is a diagram of the Solar System. It can be seen that it contains 9 planets. The third planet is singled out from the general series, which indicates its special role; since it is close to humans, we can conclude that it is on this planet that intelligent beings who sent the message live. Finally, at the very bottom there is a diagram of the Arecibo radio telescope and its diameter is indicated - 306 m.

The globular cluster in the constellation Hercules is number 13 in the catalog compiled by III. Messier in 1781 (hence his designation M 13). Playing on this designation, the poet Julian Dolgiy wrote the following humorous poem about this message:

Messier, ah!
Mon cher ami!
The devil knows whether you exist or not.
But we are people
And a hello space helmet.
We have only one head,
And two arms and two legs.
The messages of our word Will Messier's brains overcome him?

Rice. 1.14.3. Message to extraterrestrial civilizations on the Pioneer 10 spacecraft. Top left - photo of the authors of the message: K. Sagan, L. Sagan and F. Drake

Two years before the radio message to the constellation Hercules, an attempt was made to send a different kind of message to extraterrestrial civilizations. This message is on the Pioneer 10 spacecraft. It was launched in 1972 to explore the outer planets of the solar system. In 1979, the device crossed the orbit of Uranus and is currently located at the borders of the Solar system. It will take him 100 thousand years to travel the distance to the nearest star Alpha Centauri. Wandering in interstellar space, the ship may someday end up in the habitat of another civilization. The probability of this event, given how sparsely stars are distributed in space, is vanishingly small, but not zero! With this chance in mind, the ship's designers considered it possible to provide it with the text of a message from Earth.

It is a plate measuring 15 x 25 cm with a design engraved on it, which is mounted on the side of the ship. In the upper left corner of the plate () there is a diagram of hydrogen with parallel and antiparallel orientation of proton and electron spins. If alien physicists figure out our plan, they will understand that we are talking about a spectral transition during which the 21 cm hydrogen radio line is emitted. This allows us to immediately establish the units of length and time: the length unit is 21 cm, the time unit is the period corresponding to the frequency of the hydrogen radio line 1420 MHz. Under the hydrogen atom there is a figure consisting of several rays emanating from one point. The binary numbers above each ray indicate the value of some parameter. Judging by the number of significant figures, this parameter is determined with very high accuracy. The only such parameter can be the period of pulsars. So, each ray points in the direction from our star (Sun) to the corresponding pulsar. And since their astronomers know the direction to the same pulsars from their star, they can determine the position of the Sun relative to their star. But that is not all. The period of pulsars varies over time. By comparing the values of the periods indicated on the diagram with those known to them, alien astronomers will be able to determine the era of the message. To the right of the diagram with pulsars, against the background of a spaceship (already known to aliens), the inhabitants of the Earth are depicted - men and women. The binary number on the right indicates the woman's height: it is equal to 8 units. Since the wavelength of 21 cm is taken as a unit of length, the woman’s height is 21 cm x 8 = 168 cm. Below is a diagram of the Solar System of 9 planets. The third planet is highlighted from the general series and it is shown that it was from it that the spaceship that delivered the message launched.

Much richer information addressed to extraterrestrial civilizations is found on board the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 spacecraft. They were launched in 1977, also to study the outer planets of the solar system. With the help of these devices, magnificent photographs of Jupiter and Saturn, as well as their satellites, were obtained. Having completed its mission at Saturn, Voyager 1 headed towards the boundaries of the solar system, and Voyager 2, having performed a gravitational maneuver, passed near Uranus and Neptune. He received photographs of these distant planets, their satellites (some of them were discovered thanks to Voyager) and transmitted to Earth a lot of valuable information about Uranus and Neptune. Now it is also moving towards the boundaries of the solar system.

On board each device there is an information plate with recording of audio and video signals. The plate is covered with gold to protect it from erosion under the influence of cosmic dust (). What does the message contain? 75% of the recording is dedicated to music. According to the authors of the message, the ship itself, with its complex scientific equipment and computers, will be sufficient evidence of our technical development. But he will not say anything about the aesthetic or philosophical sides of the human personality. Music seems to be a good means of expressing these aspects. The recording includes works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Stravinsky, Western light music (jazz, rock and roll, blues), classical music of India, Java, Japan, ancient Chinese work for seven-string guitar, folk music of Peru, Bulgaria, Australia, Africa , melodies of the peoples of the Soviet Union: Russian songs, Azerbaijani bagpipe music and Georgian choral singing. The remaining 25% of the Voyager message recording consists of human voices, various sounds of the Earth (wind noise, splashing waves, birdsong) and 116 drawings encoded into the video signal. Human voices are recorded in the form of greetings in 55 of the most common languages on Earth.

At the top left, an enlarged view of an aluminum container with an information plate is shown, on the lid of which instructions for using the plate are engraved

Rice. 1.14.6. Fragment of Voyager's message with greetings from the inhabitants of the Earth

In Fig. 1.14.6 reproduces a fragment with the greeting text, which contains a greeting in Russian: “Hello, greetings!”

The drawings, photographs and diagrams sent by Voyager in the form of a video signal are arranged in a specific order to make the images easier to decipher. To convey scientific information, it is first necessary to agree on a way to express quantitative relationships. An example of teaching earthly arithmetic is shown. The dots on the frame depict quantities (numbers) from 1 to 6; next to them is an image of these numbers in binary and decimal number systems. An example of writing large numbers using powers of 10 (1000 = 10 3) is shown. Next, operations on numbers (including integers and fractions) are introduced.

The next step is related to the introduction of units of measurement of basic physical quantities (). The figure at the top left shows the already familiar diagram of a hydrogen atom emitting a radio link at a frequency of 1420 MHz. The period of oscillation corresponding to this frequency is taken as a unit of time. In relation to it, the second, day, year are determined. The mass of a hydrogen atom is taken as a unit of mass, and in relation to it the following are determined: gram, kilogram, mass of the Earth. To the right of the diagram of the hydrogen atom there is shown a section of a sinusoid with a wavelength of 21 cm, which is taken as a unit of length. In relation to it, the following are defined: centimeter, angstrom, meter, kilometer.

Rice. 1.14.9. Voyager message. Information about the solar system.

The large circle at the top left represents the Sun, followed by the planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Saturn and Uranus have a ring. The numbers under each planet mean: size in km, distance from the Sun, mass expressed in units of Earth mass, and period of rotation around its own axis, in Earth days. Data for Pluto is not accurate

What Lomberg said about Voyager messages can also be applied to radio messages. 25 years have passed since the sending of the “Arecibo Message”, and only then radio transmissions from Earth to our distant brothers were resumed as part of the international project “Cosmic Call”. It is part of the larger Encounter 2001 project. The initiator of the project, American businessman Charles Chafer, proposed implementing it on a commercial basis, attracting private funds from project participants. The essence of “Cosmic Call” is to transmit radio messages to nearby stars using a powerful planetary radar. Anyone can be included in the list of participants by paying $15, which gives them the right to send an individual message not exceeding 30 words. It was assumed that planetary radars at Arecibo or Goldstone would be used to transmit messages. However, due to the extreme workload of the instruments, these plans could not be implemented. Then A.L. Zaitsev from the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics (IRE RAS), working on a radar installed at the focus of a 70-meter antenna in Evpatoria (under the program to protect the Earth from asteroids), proposed using this locator in the Cosmic Call project.

The message consists of two parts. The first part contains the main message and several supporting ones. The second part is the names and individual letters of the project participants (about 50 thousand). The main message is 23 pages long. Each page is a sequence of 16129 (127x127) binary characters. The first few pages are introductory: page 1: “Numbers”, page 2: “Operations”, page 3: “Exponential Notations”, then there is information on astronomy, biology, geography. Page 21 describes the antenna and transmitter of the Evpatoria radar. The last page invites anyone who has read the message to respond and, if possible, provide information about their civilization. In addition to the main message (of 23 pages), the first part of the Evpatoria Message contains a description of the Encounter 2001 project (compiled by Richard Braastad), a list of personnel involved in this project, and finally the Arecibo Message is included in the first part. The total volume of the Evpatoria Message is more than 1.7 million binary units.

The commercial basis of "Cosmic Call" raises some doubts, since it seems preferable that in cosmic contact, at least at the stage of its establishment, the subjects were civilizations, rather than individuals. On the other hand, such organization of the project allows it to attract the attention of the general public, which can be useful for SETI purposes. Be that as it may, the project reflects the modern level of consciousness of our earthly civilization.

Doubts are sometimes expressed regarding active search methods, especially regarding the transmission of messages through communication channels, for fear that in this way our civilization may find itself in the face of the formidable and powerful inhabitants of the Cosmos. These concerns are based on the historical experience of interaction between civilizations on Earth. Until now, interaction has proceeded in such a way that a stronger civilization sought to subjugate a weaker one. To what extent can this be extended to space civilizations? In its quest for submission, humanity has come to a dangerous point, placing itself on the brink of self-destruction. Therefore, one can think that the emergence of new thinking, the most important element of which is the transition from confrontation to cooperation, is not accidental. There appears to be a certain connection between the level of development, the level of knowledge of a civilization and its moral state. Moreover, the connection is not reverse (as often happened on Earth), but direct: that is, the higher the level of development of civilization, the level of its knowledge and culture, the higher its moral principles should be87. This law inevitably comes into force when civilizations reach a certain stage of development, for knowledge in immoral hands becomes destructive and inevitably leads to self-destruction.

“Cognition and morality are two facets,
The speakers are clear in unity."
So that the highest Knowledge is revealed to people,
They need high morality.
And to be moral, you need knowledge -
Why do we need this morality? Then
We consciously apply it in our hearts
And we will open the path to knowledge for ourselves.

However, fears of detecting oneself using radio signals are unfounded for other reasons. Indeed, if certain civilizations are capable of posing a threat to humanity, they must be sufficiently developed scientifically and technologically. Therefore, their information about the surrounding space does not depend on our SETI activity. In particular, our civilization can be easily detected by radio emissions from television stations (not to mention other detection methods available to a highly developed civilization).

One of those who strongly disagreed with the position of limiting our SETI activity to only searching for CC signals was A.D. Sakharov. In a response to a CETI questionnaire in 1971, he wrote: “At the same time, I would like to emphasize the importance of design work in sending signals, brought to the concrete implementation of certain projects - only in this way can the subtle aspects of the contact problem be understood. Here, as in other matters, egoists ultimately end up losing” (Earth and Universe. 1990. No. 6. P. 63-67).

Another objection to signaling is that we will receive an answer to our message (if there is one at all) at best after many decades. Referring to this issue, A.L. Zaitsev writes: “Can’t selfless messianic activity, bringing the good news to brothers in mind “You are not alone!”, and their enlightenment with the stunning discovery of the artificial origin of our message, cannot in themselves be worthy goals of earthlings and justification radio broadcasting for CC? Imagine for a moment us in their place and our breakthrough into infinity after detecting the CC signal. So why not give this chance to others?” Really - why?

At the end of the 20th century, the children of the Earth decided to send their message into space. In July 2000, the International Meeting “Children of Europe of the 21st Century” was held in Moscow. In preparation for the Meeting, a group of children from the Moscow City Palace of Children and Youth Creativity decided to prepare a Message to extraterrestrial civilizations from the children of the Earth and began preparing it. The initiative group included Vyacheslav Avdeev, Anatoly Anikeev, Tatyana Anikeeva, Andrey Gutiontov, Egor Kiselev, Victoria Putansh and Vladimir Filippov. Within the framework of the Meeting itself, the section “Message to Extraterrestrial Civilizations” worked, which discussed the draft Message and submitted it to the Meeting for consideration. It was decided to continue work on the Message, connecting everyone to it using the Internet. The project participants agreed that the Message should contain information about our civilization, about those who send it. At the same time, the Message should reflect a child’s view of the world and its problems. The content of the Message includes a text part, a drawing, music and a description (algorithm) of some games.

It was decided to include in the text a list of keywords that are important for our civilization and reflect a child’s view of the problem. The list included the following 14 words: Mom, Peace, Earth, Space, Contact, Mind, Life, Joy, Friendship, Love, Communication, Freedom, Children, Man.

After lengthy discussions and selection, it was decided to include three games in the gaming part: checkers, chess and tic-tac-toe. All of them reflect the intellectual world of a person, and “tic-tac-toe” in addition is also loved by children and is easy to pass on.

Rice. 1.14.11. Emblem of the EC message from the children of the Earth

The most carefully developed visual part of the Message, which also serves as its emblem (Fig. 1.4.11). Its authors are Vladimir Filippov and Egor Kiselev. When constructing a picture-emblem, the value of the carrier wavelength of the Evpatoria locator is 6 cm, as well as converting this frequency using the number 3 as an integer part π .

The central part of the emblem represents the face of an earthling human, placed in a circle with a diameter of 6 cm, which is equal to the carrier wavelength already known to the recipient, this sets the scale for determining other linear quantities. The next circle is bordered by a wavy line, the wavelength of which also corresponds to the carrier wave of the Message of 6 cm, which is an additional clue. The third circle, on which symbolic figures of men are depicted, represents the image surfaces planets where humanity lives. Its diameter is three times the diameter of the first circle and is equal to 18 cm, which corresponds to the wavelength of hydroxyl radio lines. If the number of people (54) is divided by 3 (the approximate value of the number π ), then the number 18 will be obtained again, which indicates its importance in the structure of the Message. If the recipients guess that this is the wavelength of the hydroxyl line in our units, they will be able to establish the relationship between the units of length in their system and ours. Below the surface there is a wavy line with a wavelength of 1.35 cm, which corresponds to the wavelength of the radio line of water and therefore indicates water as an important element for life on Earth. In addition, this indicates the existence of the hydrosphere, the inhabitants of which are symbolically represented by dolphin figures. The inhabitants of the atmosphere (birds) are depicted above the surface of the Earth, thereby giving an idea of the suitability of the planet’s air for life.

The outer circle is bordered by 10 circles, which contain scientific information, as well as information about other areas of human activity. Each of these circles has a diameter of 6 cm, which again brings us back to the carrier wavelength and gives confirmation of the adopted scale. The number of circles symbolizes the decimal number system adopted on Earth. (The deep meaning of the ten-decade is revealed in Pythagorean mathematics, probably known to aliens.) At the top of each circle there are vertical sticks: I, II, III, IIII,... ΙΙΙΙΙΙΙΙΙΙ. It is easy to understand that these are numbers in the natural series. If after each such number you put the “=” sign followed by the symbols 1,2, 3,4, ...,10 (1 = 1, II = 2, III = 3, ΙΙΙΙ = 4, ..., SHISHI = 10), then we can guess that the symbol “=”, common to all, denotes the relation of equality, and the symbols behind it denote natural numbers in the number system accepted on Earth. Since the last number is two-digit, this indicates that we have a decimal number system.

The first circle depicts what our Galaxy looks like when viewed edge-on; The arrow shows the position of the Solar System. The second circle depicts a diagram of the Solar System; the figurine of a man on the third planet indicates that the message came from there. The planet itself is depicted in the third circle. The outlines of the continents and the world ocean are visible; continents are depicted in black, oceans in white (this, of course, is conditional: aliens can, on the contrary, depict continents in white and the ocean in black). A figurine of a man on one of the continents indicates that people live on land. The same circle schematically shows the Earth's natural satellite - the Moon. The 4th circle depicts life on Earth, its main kingdoms: plant, animal and human. The fifth circle reproduces the famous “Drake cosmogram”. Here is a picture of a human family (dad, mom and me). It is shown that the family has two origins. Unlike Drake's cosmogram, the child's figure is highlighted here - this symbolizes the fact that this message comes from children. The 6th circle depicts the earthly house of man; it is located on the same diameter as the circle where our Galaxy is depicted - the cosmic home of humanity. The 7th circle depicts the human body in the proportions of the golden ratio. The 8th circle depicts the most ancient cosmogonic symbol from the Chinese “Book of Changes”. In the center is the famous symbol of Yang and Yin, and the lines around it are the 8 main trigrams, symbolizing the life cycle. The inclusion of this symbol in the Message, according to the authors, in addition to the philosophical content, demonstrates our tribute to antiquity, to the values of other cultures, which should be very important during interstellar contacts. The 9th circle shows the game of “tic tac toe” (the game is part of human culture). The picture shows two outcomes of this game: when the zeroes win, and when the crosses win. Finally, the last, 10th circle is dedicated to technology; Moreover, from the many technical achievements, the radio telescope was chosen, since with the help of it the Message was carried out.

The same procedure as in the Arecibo Message can be used to transfer the emblem.

The musical part of the Message includes 8 melodies proposed by the same guys who composed the logo of the Message - Egor Kiselev and Vladimir Fillipov. When selecting works, they were guided not by personal sympathies, but by the desire to tell through music about the emotions, feelings, and creative abilities of the bearer of intelligence on Earth.

According to the initial outlines, the melody was chosen as the call sign romance by E. Shashin to the poems of M. Yu. Lermontov “I go out alone on the road”, which contains these wonderful words: “...And star speaks to star”, which can be an epigraph to the entire project. Followed by Finale of Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony to the words of Schiller's ode "To Joy". According to the authors, this work reveals the essence of each person and all of humanity, his humanistic ideas and psychology. The third section of the musical message - Tocatta and Fugue in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. The authors justify their choice as follows: “... the whole picture represents an 8-minute sunrise, where wide and melodious chords vividly describe fog and clouds to us, and quick passages depict the rays of the sun breaking through the fog. Isn’t it a landscape idea of our planet?” Another landscape sketch: Antonio Vivaldi "The Seasons. March". Allegro. In addition to depicting nature, the music carries the joyful spring positive attitude of an earthly person. Then follows Etude No. 12 opus 10 “revolutionary” by Frederic Chopin. Here you can hear confusion, pain, anger and despair from the powerlessness to do anything; and at the same time, on top of this whole range of feelings - a call to fight. The authors believe that this work is worthy of being sent as “a pure example of human emotion, unencumbered by any images.” The remaining works are still under discussion. Supposed to include a song Alexander Dolsky "Fulfillment of desires" and two children's songs. First "Galaxy of Eaglets" Music by an unknown author, lyrics by Viktor Makarov. The song, born in the pioneer camp "Eaglet", talks about the friendship of highly developed inhabitants on our planet (people and dolphins) and about the dreams of eaglets reaching for the stars. The inclusion of this song in the Message marks the fact that the Eaglet's dream has come true. Second song - Vladimir Lanzberg “Scarlet Sails”. Here we talk about one of the most beautiful human feelings - about love, and also about faith (not about superstition, but about faith) in miracles. Finally, in the musical part of the Message, the guys included a musical interpretation of the encephalogram of the human brain, performed by Yegor Kiselev. It is envisaged that other melodies can be added here based on suggestions from project participants.

Now, when these lines are written (November 2000), the Message is not yet completed. Probably, its main ideas will still be preserved and, perhaps, means will be found to transmit it into space

The idea of using music and games in the exchange of information between space civilizations belongs to the remarkable Soviet astrophysicist Victoria Favlovich Shvartsman. He expressed it in 1975 at the Zelenchuk CETI school-seminar, but he managed to publish it much later (the first publication dates back to 1983, the subsequent one to 1986). Justifying the feasibility of transferring games, Shvartsman noted that the rules of games are very short in length in bits, but they carry enormous information about all the games that have ever been played and which, in general, can be played. By passing on the rules of the game, we seem to convey to our partners the key to all billions of games, and then the game itself reveals its wealth in the process of functioning. The very structure of games (say, the number of squares on a chess board is about 10 2) allows us to draw important conclusions about the functioning of our brain, and the transmission of several samples of games played between people provides very subtle information about what modern people are like. Of particular interest for judging the characteristics of the human psyche are those games where, along with logic, chance plays a significant role (dominoes, preference, etc.), or even those where the result does not depend on logic at all (lottery, roulette). “Games,” writes Shvartsman, “reflect typical methods of thinking, character inclinations, values, etc.”

Sharing works of art, and especially music, allows us to communicate important information about ourselves. So, our music or poetry can tell a highly developed civilization much more about the structure of the human psyche than the data of neurophysiology and neuropsychology, says Shvartsman. Given the differences in levels of civilizations, the diversity and multi-level nature of works of art plays an important role. Scientific communication is usually built on a hierarchical principle. Skipping one or another part of the message - due to technical interference or for some other reason, for example, due to linguistic misunderstanding of the text - makes it difficult or even completely eliminates the possibility of understanding most of the following parts. This does not apply to works of art.

As for the technical side of transmitting music to extraterrestrial civilizations, according to A.L. Zaitsev, the best way to implement it is to use theremin. This unique musical instrument was invented by the remarkable scientist and engineer Lev Sergeevich Theremin in 1918. It consists of two identical self-oscillators - a reference one and one controlled by smooth movements of the performer’s hand near the antenna. The difference frequency of the generators is the generated melody. So - it's one of a kind contactless electric musical instrument. The theremin generates a narrow-band quasi-sinusoidal signal with smooth frequency modulation without phase breaks when changing frequencies, which makes it optimal for detection and separation from space noise. To radiate into outer space via a radio channel, the theremin signal must be transferred up in frequency to the centimeter range.

Developing Shvartsman's ideas, Zaitsev notes that music is more universal and understandable than ordinary “logical” languages. It conveys the emotional states of a person, and this is very valuable and timeless information about earthlings and about our civilization as a whole, it is unique, like any creativity is unique and is obviously unknown to the subscriber. Zaitsev proposed preparing the First Theremin Concert and transmitting it into space directly or in recordings from Arecibo or Evpatoria. It is possible that the concert (if it takes place) will include works from the Children's Message to Extraterrestrial Civilizations.

The message was transmitted at the end of August-beginning of September 2001 using a powerful transmitter installed on the 70-meter P-2500 antenna of the National Center for Control and Testing of Space Facilities of Ukraine (formerly the Center for Long-Range Space Communications of the USSR). See: Gindilis L. M. The signal has been sent: the first children's radio message to extraterrestrial civilizations // Earth and the Universe. 2002. No. 5. P. 82-96.

Since the middle of the 20th century, humanity has made several interesting attempts to get acquainted with alien civilizations. We sent radio messages and records aboard ships into space, and today some of them have already left the solar system. The most interesting thing about them is the logic by which their contents were selected: perhaps it will say much more about humanity than all the photographs, notes and drawings combined. T&P recalls the Arecibo signal, Voyager's golden disk and other space letters.

First attempt: “Peace, Lenin, USSR”

It is interesting that the first radio message from earthlings to extraterrestrials in history was sent in November 1962 from the Evpatoria Center for Deep Space Communications. It read: “Peace. Lenin. THE USSR". The scientists used a powerful transmitter that operated at a wavelength of 39 cm; The recipient of the signal was the planet Venus, which reflected it, which made it possible to check the functionality of the radar. In 1966, from the center of Yevpatoria via Venus, together with specialists from Great Britain, Soviet scientists sent another message: “USSR. England. Friendship".

Today, humanity's short (and likely unreadable) first interstellar letter is heading towards the orange giant HD 131336 in the constellation Libra. The distance to this star is 2 million 158 thousand light years. At the moment, of these, the radio signal has traveled 52 light years. It is noteworthy that it is in the constellation Libra that the star Gliese 581 is located, around which three exoplanets that are conditionally suitable for life revolve. The most interesting of them is Gliese 581 s, discovered in 2007: here the acceleration of gravity is 1.6 g, and the surface temperature fluctuates between +3 and +40⁰C.

Big Radio Letter: Arecibo Message

November 16, 1974 from the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico in honor of the discovery of a powerful radio telescope, scientists sent the first large and for real informative radio message to extraterrestrial civilizations. It was developed by Frank Drake, the author of the famous equation that theoretically allows one to calculate the number of advanced civilizations in the galaxy, and Carl Sagan, an American pioneer in the field of exobiology, an astronomer whose work gave impetus to the development of the SETI project to search for extraterrestrial intelligence.

The Arecibo message lasted 169 seconds and was transmitted on a wavelength of 12.5 cm. In its finished form, it had the shape of a rectangle, and when positioned correctly, the number density was constant, but when positioned incorrectly, it was not. The letter reflected the numbers from one to 10 in the binary system, atomic numbers (the number of protons in the atomic nucleus) of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and phosphorus, the molecular formulas of the components of nucleotides in human DNA, the number of nucleotide pairs in the genome and the shape of the DNA molecule, brief information about man and humanity. In addition, there was information about the solar system, the radio telescope and the size of its transmitting antenna.

Even if there really are contactees “at the other end of the line,” it will take about 25 thousand years to deliver the Arecibo message, and the same amount to respond. This letter has been criticized many times: from doubts that its rectangular shape can in principle be deciphered if you are not from Earth (where rectangles are much more common than, say, the honeycomb shape familiar to insects), and ending with the fact that the recipient must be able to perceive information optically. It has also been suggested that deciphering requires too many mathematical tricks.

In 2001, not far from the radio telescope in Chilbolton (Hampshire, UK), an interesting “response” to Arecibo appeared: a similar-looking message left on a field using crushed ears of corn. Instead of a human figure, it depicted a humanoid figure with a large head - the so-called “gray” with large eyes and a small jaw, familiar to us from sci-fi films. Then the “answer” made a lot of noise. However, the authors of the SETI project stated that it is a fake, since, firstly, it is not clear why an advanced extraterrestrial civilization did not use radio waves, choosing the short-lived “cereal graphics”, and, secondly, the DNA of the authors of the “Chilbolton message” was too much like human , although the silicon stated at the beginning of the message did not appear in the list of nucleotides.

Nude: “Pioneer” records

Carl Sagan was the author of another unusual message to extraterrestrial civilizations - graphics on anodized aluminum plates launched into space aboard Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 in 1972 and 1973. Shown here are a naked man and woman against the backdrop of a spaceship carrying a record (on the same scale), a map of the Milky Way pulsars, which shows the distance from them and from the center of the galaxy to the Sun, the two main states of the hydrogen atom, and a diagram of the Solar System with a mark where it came from "Pioneer". The width of each plate is 22.9 cm, height - 15.2 cm, thickness - 1.27 mm.

This interesting work by Sagan has been repeatedly criticized both for its excessive anthropocentricity and for the fact that “NASA sent an obscenity into space.” The arrow that marks the direction of the ship's movement can only be understood by a civilization whose food-procuring techniques developed similarly to those on Earth (i.e., hunting with spears or arrows). And the man’s raised hand in greeting seems to have meaning exclusively for us.

Today, Pioneer 10, according to experts, should have already entered interstellar space. The last, very weak signal from it was received in January 2003, after which the radio transmitter on the ship completely failed. Now this device is moving in the direction of the brightest star in the constellation Taurus - Aldebaran - and can reach it in 2 million years. Pioneer 11 is moving towards the Scutum constellation. We have not yet been able to detect exoplanets in either constellation.

Music and a map of pulsars: Voyager's golden records

In 1977, another unusual recording was sent into space - two gold-plated records in anodized aluminum cases, mounted on board Voyager 1 and Voyager 2. Their diameter is 30 cm, and the precious coating should protect the paths from the erosive effects of cosmic dust. Along with the plastics, each case contains a stylus for playing the recording and a phonographic capsule. The box containing the record includes explanations: an engraved diagram of stylus placement and video-to-image conversion, audio playback speed data, another pulsar map showing the position of the Sun in the Milky Way, and a diagram of the emission of hydrogen units to produce metric and time units.

The commission for the creation of the Voyager records was once again headed by Carl Sagan. This time, experts decided to devote most of the space to music. Classical Western and Eastern works, light and folk music occupy 78% of the space on the records. The honor of representing the West fell to Bach (Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, Gavotte in Rondo Form, Well-Tempered Clavier), Beethoven (5th Symphony, String Quartet No. 13), Mozart (The Magic Flute), Stravinsky (Spring sacred"), Chuck Berry ("Johnny B. Goode"), Louis Armstrong ("My Melancholy Blues") and Blind Willie Johnson ("Dark Was the Night"). However, most of the space went to classical music from India, Java and Japan, and folk music from Peru, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Australia and Africa. Interestingly, the record also contains a Chinese piece for qixianqin, composed by Bo Ya 2.5 thousand years ago, Georgian choral singing, the sounds of pipes from the Solomon Islands and the ritual singing of the peoples of New Guinea, which resembles the singing of Stone Age people.

22% of the space on the records is occupied by recordings of human voices and sounds of the planet, as well as 116 images encoded into a video signal. There are greetings in 55 of the most common languages on Earth, including the ancient ones: Sumerian, Akkadian, Hittite, Aramaic, Ancient Greek and Latin. On Voyager there are sounds of the ocean and land, the voices of animals and birds, the noise of human activity: footsteps, the sound of a hammer and an ax, the grinding of a saw, the howl of jet engines and the roar of a rocket launch, the cry of a child being soothed by its mother, as well as the rhythmic clicking of a pulsar, giving a clue to the cosmic map on the box.

The unusual plates also contain photographs of the solar spectrum, encoded as three monochrome images. Knowing the spectrum of the Sun, you can combine them into a color picture. This allows you to see other images in color: a view of the Earth from space and from low orbit, diagrams of the structure of atoms to introduce atmospheric gases and the DNA molecule, and a series of anatomical drawings showing how a cell divides, fertilization occurs, the development of an embryo and the development of an earthly creature . There are also eight diagrams illustrating human anatomy. In addition, the Voyager media contains photographs of landscapes, life forms and human beings: farmers from Guatemala and Australia, workers from Africa, Thailand and the United States, ballet dancers, Olympic runners and others.

The gold plates also contain messages from UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim and US President Jimmy Carter. Carter’s heartfelt, but incomprehensible speech without knowledge of the English language, loosely translated, sounds like this:

“This device was created in the USA, a country with a population of 240 million people among the 4 billion population of the Earth. Humanity is still divided into separate nations and states, but countries are quickly moving towards a single earthly civilization.

We are sending this message into space. It will likely survive a billion years into our future, when our civilization will have changed and completely changed the face of the Earth. If any civilization intercepts Voyager and is able to understand the meaning of this disk, here is our message:

This is a gift from a small, distant world: our sounds, science, images, music, thoughts and feelings. We are trying to survive in our time so that we can live in yours. We hope the day will come when the problems we face today will be solved and we will join the galactic civilization. These records represent our hopes, determination and goodwill in this Universe, vast and awe-inspiring."

To date, Voyager 1 has moved away from our planet to a distance of 130 thousand astronomical units (1 AU is the average distance from the Earth to the Sun), or 17 light hours and 36 light minutes. It is moving towards the constellation Giraffe and in 40 thousand years it will fly 1.6 light years from the red dwarf AC+79 3888, which is located near the North Star. During the same time, Voyager 2 should be at a distance of 1.7 light years from the star Ross 248, and after 296 thousand years it will approach Sirius.

Leuthen's Star, a lone star in the constellation Canis Minor, was the address of a radio message sent from Earth last month.

The star GJ 273, a red dwarf around which two planets revolve, is located 12.36 light years from the Sun, so it will take at least a quarter of a century to wait for a response from the recipient on Earth. It is known about one of the planets of this star, GJ 273 b,

that it is located in the so-called habitable zone, this determined the choice of target.

The purpose of the message is not so much to get a response from the hypothetical inhabitants of the GJ 273b system, but to lay the technological foundation for similar messages in the future, said the president of the METI (Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence) project, based in San Francisco.

“This is a prototype of something that I think we can do hundreds, thousands, millions of times,” Vakoch said. “For me, the project will be a great success if, 25 years later, someone remembers and tries to hear the answer.”

The initiators of sending a message called “Sónar Calling GJ 273b” were the METI project and the Spanish Institute of Space Research. The project participants took 33 short musical compositions and information about mathematical rules, geometry, trigonometry, encrypted them into binary code,

and sent towards the star using a 32-meter radio antenna in the Norwegian city of Tromso.

The antenna - EISCAT (European Incoherent SCATter Scientific Association) - has a power of 1.5 megawatts. The message was sent on two carrier frequencies on October 16 and 17, Scientific American reports.

Leuthen's Star was chosen by scientists because of its relative proximity to Earth, and because it is the closest star to Earth that has a potentially habitable planet that is visible in the northern hemisphere, Vakoc explained.

The ideal star for sending the message would be Proxima Centauri, scientists say, since it is only 4.2 light years away.

“Proxima Centrauri is visible only from the southern hemisphere, and we do not have powerful antennas there. Therefore, we had to be content with targets in the northern hemisphere,” explained project participant Ignasi Ribas, director of the Institute of Space Research of Catalonia. "We don't know if there is life on the surface of this planet or if it has evolved enough to become complex and ultimately intelligent, so many questions remain."

The message, in addition to 10-second music videos recorded by several musicians, contains instructions for transcribing them. “We don’t expect aliens to know the MP3 format,” Ribas explained.

The British musical duo Autechre, DJ Richie Hawtin, musician Karsten Nicolai, the musical duo from Berlin Modeselektor and other performers took part in the creation of the recordings.

The project participants intend to continue sending messages to Leuthen's star; the next one is scheduled to be sent in April 2018. “Until we try, we won’t start communicating,” Ribas is sure. - This is an experiment in which we say: “Hello! We are here. If you want to respond, we will listen.”

The message sent using a Norwegian radio antenna is not the first of its kind. In 1974, the famous Arecibo message was sent from Earth in the direction of the globular star cluster M13, located at a distance of 25 thousand light years, using the largest radio telescope in Puerto Rico.

The message contained information about the planets of the solar system, the structure of DNA, images of a person and other information about our civilization.

The idea of actively trying to communicate with alien civilizations has always caused a lot of controversy, even among SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) community members.

One of the questions is who can and should send signals on behalf of all humanity? Another - isn't it dangerous? One of the opponents of such messages is the famous British astrophysicist Stephen. “We must be wary of the backlash. "An encounter with an advanced civilization may be like the meeting of the indigenous people of America with Columbus, from which nothing good came of it," Hawking said in 2010.

People have long been striving inform the aliens about your existence. And sometimes they get answers to them. So in 2001, on August 14, two strange drawings of crushed signs appeared in the fields of Great Britain. One of them is the face of a humanoid, the second is similar to the image that people sent aliens in 1974. Moreover, at the same time, the answer came using a radio telescope in the form of a binary code.

After the incident, many attempted to decipher the mysterious message, and it was solved. It is assumed that alien response sounds something like this: “We understand that you sent us a message by depicting yourself, we are also showing you what we look like. You and I have a similar carbon structure, but our DNA structure is different. We answer your question using telepathic technology through superspace..."

How did you figure out the answer?

Work on the news to the aliens lasted 32 years. Astrophysicists were mainly involved in the formation of the code. Drake and Sagan. They thought long and hard about how the information should be presented and where to send it. As a result, the matrix was sent to the constellation Hercules. It is interesting that the answer was expected only by 47574, but it did not take long to arrive.

Message from aliens contains the same number of columns as the message of earthlings. However, the information in it is completely different. So the little man has a big head, and the data on the chemical elements includes silicon. The structure of DNA is also different - it has one more strand.

The government's response is silence

It would seem that humanity has almost solved the mystery, but the government did everything to prevent this outstanding event from becoming public knowledge. His policy is to suppress the truth! The authorities do not benefit from ordinary citizens getting out of control, so they hide the facts, claiming that we are alone in the Universe.

How soon we will find out the truth is unknown, but to say that aliens They don’t make contact with us, it’s impossible. They are slowly sharing information - this is confirmed by drawings in the fields and attempts to communicate on television and radio, for example. And if the radio broadcast can still be considered falsification, then the crop circles, at least for now, have not been able to be repeated. Mankind does not know a technology that allows one to bend ears of grain without damaging them, so intricately and over such a large area.
