There is a serious talk about the emerging new science, the main task of which is to change the dominant theory and reorganize the entire educational system on the basis of innovative transformations.

Innovative pedagogy (as we will conditionally call it) requires a change in the paradigm of education. Paradigm(from the Greek paradigma - sample, standard) - the dominant theory underlying the solution of theoretical and practical problems. According to the innovators, the classical pedagogical theory is hopelessly outdated, and it is impossible to build on it the education of current generations in the new conditions.

Soviet pedagogy has especially lagged behind, the ideas of which continue to feed the domestic system of education and upbringing. Even the newly “combed” methodological schemes do not yet allow a real reform of practice, since their methodological foundations remain unchanged.

The life of several generations of Russian schoolchildren and teachers fell on a period of fierce struggle between idealistic and socialist pedagogy. The first one was discredited and destroyed, the second one was not fully comprehended and not completed. Now at a crossroads. Disputes flared up with renewed vigor - which coast to land on? On what theory to educate the growing Russia?

If we return to the mainstream of the world development of pedagogical thought, then we should revive the methodological basis of classical pedagogy - the principle of natural conformity of Ya.A. Comenius. Soviet pedagogy declared it "idealistic" and replaced it with an obscure requirement to take into account the age characteristics of schoolchildren. Due to the abundance of ideological dogmas, Soviet pedagogy has never been a science. It is enough to recall its original methodological principle about the innate equality of people, about their equal opportunities in training and education. That this is not the case is evidenced by at least our bitter domestic experience: in 1997, about 2 million schoolchildren dropped out of schools in the Russian Federation for various reasons, mainly because of their inability and unwillingness to study. Much can be corrected by upbringing, but nature cannot be changed.

That's in in general terms situation in pedagogical science. Innovation is essential here. Which path pedagogical theory will take, and the school after it, will depend on how we comprehend the deep foundations of the educational process, on what methodology we will build a new science and practice in educating young Russia.

Humanism(from lat. Humanus - human, humane) - a holistic concept of man as the highest value in the world. The main provision of this concept is the protection of the dignity of the individual, the recognition of her rights to freedom, happiness, the development and manifestation of her abilities, the creation of appropriate favorable conditions for this (life, work, education, etc.). Humanism is a set of ideas and values ​​that affirm the universal significance of human existence in general and the individual in particular. As a system of value orientations and attitudes, humanism acquires the significance of a social ideal.

Humanistic Pedagogy - system scientific theories, affirming the pupil in the role of an active, conscious, equal participant in the educational process, developing according to its capabilities.

Why, despite all the obviousness, attractiveness and productivity of the ideas of humanistic pedagogy, just as they have not yet mastered mass practice, have they not become the foundation for building pedagogical systems? The answer is obvious: totalitarian states are not interested in the implementation of humanistic ideas, they order, feed and implement authoritarian pedagogy. Having proclaimed a person the highest value, our state opened the door for the penetration of humanistic ideas. Not very humane so far, domestic pedagogy, although slowly, is turning towards this innovative process, involving practice in it. The pace of humanization of school education is still low, but the process, as they say, has begun.

From the standpoint of humanism, the ultimate goal of education is , so that each pupil can become an authorized subject of activity, knowledge and communication, a free, amateur person. The degree of humanization of the educational process is determined by the extent to which this process creates the prerequisites for the self-realization of the individual, the disclosure of all the natural inclinations inherent in it, its ability to freedom, responsibility and creativity.

Humanistic pedagogy is focused on the personality. Her features: shifting priorities to the development of mental, physical, intellectual, moral and other spheres of the personality instead of mastering the amount of information and forming a certain range of skills and abilities; focusing efforts on the formation of a free, independently thinking and acting personality, a humanist citizen capable of making an informed choice in a variety of educational and life situations; providing appropriate organizational conditions for the successful achievement of the reorientation of the educational process.

The humanization of the educational process should be understood as a rejection of authoritarian pedagogy with its pedagogical pressure on the individual, which denies the possibility of establishing normal human relations between the teacher and students, as a transition to student-oriented pedagogy, which attaches absolute importance to the personal freedom and activity of students.

To humanize this process means to create such conditions in which the student cannot help but study, cannot study below his or her abilities, cannot remain an indifferent participant in educational affairs or an outside observer of a stormy current life. Humanistic pedagogy requires school adaptation to students, providing an atmosphere of comfort and “psychological safety”.

The practice of the humanistic school has already developed specific forms and methods of innovation. Among them:

    Differentiation of teaching and educational activities.

    Individualization of the processes of education and training.

    Creation of favorable conditions for the development of inclinations and abilities of each pupil.

    Formation of homogeneous classes and parallels.

    Comfort of teaching and educational activities.

    Psychological safety, protection of students.

    Faith in the student, his strength and capabilities.

    Acceptance of the student for who they are.

    Ensuring the success of training and education.

    Changing the target setting of the school.

    Validity of the level of development of each student.

Humanistic pedagogy is difficult to evaluate statistically. However, it has been found that authenticity, empathy and unconditional approval correlate positively with student development and negatively with problems such as discipline and negative attitudes towards school.
