After enduring several months, I nevertheless decided to turn to these neighbors, to ask them to humanly stop regular night parties.

Before that, I asked the concierges of our entrance who lives in the apartment above us. The answer followed in a whisper: "Drug addicts ..." (the concierges in our entrance are citizens of a foreign state).

My neighbors are drug addicts

Having risen to a neighbor at about 1 o'clock in the morning during their next walk, which was accompanied by obscene abuse, screams and beating of the dog (the owner's screams and the following squeals of the animal and blows on the radiator were very clearly audible), I knocked on the door and asked the owner of the apartment, whose voice came from behind the door, to stop the night noise. During another nightly orgy in the apartment on the floor above, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, I again went up to my neighbor, more determined than usual, and my wife could no longer stop me. Knocking on the door, I demanded from my neighbor to leave the apartment, inside which the TV set was literally bursting. I tried to convey to this comrade that he would let the neighbors sleep peacefully at night, stopping his nightly companies, rampage and beating of the animal. At the noise from the neighbor's apartment, another man ran out, apparently in the same state as the owner of the apartment - alcohol or drug intoxication. That night, I miraculously avoided contact with all the visitors to the ill-fated apartment No. 221, having managed to get out in time. The memory of that meeting was only a damaged right hand.

After that, the neighbor and his guests quieted down for a couple of months, but soon everything started with renewed vigor. No matter what I've done in these couple of years. And the police squad called, wrote a statement about the night noise, turned to the elder at the entrance. He even wrote a letter to the Department of Internal Affairs for the Southern Administrative District of Moscow with a request to provide assistance. A few months later, the dog that lived in the apartment on the floor above was no longer seen or heard ...

There was a period in our lives when the neighbors upstairs were quiet. This film came to my mind last night, after another attempt to calm the violent neighbors on the floor above, which was not possible even with the help of a police squad that arrived on call.

Another test

Last weekend was a real test for me and my wife! Another brawl in the 221st apartment began on Friday late in the evening and ended by Saturday morning, and all this time heavy objects fell on the floor and someone dragged something along the floor, while speaking like a mother. Woke up several times during the night, but endured, apparently a dream after working week did his job.

Until Saturday afternoon, there is silence from above; after dinner, an incomprehensible fuss began, blows on the floor, noise, obscenities, groans ... At 1 o'clock in the morning from Saturday to Sunday, unable to bear the brawl that had flared up by that time, I called the police squad. Employees of the police department of microdistrict Biryulyovo - Vostochnoye arrived in about 10 minutes. Naturally, no one on the floor above opened the door for them, but in the apartment after the departure of the police, after 20 minutes until the morning, it was quiet.

The whole Sunday was like Saturday - we had to hear and feel everything that happened in the apartment on the floor above.

But the real test awaited us only in the evening. I was in the bathroom when my wife called me through the door - she said that the apartment smelled of smoke. I took her words with a feeling of annoyance: probably one of the neighbors burned something in their apartment and now the smell has penetrated into our apartment through thin panel walls. But after a few minutes the smell became unbearable. Without a shadow of a doubt, knowing in advance where the smoke was coming from in our apartment, I got dressed and ran out to the landing on the top floor to the already familiar apartment No. 221. The space in front of the door of this apartment was filled with acrid sweetish smoke, which happens when rags burn. He knocked hard on the steel door of the apartment in which the fire was starting. Silence. Tried a few more times. Unsuspecting neighbors on the floor appeared at the knock. Briefly explaining the situation to the tenants, he rushed home for the phone.

It took another couple of minutes to call the police on duty in the Biryulyovo-Vostochnoye microdistrict, report the incident and ask to call firefighters. Having asked my wife to prepare for the worst, at about 19:45 I went down to the 1st floor, from where I could contact the emergency dispatch service of our microdistrict, reported the incident, asked to send an electrician and call firefighters. Well, just in case, let the concierge know about the trouble.

Returned to the 9th floor. Smoke gradually filled the entire area, became thicker. He asked the neighbors for the key to the window frames and opened access to the air. The concierge went up to the floor, found the phone number of the owner of the apartment and called him, talked to him in broken Russian for a couple of minutes, after which the victim's neighbor picked up the phone, informed him about the fire and asked him to urgently come home. The answer was expected: “I won’t go anywhere, I just left. Firefighters open the door."

What struck: Firstly, the neighbors of the victim only learned about the fire from me, when I was pounding on the door of the burning apartment, and the site was already well filled with smoke. Secondly, they stubbornly refused to believe that the fire started in this apartment. To dispel their doubts, my wife first went down to the 7th floor and then went up to the 10th to check for smoke.

The tenants sat peacefully in their cozy apartments, as if nothing of what was happening around them had touched them at all! Only when it became clear that their apartments were inevitably threatened by fire, they began to move, and even then they did not leave the apartments, but on the contrary, they closed and hid inside!

After 10-15 minutes, when the local police inspector arrived at the scene, I was on the street near the entrance and waited for the fire brigade to arrive. A minute or two later, the lights of a fire truck appeared at the beginning of the street. A team of four employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived - a driver and three fire rescuers. I briefly outlined the situation to the senior officer (in any case, it seemed so to me at that moment - he was almost twice the age of the others), giving all the information about the source of ignition. One of the arrived firefighters, loaded with equipment and necessary equipment, was already moving to the entrance in 10 seconds ...

We took the elevator up. Firefighters, having assessed the situation and ordered the residents to leave the apartments (as far as I remember, this demand was ignored by them ...), set to work. "Bulgarian" was cut out one of the locks that closed the door, and it opened.

Smoke billowed from the apartment. Two firefighters, wearing insulating gas masks, rushed into the apartment one after another, lighting the way with lanterns. Their original goal was to locate the occupants and assess the extent of the fire. The third rescuer at that time was preparing a fire hose on the floor and coordinated the actions of his outfit on the radio. An ambulance has already arrived at the entrance. After 7-10 seconds, the rescuers came out of the apartment to the outside, reported that the fire did not have time to flare up (as it became known a little later, the mattress and the bed on which he was lying began to burn) and the situation was under control.

They ran back to the apartment where they worked for several minutes. One of the firefighters dragged a burning mattress out of the apartment onto the landing near the window; filled it with water from a bucket. The source of ignition was eliminated approximately 5-7 minutes after the door was opened, but the smoke covered the entire floor and had already spread several floors up and down. As soon as the door of the apartment was opened, the windows on the flights of stairs were opened for fresh air, but still the stench was strong. The elevator was turned off, air was forced through its shaft to ensure full ventilation in the entrance.

From time to time, frightened neighbors began to appear on the floor area, but by this time everything was over.

Thanking the firefighters who did the work on the next call and regularly risked their lives, I heard in response: “Happy New Year! Regular fire. It could have been worse, they called me on time.”

It was in the old New Year, which, like a new one, often ends in household fires - forgotten and turned on household electrical appliances ignite, Christmas tree decorations and spruces themselves burn, drunken residents burn from unextinguished cigarettes. So my own brother a few years ago on New Year's Eve stayed with his family on the street: they left to visit friends, and returned to the ashes. It turned out that the chronic alcoholics who lived below the brother's floor fell asleep, but before that they smoked in the house. They died themselves and left several families homeless. Until 4 am, my wife and I endured thunder, which was the result of rearranging furniture, as well as a stream of drunken speech, loud footsteps and blows to the walls and floor. My wife barely kept me from going upstairs and smashing everything to hell there!
