Book store. Direct speech

Behind this ridiculous design lies absolutely sufficient functionality - we can find a book, read it and, moreover, download it. In general, the application is a mobile client of the Ukrainian book server (library). Since the site is Ukrainian, in the conditions of the almost complete absence of copyright control, it functions perfectly, and since the site is generally little known (unlike the well-known Flibusta), it also works in Russia.

So, the application ... Everything is trite - on an incomprehensible background "under the skin" in an incomprehensible font, as many as six points of the main interface are written. At this moment, Flat UI from Google comes to mind ... I can’t say that it is sorely lacking here, but somehow it was possible to make the appearance more accurate.

But the functionality of the program is absolutely sufficient. So, the very first item "Search" will allow us to find the right book: you can search both by author and by title - all in one field without the need for any specification - just write the right one. There is no contextual search - we write right away, then click on the button.

Although ... There is still one advantage of searching alphabetically: with such a transition to the author, all his books are ordered by series, but if you just search through the search bar, then there will be a regular list.

For inexplicable reasons, I like the book's annotation window - this is almost the only element to which I have no complaints.

A small description, a picture, and a couple of buttons. That's right! And also, pay attention, two magnifying glass icons: the first one, which is opposite the "Author" field, will take us to the author's page, which is the same as when going "alphabetically", and the second magnifying glass will open a list of all books of a similar genre, it is not clear which orderly manner.

The heart next to the title is expectedly tapy - add the book to favorites, the button "Copyright Holders" - a tribute to fashion and traditions (the fight against piracy has never been so naive).

The category "Readable" is somewhat missing, to be honest here.

The "Download" button in one click will save the book in "txt" format to the sdcard / MyBookshelf folder.

After, this file can be opened by absolutely any reader. Of course, text file formatting is inferior to electronic formats like fb2 and epub, but it is suitable for 100% of programs, including the most elementary built-in file manager viewers. Why, a text file can even be transferred to a non-smartphone, where it can be viewed. In a word, with the general big minus "txt", it also has its pluses.

Well, now to the reading mode. Here is how it looks like:

Flipping - only horizontal swipe, animation - only "Shift", everything is fast, without friezes and lags. Again, punctures: there is no full-screen mode, and the reading progress indicator (the number of page turns is measured) is somehow not aesthetic.

There is also a small menu. When I wrote "small", I meant this word in every sense: a very small button, very small items - it's hard to hit with a finger.

But everything you need is there: you can save the current reading position (only one per book - making a dozen bookmarks will not work), you can add the book to "Favorites", "Go to the page" - works and acts as a ridiculous replacement for the missing table of contents (I did not say The program does not support a table of contents and there is no list of sections.If you read the book in order, there will be no difficulties, for example, in the first months I did not even realize that there was no content).

And, of course, "Settings". Only five points - it's hard to get confused, but they are quite enough to adjust to comfortable parameters. So, there are quite a lot of background colors (you can’t choose your own, but also the existing one - “with your head”).

Forced brightness and disabling the sleep mode of the screen save very often, explanations, I think, are not needed here. But the font size is limited to 32 points. To say that this is not enough, I can not.

Well, there is even a font. At the same time, an interesting glitch (or feature) - the standard font "Candara" does not allow the text to occupy the entire possible area, but all the others are normal, there are no problems.

In general, there could have been more settings: hyphenation, indentation, kerning, selection of paragraphs, but what is there is enough.

Returning to the main screen (yes, if you do not leave a bookmark when you exit "reading", the next time the book will open from the beginning), we will see the already "familiar" categories: "Favorites", "My Shelf", "Bookmarks". The first one is just our books that we have marked, the second - those that we have downloaded, and the third - these are our read books, but only those to which we have left bookmarks.

The list of genres at first causes only sadness - it’s very poor, but having tapped on any category, we will expand it and make sure that everything, in principle, is not bad.

Now about the essence - there are a lot of books. Just very. They are added by ordinary users without any payment, respectively, and reading is also absolutely free. Here it is completely. Moreover, all books initially have full access, moreover, many books that are closed on Flibust are open here. But due to the fact that the filling is carried out by ordinary users, and the library is somewhat unknown, new items get here with a significant time delay and you can find reading material here much later than on alternative sources, and, moreover, adequate paid publishing platforms.

Opinion

I, in principle, use the Moon + reader with a couple of connected OPDS catalogs, and I have enough to satisfy all the reading needs, but, as it turned out, for some people OPDS is difficult (not even difficult, but inconvenient or unpleasant, I don’t know - but they don’t like it, a fact), and these people try to look for books in a browser search engine. This is where the Bookstore is a great alternative.

Or another example - a very functional reader program, as a rule, is complicated by its settings, the need to identify a folder with books and other chips, and the program in question will also save here.

Yes, you noticed that there are no banners anywhere, but I wrote that everything is free? It is clear that there is a pitfall - this is a full-screen advertisement that starts when you change screens (not paging through the book, but switching from settings to search or exiting the book, for example). It appears not so often, but once every 15 minutes for sure (but, once again, it never came out while reading).

Size - about 6.4 MB, in principle, not much, at least much smaller than most readers.

And so, in general, I have had the application for a long time, I rarely use it, although sometimes it happens, but I don’t delete it - a certain amount of usefulness is clearly traced behind the ridiculous appearance. And the developers even respond to comments and try to improve something. In a word, I advise the softinka, after all, to try it out. Here.

We present to your attention a useful application " Book store", created on Android, designed for true book lovers. Before you is a whole library e-books distributed free of charge. With its help, you can always enjoy your favorite works at your leisure. It presents novels, thrillers, detective stories, plays, novellas, religious reading and more. There are creations of modern authors, classics. No age restrictions and paid elements. Financial investments are not required and knowledge can be replenished without payment. If desired, something can be added to favorites for quick access. In addition, the developers from the company "Hertz" took care of the availability of an extremely comfortable search: search by genre, author, title. The interface is incredibly user-friendly, you can easily figure it out. Almost everything is in Russian. As for the design, it is made in the style of minimalism and turned out to be nice, of high quality. One significant drawback is the presence of advertising content. Here everyone can enjoy poetry, adventure, fantasy.

Great project" Book store" was downloaded from the official resource more than 1 million times. The file size is 5.4 Mb. It can be used on tablets, smartphones. The recommended version should not be lower than 4.0. The main menu has the following tabs: "Search", "Genres", "My bookshelf", "Authors raitings", "Favorites", "Bookmarks". You can add bookmarks to get back where you left off. Remember that the application needs an Internet connection. This is an amazing reader that allows you to change the text font and produce other manipulations. You can preview the screenshots, read the comments of other users. Be sure to advise your friends, comrades, work colleagues. Everyone will be satisfied. Download now " Book store" on your own devices with the Android operating platform, read for fun!

Bookshop is an application for book lovers who prefer to read on their Android device. This reader has its advantages in use. For example, it provides access to a huge library of works.

Library

Most of the popular works in the application are available for free. First of all, this applies to authors who have left our world. Modern books most often have to be bought. The program offers the option of reading online or downloading a file to the device's memory, which will make it possible to read without connecting to the Internet. The download process itself, in addition to being too long, does not cause any complaints.

When searching, it is allowed to drive in the title of the work or search by genre/author. Search by title, unfortunately, does not always work correctly - it is better to "break through" works by the name of the writer. Books can be added to a virtual shelf (similar to the "Favorites" section). Bookstore lets you create bookmarks, as well as change the font style, scroll speed, and page background.

Flaws

Unfortunately, in the online library that the Bookstore provides access to, not all books are offered for free. Some contain only an introductory part - you will have to buy it to get the full work.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the interface - frankly, it leaves much to be desired. the main problem lies in poor "responsiveness" - some buttons freeze, triggering every other time, and the text "sticks" to the edges of the pages while reading due to the lack of margins.

Key Features

  • allows you to read books offline and online;
  • contains both free and paid works;
  • offers search by authors, genres and title;
  • has not the most convenient and "responsive" interface;
  • contains settings for page display, scrolling and font;
  • makes it possible to leave bookmarks to continue reading in the future;
  • works on all current versions of the Android operating system;
  • distributed free of charge.

Collection of documents of the era

From the death of John, a little more than a century passed: the most difficult century, probably, for the entire time of the existence of the Russian Church. When the persecution of the church ceased, we witnessed in the period from 1988 to 2009 the work of cathedrals and cathedrals that adopted a series of measures (summarized by the 2009 Rules) that have in mind the restoration of the church in its pseudo-imperial forms. There is nothing more hostile to the spirit of Russian Orthodoxy than this movement of the episcopal oligarchy to create quasi-Catholicism in our country not at the level of dioceses (there is a long-standing, stagnant reality), but as a total reality, embracing the church as a whole. The matter of unity of faith, as Fr. John Verkhovsky, not only has it not been decided, but it is only just beginning - after the Soviet suspended animation. As an appendix, I published a collection of my sermons and articles "From the Gospel to Edinoverie", which was a reaction to the Charter of 2009 with its quasi-Catholic orientation. There are no words, now I would formulate many of these positions a little differently. However, the book retained that first freshness and clarity of vision, which is often more important than further extensive learning. The book is also accompanied by two detailed articles: historical - by R. A. Mayorov, and mine - philosophical. A must-read for everyone involved in the history of the Russian Church, Old Believers, protest movements, for historians, philosophers, and theologians. The best introduction to the issue of common faith as a movement.

Life and Works of Archbishop Andrei (Prince Ukhtomsky)

The book is dedicated to one of the brightest and at the same time the most mysterious figures in the history of Russian Orthodoxy in the 20th century. A descendant of Rurik and Genghis Khan, the brother of the outstanding physiologist Academician Alexei Ukhtomsky, Bishop Andrei (1872-1937) was not only a prominent church hierarch, but also a talented publicist, an active public and political figure, an original social thinker and a thoughtful researcher of the national socio-cultural tradition. His scientific biography is at the same time a portrait of Russia of that time, its spiritual throwing and everyday life. public life, and not only in the capitals, but also in those regions where Bishop Andrei happened to live and work, from his native Rybinsk to Ufa. Among the key themes of the historiosophical reflections of Archbishop Andrei are the fate of Russian Orthodoxy and the search for adequate responses to the challenges that the 20th century posed for Russian Orthodoxy, Russian culture and society. 2nd edition, revised

Parallel history of Russia

or Faith of my fathers

"A Parallel History of Russia, or the Faith of My Fathers" by Leonid Sevastyanov opens a new book series"View of the Cathedral". It will publish popular and scientific books, the topics of which are connected in one way or another with the All-Russian Local Council of 1917-1918, whose anniversary in currently widely noted. It was at the Council that the issues of unity of faith and the removal of "oaths" from the Old Believers were actively discussed. The oaths were taken only at the Local Council of 1971, but the Council of the revolutionary period prepared everything for this. The author of the published book shows the vicissitudes of Russian history through the prism of the history of the Old Believers, while finding the most controversial and debatable moments of the persecution of dissent in our country.

Archpriest Avvakum and the Beginning of the Schism

The classic work of the outstanding French Slavist Pierre Pascal (1890-1983), which brought him well-deserved worldwide fame, has been translated into Russian for the first time. For him, the future professor of the Department of Russian Language and Literature at the Sorbonne was awarded degree doctor of Slavic studies "with the highest honors". Immediately after its first edition in 1938, the monograph for many decades became a reference book on the history of the Russian religious cataclysm of the second half of XVII centuries and has not lost its scientific value to this day. The book, written on the basis of a comparative study of numerous primary sources with which the French scholar had a chance to work in the Moscow archives in the 1920s and 1930s, is the most complete biography of Archpriest Avvakum in the world, a kind of encyclopedia of the early Old Believers. Written by beautiful literary language, with the involvement of a huge layer of documents of that era, a work that can be called a model of scientific prose, in detail and objectively. 2nd edition, revised.
