In Russia, a scientific expert opinion has appeared, recognizing the watercolor of Viktor Vasnetsov, the most famous illustrator of Russian fairy tales, as an object with a “non-verbal manipulative effect”, that is, dangerous and falling under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Such a conclusion was given to this watercolor by experts from the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Kirov Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Educational Workers.
The expert opinion literally says the following: “Signs of manipulative psychological influence were found in the Magi brochure, verbal (verbal, speech) and non-verbal (non-verbal) means were used. Non-verbal manipulative influences include the design of the cover of The Magi, which depicts an old man pointing the direction of action to a detachment of warriors. The elder is dressed in simple clothes: a long shirt, bast shoes, he just left the forest. In the description of the elder, the image of a pagan is read. The pointing gesture of the hand of the elder in relation to the soldiers testifies to his command, the possession of a certain power over them. Based on the position that the cover of the book expresses its key idea, we can conclude that the author's desire for command, power over other people, focus on the struggle.
Maybe the experts from the Institute for Advanced Studies did not know what kind of picture it was? Judging by what they printed in their conclusion, they had no idea what kind of elder was depicted there. To which work did the famous artist paint this and many other watercolors?

Of course, Pushkin is not a decree to the experts of the Kirov Institute for Advanced Studies. If he calls the sorcerer "an inspired magician", then perhaps this Pushkin did not go far from Article 282. The time will come, and experts will deal with Oleg - a pagan and an invader of our Tsaregrad, a persecutor of the Khazars, who dares to consider them, moreover, unreasonable. This is not just Article 282, but robbery, a threat to a foreign state and inciting religious hatred. And some kind of half-educated Vasnetsov dares to sing all this pagan apotheosis, involving children and youth in doubts? Anathema.

On this occasion, congratulations to the librarians. Now they will have to burn all editions of Alexander Pushkin's "Song of the Prophetic Oleg", which was illustrated by Vasnetsov, including this illustration.
I congratulate the parents - it would be good for them to check the home shelves - otherwise, when they find the “old man who commands the soldiers” at home, both children and parents will have to examine the sky in a box.

Perhaps soon we will have to congratulate the director of the Tretyakov Gallery, and the director of the Russian Museum, and the Hermitage, where such canvases are hung on the walls, which is better for experts in psychology never to see them. There is a lot of incitement and extremism.
While these directors are fighting off the church, which, in their opinion, is coveting icons and chalices, real experts are preparing a gift for them.
Article 282 has gained a new breath in connection with the Law on Terrorism and in the area of combating extremism. Those who really want to be imprisoned are imprisoned according to it, but it is impossible to imprison for some real crimes or simply there is nothing to do. So they look for such people either for extremism in their statements, books and even blogs, or for extremist books in their libraries.
Since 2007, a list of extremist materials has been compiled. It is displayed on the website of the Ministry of Justice and is printed by " Russian newspaper". It already has over 500 titles. There you can find classical compositions that are not banned anywhere in the world. For example, the “Testament” of Imam Khomeini, “The Personality of a Muslim”, forbidden even twice, the works of medieval Arab theologians. Recently, Jehovah's Witnesses brochures have been added to it. Included in the list is a book that many historians consider a fake, "Hitler's Table Talk", based on Sokurov's film "Moloch".
Most of the list is made up of unknown leaflets, small-circulation newspapers, and websites.
The list is compiled as follows: the provincial courts send their decisions to the Ministry of Justice. Courts often take place in absentia, so authors and publishers are not aware of their decisions. Moreover, the authors who are already dead do not know about this. So most readers can find out about the ban on the website of the Ministry of Justice. As a rule, this happens six months or more after the decision of the local court.
