Secret War (Secret War). Secret War Secret War

It's no secret to anyone that Avengers: Endgame is, for many reasons, the most anticipated film in the MCU. The film will run for three hours, and everyone is sure that it will be endowed with unimaginable action and heartbreaking moments. Many fans are naturally wondering what's next for the MCU after the finale." Avengers". Although this information is not confirmed, there is a possibility that in the future we will see the adaptation of the famous " Secret Wars».

« Secret Wars» revolve around the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and more famous heroes- they go to distant galaxy to fight to the death at the behest of an evil cosmic being called the Beyonder. The original classic, released in the eighties, ends with the villain's defeat, but the comic has a 2015 reimagining in which Doctor Doom gains the powers of a cosmic being and wreaks havoc in the multiverse. And it could very well turn into a full-fledged film.

Stephen McFeely & Christopher Markus, Writers Infinity Wars" And " Finals", stated in an interview that they are interested in scripting a film adaptation of " Secret Wars". The Russo brothers have already mentioned their desire to turn the comic into a movie, and the likelihood of this happening only increases with time.

Fans should definitely be excited. Because storylines have tremendous potential on screen - especially when McFeely, Marcus and Russo are at the helm.

HUGE CROSSOVER

« infinity war" turned out to be a pretty good crossover and, in general, quite large-scale project. While Marvel isn't always ready to create expansive ones all the time, it seems like the next major MCU movies will come close to matching the expansive size of their predecessors.

« Secret Wars”, in any case, an event of intergalactic scale. Watching factions of superheroes come together to try and find a way to survive on the strange and hostile planet they're trapped on makes for an endlessly immersive viewing experience - as does the part where we see how the villains fare.

It is important to note that in this case, the Beyonder would be the greatest villain in the history of the MCU. Considering that, according to the canon, he easily deals with Galactus, it's safe to say that he deserves such an honor very deservedly.

INNOVATION

It can be said that " Secret Wars were based on innovative ideas. When creating a comic book, the authors repelled as much as possible from what they wrote earlier. They were as creative as possible to make something that the fans could not even imagine.

It's worth noting that Marvel is following a similar path when it comes to movies in their own MCU. And most likely, the screen version " Secret Wars if, or when, it is made in a way that we haven't seen in any other MCU movie.

DEADPOOL AND VENOM INVOLVED

Venom and Deadpool are among the most adored Marvel heroes. True, both of them will most likely not appear in the MCU soon, especially Venom, since Sony leases the rights to use the hero.

But "Secret Wars" allows you to include both characters in the MCU, despite some difficulties. If we talk about Deadpool, then in modern realities, it is difficult to imagine a character in the MCU, where he will not be the main character.

The presence of Venom in the MCU will greatly dilute the entire roster of superheroes and add the ability to create new, exciting stories.

BATTLE BETWEEN VILLAINS

In the 2015 comic, we saw a dramatic battle between Thanos and Doctor Doom that was one of the most spectacular moments in history. The film adaptation may feature a never-before-seen opportunity for battles between villains.

Not only would that be visually cool, but it would also be relatively rare since superhero movies rarely feature supervillains fighting each other.

The only drawback may be that, taking into account the events " Finals A full adaptation of the comic may not be possible - because there is a possibility that Thanos will die in the upcoming movie. But with some alternate universe antics, this problem can be easily solved.

More importantly, the elimination of one villain still leaves plenty of others who would easily put up epic and unusual battles with each other.

DEMO OF THE BEST OF COMICS

Even though the fans love "Secret Wars" for their scale and compelling storyline, some have criticized them for trying to "sell" as much as possible in one comic.

But, in a way, these criticisms only make the potential MCU movie better. Thinking that a comic whose main purpose was to promote the franchise could now be the next big blockbuster is just a plus for the creators.

REVIVAL OF THE CANON

It is also important to remember that " Secret Wars is not a comic book series that does not have any changes in Marvel canon. Several things happen in the comics. important events, both in the original line and in the later 2015 version.

For example, Spider-Man first bonds with the Venom symbiote in the events of the comic. This could be adapted into the MCU to spawn potential stories for the future and forget about what happened in the third part " Spiderman» Sami Raimi.

Considering how difficult it would be to include all of these events in another movie, converting a comic series into a movie would undoubtedly also have huge benefits in updating the MCU canon in a way that doesn't trigger certain events in the story.

ENDLESS POTENTIAL

Had an entire potential film based on the events " Secret Wars", it will probably not be one picture - most likely there will be several parts, based on the events of which new stories and adaptations can begin.

In principle, there are many options for adaptations " Secret Wars" - original, " Secret WarsII", the 2015 adaptation - versions of the events, not to mention including the events in separate comics by those involved in the events themselves - prove that no matter how the production team views a film adaptation, they will find enough source material to implement it.

While the MCU tends to diverge from its source material, having enough material to draw inspiration from will surely give the film a bit more.

POSSIBILITY TO GROW INTO A "SECRET INVASION"

An event such as Secret Wars certainly deserves to be adapted for the big screen, due to its importance and the events that followed it. A lot has happened, as you might guess - and some events could trigger another major event in the MCU - " Secret Invasion»

IN " Secret Invasion The Thing's girlfriend, Alicia Masters, has been replaced with a Skrull, seems like a noteworthy event. A Skrull named Laya is featured in the storyline " Secret Invasion in which the Skrulls attempt to take over the Earth through covert superhero replacements.

Although " Captain Marvel ends with Carol helping the aliens find a new home planet, that doesn't mean the Skrulls aren't considering taking over Earth during the time between " Captain Marvel" And " Avengers: Endgame».

About the Skrulls in the MCU this moment there is nothing concrete: who knows, perhaps the secret takeover of the Skrulls in the MCU has already begun.

THE AVAILABILITY OF THE FANTASTIC FOUR AND THE X-MEN

The original plot Secret Wars revolves heavily around the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, so it's foolish to deny that the Avengers should be the only superhero team in a comic book adaptation. Plus, it's now made possible by Disney's acquisition of the rights to Fox.

Another question is, will the Avengers live to see such an event? Contacts of many, according to sources, end after " Finals”, and it is likely that most of the heroes will simply die and we will never see them again.

PERFECTLY MATCHES THE MCU TONE

If there is anything that helps a potential film on " secret wars"become a reality" is how well it fits into the overall "tone" that the MCU has been striving for since 2008.

After all, many of Marvel's big comic events tend to get downright pitiful in tone. That doesn't mean the MCU never does this - in " Infinity War"has had its fair share of heartbreaking moments, but some films have a few ridiculous moments of humor, and the third part" Avengers» is good and really meets this standard. It also has that perfect mixture of internal conflict between superheroes, combined with one clear "big and bad" that has been seen in countless previous Marvel films.

Any comic can be adapted to "the tone of the MCU" by the talented staff who work on it, but this becomes even more possible by starting with a comic that already fulfills many of the prerequisites found in the films before.

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH SECRET WARS! (SECRET WARS)

──────⟨ ⟡ ⟩──────

The plot features a massive superhero crossover featuring Marvel Comics characters Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Nick Fury battling a host of supervillains who have received high-tech weapons from a mysterious benefactor.

The first issue was published in April 2004, and although the plan was to publish two issues per month, there were long delays. The last fifth issue came out 21 months later, in December 2005.

The consequences of the series were reflected in the series "The Pulse" (Pulse), and Bendis used many of these characters in his comic book "New Avengers" (New Avengers).

The plot in Secret War has nothing to do with the original Secret Wars and Secret Wars II crossover miniseries published by Marvel in the mid-1980s, although the title is clearly inspired by them. Those stories received their own spiritual continuation in "Beyond!" (Beyond!) published in 2006.

Bendis noted that the Secret War was connected to the Secret Invasion, where the Skrulls infiltrated several Earth organizations.

In 2003, the director of the international security service SHIELD. Nick Fury uncovers a secret plan by Latverian Prime Minister Lucia von Bardas to supply a group of minor supervillains with advanced technology, supposedly from the previous dictator of Latveria, Doctor Doom (who was imprisoned in Hell at the time), to sow terror across the US. Fury immediately reports this to the US President, but his request for authority to overthrow the post-Doom government of Latveria is denied due to his sponsorship by the US government. Fury is furious, believing that this will lead to another 9/11.

Fury recruits Captain America, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Black Widow, Luke Cage, Wolverine, and a superhuman agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Daisy Johnson to privately attempt to covertly overthrow the Latverian government.

A year later, New York is hit by a massive retaliatory strike that sends Luke Cage into a coma and Fury and a squad of New York heroes face off against the cyborg von Bardas and her high-tech army. The attack turns out to be a trap for local superheroes when von Bardas detonates a high-tech bomb linked to equipment issued to her army of supervillains.

Daisy Johnson kills von Bardas, the bomb is defused, the supervillain army is defeated and arrested. Captain America immediately demands answers from Nick Fury about what happened. Soon they are joined by the X-Men and Wolverine, who attacks Fury, but he turns out to be a robot. The real Nick Fury has already escaped. Through the robot, Fury reveals the truth about the invasion of Latveria and that the heroes (with the exception of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Black Widow and Daisy Johnson) were brainwashed afterwards. He then announces that they will see him for the last time and he hopes that the participants in his adventure will understand that he did what he had to.

His replacement as director of SHIELD. Maria Hill learns the details of the story by interrogating Agent Johnson in real time, a storytelling tool.
