How can we protect our planet. Eco Inform - news agency. Burning environmentally friendly items

Who would have thought a hundred years ago that the Earth would be in danger? Moreover, the danger is the fault of the people themselves! Unfortunately, back in the 80s of the 20th century, scientists observing the state of the environment began to sound the alarm.

For about thirty years now, the question of the safety of the planet, as well as its salvation from destruction, has been acute. What is happening, is it possible to fix everything, how to live in harmony with nature and with each other? You will find answers to all these questions below.

What was the planet before...

The Lord created the Universe, stars, planets, satellites. But at the same time, he chose the only planet on which there should be life - this is the Earth. At first there was water, then land gradually appeared, and continents formed. Then the planet began to fill with flora and fauna. The first people appeared. As is known from history, they obtained food from bushes, plants, used herbs, hunted animals. Later they began to build houses from natural raw materials. But this did not worsen the ecological situation. Why? Because man took only what nature gave.

At present, disputes about how old the planet Earth is do not stop. In fact, you need to think about something else: how to protect it from destruction through the fault of people. We must go back to history to understand what our mistake is.

Comparison of past and future

Since ancient times, people have used the material that they found around them: stone, earth, water, plants. Stone, earth were used in construction, and water and plants were used more for food. Of course, if waste was formed, then they decomposed naturally or again became a full-fledged object of nature.

Also, there was no powerful technique for extracting oil, ore from the depths of the earth. In addition, horses with chariots, carts or wagons were always used as transport. There were no factories. There were more villages than cities. The only thing that could disturb ancient scientists, especially astronomers, was meteorites, which from time to time fly past or almost above the surface of the Earth. But, of course, even at the present time it is impossible to create conditions for the safety of the planet, it is very difficult to control the elements, especially those of huge masses and sizes.

Further, it should be noted that never before the 19th-20th centuries were any devices capable of causing harm created. There were no power plants, nuclear power facilities. People have always used what they have: they need lighting and heat - they make a fire, they need to wash themselves - they bathe in the cleanest reservoirs and so on.

Modern furnishings

The third millennium is an era not only information technologies but also the ecological crisis. There are very few places left in the world untouched by human hands. In addition, with winds and precipitation, toxic substances are carried through the air, settling everywhere.

The first and most global man-made disaster occurred in 1986 during the explosion of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Within a radius of more than two hundred kilometers, the earth was contaminated with radiation particles that could not only kill all life, but also be transported with rain and wind to other regions.

The automotive industry also began to actively develop. If at the end of the 80s of the 20th century not all people could buy a personal car, now one person can have two of them, and a family can have as many as five! But what harm do cars bring? We are talking about exhaust gases that fly into the air. To understand how polluted environment millions of cars in the metropolis, you need to go for a few days to nature, far from settlements, where the air is cleanest. If you start a car engine in such a pristine place as a forest and a field, you can smell an unpleasant exhaust smell that sharply pollutes the environment. Now imagine that in the cities we only breathe fumes, we just got used to it! Therefore, the security of the planet is at risk.

Due to multiple emissions of CO 2 (carbon dioxide), the temperature in locality much higher than it should be. After all, harmful impurities fly out of the internal combustion engine through the exhaust pipe with a current of hot air. Why is there a difference of 5 or even 10 degrees Celsius? Because the exhaust gases of cars, the walls of high buildings made of reinforced concrete, the fumes and smoke from factories, thermal power plants heat up the air a lot. Global warming is another environmental problem that can slowly but surely lead to the death of all living things.

If you plunge into the past again, you will notice that our ancestors traded things, products by weight, or prepared environmentally friendly packaging. There were no plastic bags, no cling film, no wrappers. There were also no plastic bottles. All these are materials of artificial origin - non-combustible, indestructible. In addition, they are produced in large quantities. Modern people throw them in landfills, leave them in nature. Thus, the garbage becomes more and more.

There was a lot of noise:

  • transport,
  • music,
  • construction equipment,
  • cleaning units and so on.

In addition to the above, there are many more factors that destroy nature. It is worth talking about each of them separately, and at the same time we will think together how each of us can save the Earth.

Instead of a car and a motorcycle - a bicycle

Any modern transport (car, bus, motorcycle) creates an unfavorable environment, not only polluting the air, but also creating noise. Many people are tired of such sounds up to the deterioration of their health. Once in Europe, an idea was proposed: on one holiday, to ban travel around the city by a private car if you have a bicycle. This idea was picked up by many citizens.

If all physically healthy and able-bodied people agreed to work / study in good and warm weather to ride a bicycle, then one could enjoy the silence. Of course, it is impossible to clean the air of exhaust gases in a few days, but it is possible to prevent further destruction of the environment, up to global warming.

In addition, a bicycle is not just a transport, it will help improve well-being and improve health.

We throw garbage only in the container

In any settlement there must be garbage containers, tanks and trash cans. Each person undertakes to throw away even a small mote in a specially designated place.

Unfortunately, there are two problems:

  1. The amount of expected garbage is much more than containers and bins.
  2. There are people who are not accustomed to keeping a used item with them until they can throw it in the trash can.

In addition, the amount of indestructible garbage is becoming more and more in forest plantations, in glades and in forests. It has been stale for years in the same place, rotting.

Remember that our home - the planet Earth, is unique! This is nowhere else! Life is given to us so that we create it, not destroy it. Learn to clean up after yourself everything that you want to leave after picnics, swimming, hiking. Agree, how insulting and bitter it will be if you want to come, relax in nature, where there is a forest, cleanliness, birds sing, but there is rubbish all around! If it is there, do not join, do not add your "mite".

Burning environmentally friendly items

Do not leave paper bags, matchboxes and other combustible items that do not pose a danger to people and the environment. It is better to burn them where the risk of ignition of nearby places is minimal, for example, on bare ground among stones and near a reservoir.

Of course, smoke is not very good, but as they say, there is no smoke without fire. People have used fire at all times. And if it is used wisely, observing safety precautions, then you can help nature, and not harm it.

The preservation of life on Earth depends entirely on us - people. The more benefits we bring to nature, the more chances to save it. But, unfortunately, the lost cannot be returned.

Disposal of household items

It is difficult to imagine now a house that does not have any household appliances at all. At least a stove and a refrigerator can be found in every residential sector. But over time, technology deteriorates. If it cannot be adapted to other needs, the question of disposal arises. As a rule, in our country, people take large items to a landfill.

In many highly developed countries there are special points for the disposal of any equipment. But, unfortunately, it is not possible to completely and safely destroy an unnecessary device or unit. Therefore, there are only three options:

  1. Recycling to make a new item/material.
  2. Parsing for your own needs.
  3. Landfill disposal.

If the first two points will help to significantly save the planet's resources, then the last one only hurts.

A very important factor should be noted: environmental disasters occur due to the release of radioelements, electromagnetic devices, batteries and other items containing toxic chemicals into the environment.

About the dangers of smoking

Many have already heard that it is very harmful to smoke, as tobacco destroys health. But it's not just that. If earlier cigarettes, pipes were made on the basis of environmentally friendly raw materials, now various chemicals are added to tobacco products in order to save on real tobacco.

In metropolitan areas, there are more and more smokers who use the same low-quality product that has practically nothing to do with tobacco. Not only is the air poisoned by exhausts, tobacco smoke is also added here. Thus, not only smokers suffer, but also non-tobacco people, animals, birds and plants.

A person on Earth exists in order to take what is available: herbs, trees, shrubs, mushrooms, to build houses from stone. But he went further, he wanted to become a powerful master in order to be richer in terms of creating a technosphere. But the richer a modern person is, the poorer our planet is.

Washing and washing with natural products

Well-known laundry soap, soda, sand and sea salt have replaced dishwashing liquids, perfumed laundry detergents and cleaning solvents, as well as various paints and varnishes. All these substances are always poured into a drain pipe or directly onto the ground.

To reduce the use of harmful household chemicals, it is better to use natural remedies.

Oil products

In the automotive industry, railway and factories of any transport equipment use flammable liquids from oil. Any of these materials easily penetrates the soil, spreading deep into. As a result, groundwater is polluted. In addition, enterprises not only consume the aboveground part of the water, but also create emissions into it and into the air.

The safety of the planet directly depends on how often people pour oil products and various chemicals into the soil. If the process is not stopped, then in 20-40 years the earth will become uninhabitable.

Processing and fertilizing plants in the garden

Along with oil products, pesticides, artificial fertilizers, which are used by gardeners, summer residents, as well as agricultural workers and farmers, cause significant harm.

The penetration of toxic substances into the soil can be compared to an environmental disaster. The fact is that poisons continue to remain in the upper layers of the soil for a very long time, harming the health of those who eat food, herbs grown in such areas.

Therefore, it is better to do either without fertilizers at all, or to use natural raw materials, for example, ash, manure.

Energy saving

Power plants operate at full capacity, creating an unfavorable environment for the environment. This is especially true for overloads on the line, for example, in winter, when it gets dark early.

To reduce emissions of electromagnetic and thermal radiation, to reduce the risk of accidents at nuclear power plants, it is necessary to save energy. Currently, energy-saving lamps are in great demand.

Safety from electromagnetic radiation should also be observed at home, in the workplace. Do not leave appliances, lights on, if nothing is in this moment not used.

The Earth and the Sun are the main sources of energy that have been used since the dawn of life. Sunlight should also be used by contemporaries while working, reading. Therefore, you need to strive to create rooms with the largest number of windows.

Reducing radiation from household appliances

Microwaves, cell phones, laptops, computers are the most important sources of electromagnetic radiation that negatively affect health, mood and energy in general.

To protect yourself and loved ones from excessive radiation, it is better to use:

  1. Gas stove instead of multicooker, microwave oven.
  2. One laptop instead of many different office equipment.
  3. Read real books instead of e-readers.
  4. Wash clothes by hand instead of a washing machine.
  5. Use a cloth and water when cleaning instead of a vacuum cleaner.

Of course, with the current pace of life, it is impossible to apply absolutely all the recommendations, but this will help to avoid the progression of a man-made disaster that occurs quietly, imperceptibly.

Silence

It is very important for living beings to be in an environment where there is no man-made noise. Modern appliances and instruments create a lot of unpleasant sounds that irritate others, frighten animals and birds.

You should switch to silent devices. For example, instead of a lawn mower, purchase an ordinary scythe, replace a chainsaw with a hand saw.

A person on Earth feels comfortable and safe only when he is surrounded by a calm and quiet environment: the singing of birds, the rustling of leaves, the wind, the splash or sound of water, and so on.

Medicines and cosmetics

The pharmaceutical industry produces various synthesized drugs in non-flammable packages, which also fill landfills. The same goes for cosmetics.

Nature walks and rules of conduct

The ability to appreciate nature, to love the Earth and the Sun, to enjoy what is, always gives a feeling of joy, happiness.

It is very important when walking in nature to take care of the world around you. Do not break and burn what is still alive. You can not kill for your own benefit birds and animals, which are becoming less and less. Under no circumstances should fires be lit where there is a risk of fire.

About love for our planet

You can sometimes see slogans: "Love our home - planet Earth!". But not everyone understands what needs to be done. In addition, you need to have willpower to leave those familiar things that greatly spoil the environment and health.

It is impossible to cope with a man-made disaster alone, but if measures are taken together, then perhaps the future generation will be able to live in more favorable conditions.

Large scale planetary conservation

Even schoolchildren are aware of the dangers of industrial facilities, but it is almost impossible to completely ban them and eliminate them, at least for moral reasons. After all modern man it is very difficult to move from technology to manual labor.

If all the plants and factories that emit tons of waste into the environment every day were closed in the world, if modern vehicles were banned, then the state of the planet would probably improve, the ozone layer would be preserved.

How old is the planet Earth, and it continues to exist even in the most severe conditions. Over the course of many millions of years, geophysical processes take place, sometimes meteorites fall.

Both natural phenomena and man-made accidents harm all living things. Therefore, we are faced with the task of how to protect ourselves:

  • space security of the planet (protection against meteorites);
  • environmental safety (reduction of environmental pollution);
  • spiritual and moral values (cessation of wars, internecine strife, terrorism).

Remember that everything is only in our hands. Together we can do a lot to stop the destruction of the planet.

I turn to you for the help our planet needs. I understand that everyone has problems. But now there is a problem with the one who cannot ask for herself. She can hint... she can explain with some signs... and she cannot say... but many people hear her. I am talking about our beautiful planet Earth, our home, our cradle. The earth, thanks to which we are, we live on its lands, eat what it gives, it raised us, and helped us become who we are, despite the fact that it destroys it, it is like loving mother who is ready to give everything for her child. We turned our backs on her, and she suffers. We are all her children, and we think only about ourselves, we solve our problems ... but we are still children who want to appear adults, and forget that the mother, having given the last, may die. Without it, we cannot survive either, and not because there is no planet in the universe where we can live. Because the universe will never accept those who killed their mother. Mankind, having killed the planet, will destroy itself. We have a lot of problems now: wars, diseases, hunger, children's illnesses, drug addiction, and many more. But by solving only these problems, we become like a sinking ship, the water from which is scooped out with teaspoons. In order for the ship to sail further, it is necessary to close up the hole.

There are forces that help us, forces that can stop our almost inevitable death. God, the universe, the energy of matter, other living beings. If humanity shows that it is ready to sacrifice selfish desires, and if it is necessary to sacrifice oneself for the sake of saving the Earth… then the death of the planet, nature, our smaller brothers can be prevented. If you suddenly do not believe in miracles, then I, I affirm, say this as a fact: the whole universe rests on miracles, and there is no need to try to understand them all, to explain them with laws. Nothing is impossible. But ... a miracle will not happen if all of humanity does not join their efforts in order to save our home with you. I appeal to your mind and heart, help the one who gave life to all of us, because our stupidity will destroy her, please do not turn away from her ...

I know that it is often difficult to start, thoughts arise: how can this be done, because we cannot help ourselves, but how can we help the whole planet? I swear with all my heart, with all my soul, if we start helping the planet, then our problems will be solved, and there will be less of them. And so I propose to start with a few very specific and real actions:

News healthy lifestyle life, do not leave garbage in nature, try to use environmentally friendly vehicles (bicycles, trolleybuses, electric trains), reduce meat consumption to a minimum, or refuse altogether, use paper less, require factories and authorities to comply with environmental standards and waste recycling: paper, plastic, etc. Paper can be replaced by electronic media and do not buy printed materials, meat is perfectly replaced by plant foods, besides, plant foods are healthier and less harmful to the environment than animal husbandry.

Watch your diet in general, do not eat everything, everything is eaten only by "pigs". Go to the store with reusable bags, and if you do take a bag, try to use it many times. Wear clothes and shoes longer, you can always sew up a small hole, or ignore it at all! Do not use shampoos, gels, and liquid soaps - all of these are good substitutes for ordinary soap, such as Tik-Tok.

Dear girls!!! think about the fact that cosmetics are harmful not only for the environment, but first of all for yourself, your health, and for the health of your future children!

These are a few small steps that need to be started now, and then there will be a long and difficult path that needs to be taken until the Earth is completely healed. And it does not matter that it is difficult, but it is important that it is noble and happy.

And I ask you to help each other in this. Because it is not only for me, but also for you.

And unfortunately, money is also needed here. For example, planting one hectare of forest will cost 100,000 rubles. We also need material support for scientific projects, for saving endangered species of animals, for the maintenance of nature reserves, and much more.

It is possible that someone will say, but what does he have to do with it, the state should do the same. So, this is the business of every inhabitant of the earth. Since the vast majority of us drive polluting vehicles, use plastic bags, pollute the water with waste (only crazy idiots and fools could think of dumping waste back into the water, into rivers, lakes, seas, oceans). And therefore, every inhabitant of the earth is simply obliged to think about how he can help the planet.

1) First of all, change your consumer attitude to nature, this is the main thing.

2) And secondly, do something, right now, or today, or this week. Plant a tree, ride a bike or public transport instead of a car, send money to any fund, any amount, even 10 rubles, do something that you think is good for the planet. You don't even have to do anything for anyone, do something for yourself… get up early in the morning and go for a run… or just find a beautiful place with a piece of nature, stop and admire it, tell it mentally thank you for being you, bye there is another way to say...

If you want to help the site in my endeavors, I will be grateful for your support

But in fact, it’s not money that is important ... But what you do today is good and useful. That's the only thing that really matters.

Already there are 16 ways to save the earth from ecological disaster.
Let's save this beauty together!

While scientists are struggling to solve the problem of global warming, which occurs due to the high content of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, every inhabitant of the Earth can improve ecological situation. The British edition of The Daily Telegraph brought out "15 Ways to Save the World". These are elementary actions in everyday life, but if people get used to doing them together, the environment will benefit greatly from this. (Full text on the site InoPressa.ru.)

1. Stop drinking bottled water. However, the author of the article stipulates that he lives in the UK, where high-quality water flows from taps almost free of charge - this advice may not be suitable for other countries. The British use 2.7 million tons of plastic every year to bottle their water. Only about 10% of the bottles are recycled, mostly sent to landfills where they take about 450 years to decompose.
In addition, a liter of water weighs a kilogram. One can only imagine how much fuel is used to bring water from sources in the Alps or the mountains of Scotland.
If you don't like the taste, you can use a filter to reduce the chlorine content in the water. In addition, some experts claim that tap water (high in mineral salts and low risk of contamination) is even better than bottled water.

2. Do not use shopping bags. Around 8 billion plastic bags are used in the UK every year. That's over 130 plastic bags per person per year. They annoy many and only fill the cabinets under the sink. You can reuse the bags, or better yet, get one that's cheap and durable to reuse.

3. Monitor water usage. The average bath uses 80 liters of water - twice as much as the average shower. If a person usually brushes their teeth for three minutes, you can turn off the tap for that time and save almost 19 liters of water. By the way, this is more than some Kenyans use in a day. In Britain, you can also install a so-called "behemoth" - a simple plastic device that is located in the toilet tank and reduces the amount of flushed water. By the way, toilet flushing accounts for about a third of domestic water consumption.
4. Install condensing boiler for hot water and heating Houses. As a result, electricity bills will decrease by at least a quarter. If all British people with gas heating systems installed boilers, carbon dioxide emissions would decrease by 17.5 million tons. The accounts will save 1.3 billion pounds a year, that is, almost three billion dollars. This energy will be enough to supply 4 million homes for a whole year. However, a new boiler is a very solid waste - several thousand dollars.

5. Use energy saving light bulbs. These are not necessarily loop-shaped bulbs that give off a disgusting yellow light, The Daily Telegraph clarifies. They now come in a variety of shapes and sizes and typically last at least 10 times longer than conventional light bulbs while using five times less energy. In some countries, this problem is solved at the state level.

6. Do not pour excess water into the kettle. If only 15 families poured as much water as they needed, carbon dioxide emissions would decrease by a ton a year.

7. Turn the thermostat and lower the temperature in the house by one degree. This will reduce heating bills by one tenth and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 240 kilograms per year. However, the advice is also suitable only for those countries where the housing and communal services system allows it.

8. Buy organic products. The production of organic food causes less harm to the environment than usual Agriculture. Half of the vegetables and 95% of the fruits eaten in Britain come from abroad, and every meal travels 1500 miles before reaching the plate.

9. Turn off the computer. Remove the screensaver or replace it with a simple "black screen" and instruct the machine to go into power saving mode after 10 minutes of inactivity. A computer left on overnight consumes enough power to print 800 A4 pages on a laser printer. In total, this amounts to 2.6 thousand kW / h of electricity per year and 1.9 tons of carbon dioxide without any benefit.

10. save paper. Every UK office worker uses an average of 50 sheets of paper a day. Using both sides of the sheet will reduce emissions by 2.5 kg for each kg of paper used.

11. Don't buy "sweaty" fabrics such as nylon and polyester. They are made from petrochemicals, using huge amounts of energy, water and synthetic oils in the process. Nitrous oxide, which is released during the production of nylon, as a greenhouse gas is 310 times stronger than carbon dioxide. At the slightest opportunity, natural fabrics should be chosen.

12. Use a clothesline. Tumble dryers use more energy than any other household appliance and should only be used as a last resort. If you reduce the use of the dryer by one load per week, you can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 91 kg per year.

13. Wash at a lower temperature. In Japan, Europe and even the US, linen is usually washed below 30 degrees. Washing at a lower temperature, especially with the average British family doing 247 loads a year, is an easy way to save money. a large number of energy. If everyone did this, there would be enough free energy in England to electrify half a million houses.

14. Go to "green energy tariff". Supplying a home with electricity generated from renewable sources will reduce household carbon dioxide emissions by a third, and in the UK it is done with one phone call.

15. Reuse things. It may seem obvious, but it's not just paper and plastic bottles that can be recycled - about 80% of our waste can still be useful. The Wastepoint website tells you what to do with trash that can't be put in the trash can and bags provided by the municipality

16. Paint the house white. In order to prevent global warming, it is necessary to repaint the whole world in white, says Nobel laureate, physicist Steven Chu.

Chu bases his theory on the fact that light-colored roofs and pavements reflect 80% sunlight, and dark - only 20%, writes The Times.

According to his calculations, after the implementation of his idea, greenhouse gas emissions will decrease enormously: it's like the world would give up car traffic for 11 years, the newspaper notes.

"AECs should require all flat roofs to be painted white, and sloping roofs to be painted cool colors that absorb less heat. Roads should be lightened to match the natural color of concrete so that they don't dazzle drivers in bright sunlight." cited by the British edition of Stephen Chu.

According to the scientist, white paint will also reduce energy costs for air conditioning, as buildings will heat up less.

Roads should be made lighter - to the natural color of concrete

It should be noted that the requirement to paint the flat roofs of commercial buildings white has already been in place in California since 2005. It was insisted on by physicist Art Rosenfeld from the laboratory, of which Chu is the director. According to Rosenfeld and his colleagues, the change of colors in 100 largest cities planet will help to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions projected over the next 10 years by 44 billion tons.

Recall that earlier the British government has already recommended that the inhabitants of the country repaint their houses in white, thereby supporting the fight against global warming.

HOW TO SAVE THE PLANET

My planet is a human home

But how can she live under a smoky hood,

Where is the gutter - the ocean?!

Where all nature is trapped

Where there is no place for a stork or a lion,

Where the herbs groan: I can no longer ...

Do you care about the health of our planet and what are you willing to do to save it? With the daily bad news of global warming, drying oceans, melting ice and endangered animals, it's hard to know where to start. You may think that there is not much one person can do, but there are actually so many ways to help. Here are some of them.

  1. Respect for water.

Waste of water is one of the most significant actions by which people affect the health of the planet, the supply of clean fresh water are depleted. You can start taking steps right now to use less water. So, you can take a shower instead of a bath, turn off the water while you brush your teeth or soap up. By the way, this way you will not only help our planet, but also save money on utilities.

The chemicals we use to bathe, clean the house, wash the car, and anywhere else are washed away and soaked into the ground or grass, eventually ending up in the plumbing system. For humans, chemicals are even more dangerous, so do everything in your power to reduce their use.

  1. Air protection.

The most popular sources of electricity are coal and gas. The combustion of these elements is the main factor in air pollution. Reducing your dependence on electricity is a great way to help save the environment.

One of the minor sources of air pollution and global warming is emissions from cars, trucks, airplanes and other vehicles. Everything matters here: production vehicle, the fuel it needs, the chemicals it burns, and the construction of highways. The less you drive and fly, the more you help save the environment.

  1. Protecting the earth from pollution.

Everything that you throw in a garbage bag, tie up and take for collection, sooner or later will end up in a landfill. Plus, all this garbage, including plastic, paper, metal and everything else, was produced in an environmentally harmful way. You can reduce pollution by throwing away fewer items.Sort the trash. Divide garbage into “components” and throw away separately. If you wish, you can, for example, hand over glass bottles and jars to a glass container collection point, paper, old magazines, newspapers - into waste paper. It is very important that hazardous household waste does not end up in garbage cans. For example, light bulbs, batteries, mercury thermometers, and so on - something that can harm the environment. WITH hit the trees. Trees prevent the destruction of the soil, trees are an integral part of the ecosystem. By saving trees, you protect not only the soil, but also water and air. If you have some free space in your yard, plant some trees.Beautify your city. Subbotniks, public tree planting events, volunteer programs for garbage collection in parks - you can participate in these events without harm to the budget and for the benefit of your own health. Try to go there with your loved ones - this way you will not only help improve the ecological situation, but also have a good time with your family, because joint work, as you know, brings you closer.

“In order to save endangered animals and protect their habitat, it is enough for every inhabitant of our planet to take at least one small step - these actions, multiplied by seven billion, will turn into a protective barrier against which the sixth wave of extinction will break,” Louis Saihoyos is sure , film director.

Here are just a few examples of simple yet effective steps towards one big goal- saving endangered animals and protecting their habitats:

No. 1. Don't eat meat one day a week

Already, 30% of all pastures of the Earth are allocated for animal husbandry, and their number is growing every year. If this process is not stopped, 60% of all ecosystems on the planet will fall into decay due to too much resource consumption.

No. 2. Turn off the tap water

If we brush our teeth for only one and a half minutes, then during this time 10 liters of water are poured into nowhere, although one glass is enough for us.

No. 3. Give up paper napkins

Some countries use around 1,500 tons of paper napkins a year - replacing them with textiles could save more than 25,000 trees and save 100,000 cubic meters of water.

No. 4. Buy e-tickets

Additional paper is additional trees cut down and forests destroyed, as well as energy costs and environmental emissions during its production.

No. 5. Walking during the weekend

On average, one passenger car emits up to 9 kg of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every day, not to mention other pollutants.

No. 6. Do not throw away mobile devices

On average, a mobile phone is used for about 1.5 years - thus, about 150 million phones containing toxic substances polluting the soil end up in landfills every year.

No. 7. Don't leave charger plugged in

When charging is plugged in, it consumes power anyway, even if the device is not connected to it. This energy is wasted.

No. 8. Use energy saving lamps

Replacing the light bulbs in every home with energy-saving ones would be equivalent to removing a million cars from the roads - the production of conventional lamps pollutes the atmosphere no less than the exhaust gases of cars.
