The following types of scholarships have been established in the Smolensk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "NRU MPEI":

Material support to needy students is provided in five categories-bases and is determined by applying coefficients to the standard of state academic scholarships for the formation of a scholarship fund established by a government decree Russian Federation No. 1390 dated 12/17/2016

To apply for financial support, the student must contact their Educational Department.

The basis for the provision of material support is a personal application of the student, filled out by hand with the obligatory indication of the date of completion and the category-ground for the provision of material support, confirmed by the application of the full set of documents indicated in Table 1.

A student can use financial support no more than once a semester. By category 5.1. and 5.2. the number of times financial support is provided to students is accepted at a meeting of the MAI Scholarship Commission, depending on the circumstances that have arisen.

If, when applying for financial support under category 3.1., the ticket was purchased in a non-documentary form ( e-ticket), then a boarding pass is required to confirm the fact of the flight. The boarding pass is an integral document when checking in for a flight. In the absence of a boarding pass, it is necessary to provide a certificate containing the information necessary to prove the flight, issued by the air carrier or its representative.

The basis for the provision of material support in categories 2.5., 3.1. in case of early delivery examination session and, accordingly, early travel / flight is a copy of the student's record book with the seal of the dean's office / directorate of the educational unit indicating the date of the session.

Certificates confirming the validity of the reason for providing material support must be valid at the time of submission of the executed order to the scholarship group of the settlement and cash department of the Financial Accounting and Financial Control Department (SAC, room 131).

During your stay in academic leave for medical reasons, as well as maternity leave, parental leave until they reach the age of three, students can apply for financial support.

Financial support for needy students

Material support for students in dire need (hereinafter referred to as APOS Material Support) is provided to students studying full-time at MAI, which may include:

  • students are orphans;
  • students are disabled;
  • students with children;
  • students - participants in hostilities;
  • students from large families;
  • students - Chernobyl victims;
  • students with disabled parents, retired parents;
  • students from incomplete families;
  • students who are on dispensary records with chronic diseases;
  • students living in hostels;
  • students who do not receive a scholarship.

APOS financial support - a quarterly payment in the amount of 3,600 rubles (1,200 rubles per month).

In order to qualify for an APOS Financial Support assignment, a student must submit to their faculty/institute/branch a personal application along with proof of eligibility for APOS Financial Support. Documents (including certificates) confirming the right to receive APOS Financial Support must be valid throughout the entire period of assignment of APOS Financial Support.

Students who have applied for APOS Financial Assistance by category:

  • students are orphans;
  • students are disabled;
  • students with children;
  • students - participants in hostilities
financial support is mandatory.

For students who have applied for other categories, the payment is assigned depending on the documents submitted for the provision of APOS Financial Support. The following categories have the lowest priority for assignment.

Material aid- this is a cash payment that can be provided to students and graduate students studying at the expense of the federal budget, within the funds allocated to an educational unit (phystech school, institute).


The basis for the provision of material support is the application from the student and the supporting documents attached to the application. An application for financial assistance can be completed and submitted to the directorate of the educational unit or completed on the spot.

The educational unit reviews applications from students on a monthly basis and makes its decision.

Material support for students

    1. Financial assistance is a form of social support for needy students and is a lump sum payment. Financial assistance can be provided to students on a personal application with supporting documents attached in the following cases:
      • Difficult financial or family situation (orphans, students with disabilities, Chernobyl survivors, participants in hostilities, from single-parent or large families with a child, non-working parents, parents of disabled people or pensioners, with chronic diseases, high travel expenses to the place of study and permanent residence, etc. .p. categories);
      • Death of a close relative (mother, father, wife, husband, child)
      • Accident, natural disaster, other circumstances that entailed severe consequences (theft, fire, etc.);
      • the birth of a child;
      • Severe illness or surgery;

In the event of the death of a student, financial assistance may be provided to parents or family members to partially pay for the costs associated with the funeral.

  1. Students from among orphans and children left without parental care, studying full-time, are paid an annual allowance in the amount of 3-month scholarships, established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, for the acquisition educational literature and writing utensils.
  2. Students who completed maternity leave, benefits are paid in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Nonresident students may be partially reimbursed expenses for travel to a permanent place of residence during the holidays.

Attached to the application are certificates or photocopies of documents confirming eligibility for financial assistance categories, namely:

Orphans- a photocopy of the death certificate of the parents (court order on deprivation of parental rights).
Disabled- certificate of disability.
Chernobyl- a certificate of residence in the zone exposed to radiation from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Participants in hostilities- A photocopy of the certificate of a participant in hostilities.
Incomplete family– a copy of the certificate of divorce (or death) + a copy of the passport of the parent with whom the student remained (pages: photo, marital status).
The large family- a copy of the certificate large family; if the younger one is over 16 years old, then a certificate from the educational institution.
