Each archive has its own history. The exact date of the formation of the archive in the Kudymkar region has not been established, there is only information about the appointment of Pestov Artamon Nikitievich as the head of the archive of the Kudymkar region in 1938.
Not having achieved a separate room for the regional archive, A.N. Pestov resigned in 1939. Subsequently, a frequent change of the heads of the archive can be traced.
In connection with the formation of the Beloevsky district and the subsequent abolition of the Kudymkarsky district, the Beloevsky district archive was formed. In 1959, the Beloevsky district was abolished. Documents of the Beloevsky District Archive are transferred to the newly formed Kudymkar District Archive. Documents of the Kudymkar district archive were kept in the Komi-Permyak district archive. For a long time, the district and district archives were located in the building of the Kudymkar boarding school. In 2011, the Agency for Archives of the Perm Territory announced a competition for the best municipal archive. Our archival department took third place in the competition. In 2014, the archival department took part in the regional competition in the nomination "The best municipal archive for the use of documents for cultural and educational purposes."

Drawing up lists of organizations - sources of staffing for the department, approved by the Administration of the municipal district and agreed with the Agency for Archives of the Perm Territory;
Selection and acceptance of permanent storage documents in the department;
The department carries out organizational and methodological management of the activities of departmental archives and the organization of documents in the office work of local governments, municipal organizations; assistance to organizations of other forms of ownership in the preservation, acquisition and use of their archives, including:
Keeping records of documents stored in organizations - sources of acquisition;
Consideration and approval of regulations on the archives of organizations, expert commissions, instructions for office work, as well as in the prescribed manner - nomenclatures of files of organizations - sources of staffing the department;
Consideration and submission to the Agency for Archives of the Perm Territory received from organizations - sources of acquisition of inventories of cases of permanent storage and personnel;
Consideration and approval of inventories of cases on the personnel of organizations that are not sources of recruitment, the documents of which are subject to acceptance by the department;
Providing organizational and methodological assistance, holding meetings, seminars, consultations on the organization and methodology of working with documents;
