According to statistics, a large percentage of these categories of children go through reports of criminal incidents when children are not involved in school. The library is able not only to organize children's free time, but also to make this vacation truly useful.
The specialists of the children's library have developed a cultural and educational project Library extension "Touch me with kindness": organizing meaningful leisure for children of primary school age, and children from socially vulnerable families, after school through the creation of a "Library extension" on the basis of the children's library-branch No. 29 of the village of Bolshereche . The idea came from life itself: firstly, more and more children from dysfunctional families, reasons for this: asocial behavior of parents, poor living conditions. Therefore, children spend all their free time in the library, where they do their homework, read their favorite books and magazines. Secondly, in r. Bolshereche settlement 35 socially disadvantaged families with 79 children. There is a difficult situation: parents do not have a job, or work in a low-paid job. Many families live in barrack-type houses that require repair, in dormitories. Children in such families often do not have the conditions to prepare for school, they do not have computers, modern toys. Often children live in drinking families, do not have the skills that are acquired in a normal family, the experience of proper family relationships, family traditions. Thirdly, there are no extended day groups in the schools of Bolshereche village. The main idea of the project Library extension "Touch me with kindness" is to create a comfortable, favorable environment for organizing leisure activities for children of these categories. The project will help attract children to the library, stimulate interest in reading, form a positive image of books and libraries, improve the educational and cultural level of children, which will significantly affect the process preventive activities and strengthening creative contacts with organizations working with children.

Goals

  1. Creation of a new library space for organizing leisure activities for children from low-income families, families in difficult life situations, children of primary school age, based on expanding the range of library services

Tasks

  1. Create on the basis of the children's library, in after hours- "Library Extension"
  2. Development and maintenance of interest in the book, attracting children from low-income families, families in difficult life situations, children of primary school age to reading and using the library through the organization of cultural leisure

Substantiation of social significance

The problem of prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency is relevant. For its solution, it requires effective interaction and an integrated approach, in which various organizations, including libraries, face tasks aimed at implementing preventive measures.
The library is increasingly becoming one of the "sites for the prevention of neglect", as this is dictated by its status - openness and accessibility for different social strata of the population, including children from disadvantaged families and children at risk.
The last decade in our country has been marked by a noticeable increase in the number of social problems. Many social services are concerned about this situation. Our children's library does not stand aside, contributing to the moral improvement of society, to make the life of this category of children brighter and brighter.
The consistent work of the children's library in this direction will help reduce the risk of social orphanhood, restore the potential of the family, and prevent the occurrence of such asocial phenomena as neglect and juvenile delinquency.

At the first lesson in the Central Children's Library No. 14, about ten children were waiting. Moms, grandmothers and nannies brought three times as many children: school holidays and the popularity of the library played in favor of the project.

We often come here for books, - says Svetlana Revenko, the nanny of five-year-old Polina Sutapina. - We learned about the extension from the librarians. We were told that all sorts of creative activities would be organized here for children, so we came here to sculpt plasticine fairy tales.

Students Pedagogical University girls and boys in bright T-shirts are asked to make a big circle. They will spend the next three hours together, so before moving on to classes, you need to get to know everyone.

My name is Anya, and I like to play with the kids, - the counselor introduces herself, passing the word to the neighbor on the right.

After a few minutes, it becomes obvious: most of all, Polin, Sonya and Maximov are on the extension.

The afterschool program is designed for children aged 6 to 12 and consists of fun games, intellectual competitions and creative workshops. All kinds of quizzes are waiting for schoolchildren, in particular, on the work of famous children's writers. The children will learn what, for example, quilling is (the art of creating pictures from colored ribbons twisted into spirals), and they will also learn how to make plaster plates and figurines from balloons.

We focused on creativity, - says Artem Chikin, chief specialist of the Mosgortour teaching staff training department. - In a free and relaxed atmosphere, girls and boys will learn something interesting for themselves and find new friends.

In addition, the children always have the opportunity to sit in the reading room and leaf through rare books from the rich repositories of libraries or prepare for lessons “for tomorrow”.

If necessary, counselors will help students cope with homework.

At the first lesson, no one had to do homework, so immediately after the outdoor games, the girls and boys sat down to draw.

If you mix dark yellow and purple paints, you get black! - with the intonation of the discoverer says fourth-grader Maxim Bazulev.

This is a very fast car, - the student explains his choice. - She can accelerate to 235 kilometers per hour.

From the finished drawings, the counselors immediately make an impromptu exhibition. In the gallery of works - a truck from a third grade student Matvey Medvedenko; the volcano that nine-year-old Grigory Rakov saw in the summer in Spain, climbing Mount Ifach with his mother; ballerinas dancing on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater - the cherished dream of two best friends Alisa Rozanova and Liza Ledeneva.

The extension in the capital's libraries is still open every Wednesday and Thursday from 15:00 to 18:00.

You can join the project at any time. All that is needed for this is to sign up the parents of the child for an after-school program by calling the library.

DIRECT SPEECH

Natalia Loseva, strategic director of Mosgortour:

- In that academic year many metropolitan schools have switched to a system of paid extensions. Our project is free, which will be a nice bonus for parents. Now three children's libraries are participating in the project: No. 14, No. 19 and No. 12. Therefore, in November-December, about 200 schoolchildren will be able to visit pilot extension programs. But this month we will understand how much the Prodlenka project is in demand.

OPINION

Natalya Elchaninova, mother of a 1st grade student of gymnasium No. 1257:

- My son's classes at school end at one o'clock in the afternoon, and he immediately stays at school, where they not only play with them, walk in the fresh air, but also school teachers do their homework. It is very comfortable. We came to this library for company: the parents of Sophia, my niece, told us about the extension. And if a similar after-school program appeared in our library, which is closer to home, we would gladly go to it. In the meantime, unfortunately, we do not have the opportunity to go here permanently. I hope that the project will become popular and appear in all children's libraries.

BY THE WAY

Each school independently determines the amount of fees charged from parents for the supervision and care of children in after-school groups. The average cost in Moscow is 2333 rubles. The amount includes the payment of lunches, as well as the salary of educators.

For children and their parents, grandparents from February in the children's department of the central library began to work "Biblio-Extension for your child." Now any student in the city of Toguchin can come to the "Biblio-Prodlenka" after school and this is a real gift to parents. Five days a week, from Monday to Friday, the children had the opportunity to do school homework in a quiet and comfortable environment, use the necessary literature, and seek help from electronic resources in the electronic information hall of public access. And, of course, they will not be left without the help of specialists from the institution.

The basis of the program "Biblio-Prodlenka for your child" is creative and intellectual activities and games aimed at developing the child's personal qualities, revealing his artistic abilities and developing teamwork skills. Children will be able to not only do their homework, but also get acquainted with new books presented in the library. Reveal your Creative skills at master classes, which will be held by librarians.
We invite you to come with the whole family to the children's department of the Central Bank. Joint visits to the library and reading a book or magazine, communication about what has been read brings family members together, unites them spiritually and instills in children the need to read on their own. Therefore, it is certainly worth finding the opportunity to come to us and read something to your family favorite.
Every last Sunday of the month, the library draws lottery tickets, which are received by active readers of the library for free.
