The whole truth about alcohol in everyday life. The whole truth about alcohol: debunking myths. Stress and unhealthy sleep

From birth, we are all accustomed to the fact that the counters of all grocery stores are littered with this “product”. Moreover, any speculator can sell it with impunity at any hour of the day or night.
Back in 1910, the All-Russian Congress on the fight against drunkenness and alcoholism, at which 150 doctors and medical scientists were among the delegates, made a special decision on this issue:

“A food product can only be a substance that is absolutely harmless to the body. Alcohol, like a narcotic poison, in any dose causes great harm to a person; poisoning and destroying the body, it shortens a person's life by an average of 20 years.
In 1915, the XI Pirogov Congress of Russian Doctors adopted a resolution: "Alcohol cannot be classified as a nutrient, which must be made known to the population."

"Alcohol is a drug that undermines the health of the population" - this is the decision of the World Health Organization in 1975. This position is in full accordance with the scientific definition of alcohol, which is given in the works of prominent world scientists.
State Standard of the USSR No. 1053 (GOST 5964-82) decided: "Alcohol - ethyl alcohol, refers to potent drugs."
Great Soviet Encyclopedia (volume 2, page 116): "Alcohol is a hard drug."

In fact, there is not a single scientific work in which it would be proved that alcohol is not a drug. Meanwhile, there are still so-called "scientists" who stubbornly prove to everyone that alcohol is a food product. Instead of raising the question of the exclusion of alcohol from the “food products” column (as well as the return of beer to the ranks of alcoholic products!), Because this provision disorientates people, accustoming them to take narcotic poison lightly, these “scientists” stubbornly and without evidence insist on its erroneous and harmful attitude.

As we can see, the lie begins with the definition of what alcohol is. But science tells us the truth: alcohol is a narcotic poison that destroys human health. Similar contradictions between truth and falsehood are full of all other issues related to alcohol.

Myth #2 Small doses are harmless

A few years ago, the World Congress dedicated to small doses of alcohol was held, where 2000 narcologists from 200 countries of the world were present. All reports were about the dangers of small doses (see Interview with Doctor of Medical Sciences G. I. Grigoriev at the XVII International Seminar-Conference on Sobriology, 2008).

For alcohol there are no harmless doses, as well as for any other drug - morphine, heroin - prescribed by doctors only in exceptional cases and for a short period, i.e. for 1-2 days. Otherwise, as with alcohol, drug addiction will arise, a person will become a drug addict and will not be able to live without drugs, dooming himself to death.
Talk about "moderate" doses and "cultural" wine drinking is a trap for simpletons. All drinkers and all alcoholics started with “moderate” doses and “culturally” drank, and ended up in psychiatric hospitals or in a cemetery 20 years ahead of schedule. In addition, after taking even small doses of alcohol, an imaginary feeling of contentment arises, the so-called euphoria, which very often has adverse consequences both for the drunk person and for those around him.

In the experiments of academician I.P. Pavlov, it was established that after taking small doses of alcohol, reflexes disappear and are restored only on days 8-12. In addition, scientists have found that with the most “moderate” alcohol consumption, after 4 years, drinkers have a wrinkled brain in 85% of cases.

When the brain performs more complex and more difficult tasks, the influence of “small” doses of alcoholic “drinks” is stronger than when performing light ones. At the same time, they not only reduce working capacity, but also reduce the desire to work, that is, the impulse to work disappears, and drinkers become incapable of systematic work.

The creators of the theory of "small doses" are research institutions that work mainly on the money of alcohol producers. This theory considers alcohol to be a legal psychotropic substance that has a positive effect on the body when consumed in small doses (up to 30 g of pure alcohol per day), but with side effects for both the individual and society as a whole.

Numerous studies have been conducted on both the benefits and harms (side effects) of alcohol.
What's the use? There are studies indicating a decrease in the incidence of coronary heart disease (not to be confused with its treatment!) Due to a slight increase due to the use of small doses of alcohol in the blood concentration of “good” high-density cholesterol and inhibition of the growth of vascular plaques.

At the same time, other scientists believe that under the influence of alcohol as a protoplasmic poison, an increase in vascular permeability and an increase in atherosclerotic changes in the vessels are observed.

But regardless of the dubious effect of small doses on the heart, the following effects are proven:

1. Negative effect on the liver.
2. Toxic effect on all organs and systems, especially on brain and sex cells. If germ cells are damaged, especially in women, the likelihood of the appearance of unhealthy, mentally retarded offspring is significantly increased.
3. The emergence of alcohol dependence with all its negative consequences is possible.
4. Increasing the likelihood of diabetes and cancer of many locations.
5. Increasing the likelihood of arterial hypertension.
Drinking alcohol, even in a small dose, deprives a person of the ability to correctly orient himself, he develops excessive self-confidence, not provided with skill and experience, and he gets into trouble much more often than a sober person. How can even small doses of alcohol be considered harmless, if in all cases without exception they are potentially harmful and dangerous and, even if they did not lead to a fatal catastrophe, they brought suffering to many?

Myth #3USE "CULTURAL" - NO PROBLEMS

Attempts to attribute the harmful effects of alcohol only to those who are recognized as alcoholics are fundamentally wrong. The changes that occur in the brain under the influence of alcohol occur with the use of alcohol in any dose. The degree of these changes depends on the number of alcoholic "drinks" and on the frequency of their intake, regardless of whether this person belongs to the so-called "drinkers" or to alcoholics.

In addition, the terms themselves: “alcoholic”, “drunkard”, “heavy drinker”, “moderate drinker”, “little drinker”, etc., have a quantitative, not a fundamental difference. And the differences in damage to their brains are not qualitative, but quantitative.

Some try to attribute to alcoholics only those who drink heavily, get drunk to delirium tremens, etc. This is not true. Binge drinking, delirium tremens, alcoholic hallucinosis, hallucinatory dementia of drunkards, alcoholic delirium of jealousy, Korsakov's psychosis, alcoholic pseudo-paralysis, epilepsy and much more - all these are just consequences of the problem. The problem itself is the use of alcoholic “drinks”, which has a harmful effect on health, work and the welfare of society.

The World Health Organization defines alcoholism as a person's dependence on alcohol. This means that the person is in captivity of the drug. Looks for every opportunity, every excuse to drink, and if there is no reason, he drinks without any reason. And at the same time, he assures that he "knows the measure."

The term "abuse" should also be recognized as incompetent. If there is abuse, then it is understood that there is also use not for evil, but for good, that is, useful. But there is no such use! Moreover, there is no harmless use. Any dose of alcohol harms the body. The difference is only in the degree of harm. The term "abuse" is incorrect in principle, and at the same time very insidious, because it makes it possible to cover up drunkenness with an excuse - they say, I do not abuse. In fact, any use of alcoholic "drinks" is always abuse.

Culture, mind, morality - all these are the qualities of the brain. And in order to explain the whole absurdity of the phrase “drinking culturally”, it is useful, at least briefly, to get acquainted with how alcohol affects the brain.
Since the end of the 1950s and the beginning of the 1960s, propaganda of "moderate" doses has been launched in our country; in speeches and articles, it was clear that alcohol consumption is almost a state setting and it cannot be changed. The problem, they say, lies in the fight against excesses, with abuse, that is, with alcoholism.

Even N. A. Semashko wrote: “Drunkenness and culture are two concepts that mutually exclude each other, like ice and fire, light and darkness.”

Let's try to consider this issue from a scientific point of view. First of all, none of the zealots of "cultural drinking" said what it is. What is meant by this term? How to link these two mutually exclusive concepts: alcohol and culture?

Maybe by the term "cultural drinking" these people understand the environment in which the absorption of wine takes place? A beautifully set table, a wonderful appetizer, exquisitely dressed people, and they drink the highest grades of cognac, liqueur, Burgundy wine or kinzmarauli? Is this "drinking culture"?

As scientific data published by WHO show, such wine drinking not only does not prevent, but, on the contrary, favors the development of drunkenness and alcoholism throughout the world. According to her, recently the so-called "management alcoholism", that is, the alcoholism of business people, responsible workers, has come out on top in the world. And if the concept of “drinking culture” is invested in the situation, then, as we see, this does not stand up to criticism and leads us to an even greater development of drunkenness and alcoholism.

Maybe the zealots of "cultural drinking" mean that after taking a certain dose of wine, people become more cultured, smarter, more interesting, and their speech - more meaningful, filled with deep meaning?

The school of I. Pavlov proved that after the first, smallest dose of alcohol in the cerebral cortex, those departments where the elements of education, that is, culture, are laid down, are paralyzed. So, what kind of “culture of drinking” can we talk about if after the first glass, exactly what is acquired by education disappears in the brain, that is, the very culture of human behavior disappears? Higher functions of the brain are disrupted, that is, associations that are replaced by lower forms. The latter arise in the mind quite out of place and stubbornly hold on. Such associations resemble a purely pathological phenomenon. The change in the quality of the associations explains the vulgarity of the thoughts of the tipsy, the tendency to stereotyped and trivial expressions, to an empty play on words.

These are the scientific data on the state of the neuropsychic sphere of a person who has taken a “moderate” dose of alcohol. What is the "culture" here? It is clear from the presented analysis: there is nothing that would at least to some extent resemble culture, neither in the thinking nor in the actions of a person who has taken any, including a “small” dose of alcohol.

Given that alcohol is a drug and a protoplasmic poison, its consumption will inevitably lead to alcoholism, it is clear to every educated person that it is pointless to fight alcoholism without fighting alcohol consumption.

Fighting drunkenness without banning the consumption of alcohol is like fighting murder during a war. To say that we are not against, we are for wine, but we are against drunkenness and alcoholism is the same hypocrisy as if politicians say that we are not against war, we are against killing in war. Meanwhile, it is quite clear that if there is a war, there will be both wounded and killed, that if there is a consumption of alcoholic "drinks", then there will be drunkards and alcoholics. Only those who have completely poisoned their brains with alcohol, or those who are satisfied with the current state of affairs, who would like to "stabilize the achieved level of consumption," can not understand this.

The theory of "cultural drinking" continues to cause irreparable harm to our society every day. If in 1925, when absolute sobriety was still being promoted, there were 43% of teetotalers among various categories of male workers, at present they make up less than 1%! Habitual drunkards and alcoholics in 1925 were 9.6%, in 1973 they were already 30% (discussion "The Economics of Alcoholism", Novosibirsk, 1973). By now, given the rise in alcohol consumption, the number has of course also increased accordingly.

Even more tragic is the situation with female alcoholics. If in prewar years their number relative to the number of male alcoholics was hundredths of a percent, now female alcoholism is 9-11%, that is, it has proportionally increased hundreds of times. According to WHO, among young women, female alcoholism is now almost compared with male alcoholism. Young people also turned out to be unstable in relation to alcohol. In 1925, there were 16.6% of drinkers under 18 years old, and already in 1975, according to numerous studies, up to 95% (“Young Communist”, 1975, No. 9).

IN modern conditions, more than ever, it should be remembered that only those people who do not fall into the trap of "cultural" alcohol consumption remain healthy for life and achieve amazing longevity.

Myth #4DRINK ON THE HOLIDAY - A CENTURY-OLD TRADITION

Many people like to repeat that our people have always been drinking, drinking and will continue to drink. And very rarely someone comes up with the idea to check this “truth”.

In fact, the age of this “tradition” is no more than one or two centuries. Turning to the history of the Slavic peoples, until the 16th century we will not find traces of mass consumption of alcoholic products at all.

“The history of the manufacture of alcoholic “drinks” goes back thousands of years,” various printed publications and even history books vying with each other. Yes, no one argues with this. However, it would be interesting to know how many people were engaged in the manufacture, and most importantly, the use of alcohol in those distant times. It turns out that there were no more of them than now, for example, masters of harvesting deer antlers, or, say, students who are fluent in tensor calculus!

The destructive property of subjugating the will of a person in the most imperceptible way fell only on the heads of those unfortunate people who were directly involved in obtaining the devil's potion. For the most part, the people were sober, which is confirmed by all historical studies (suffice it to recall that some 200-300 years ago alcohol was available only for a lot of money, so only the “chosen ones” were poisoned with ethyl alcohol solutions).

When you start to convince that alcohol consumption brings nothing but harm, then many, even agreeing with the main provisions, still put forward the following argument: how can you not drink, for example, at a wedding?

As for the wedding, in fact, in Rus' there was the opposite, glorious tradition, which forbade the bride and groom to drink wine. This custom showed the wisdom of the people, who guarded themselves from degeneration. And for the sake of our future generations, this tradition should still be strictly observed!

It is at the wedding that alcohol consumption is especially harmful and even criminal. On the day when a family is formed and the life of its future member is born, poisoning yourself with alcoholic “drinks” is simply blasphemy and a serious crime! If the young people cannot resist and drink “to health” together with everyone, then just no health is obtained. If the conception of a new person occurs after this (within 90 days for men, a woman has poison in her eggs forever!), When the young have drunk “to health”, they have every chance to destroy the health of their unborn child, poison him and their own lives.

Myth #5: ALCOHOL WARMS YOUR COLD

You can often hear that vodka warms; a good portion of wine - and the flu is gone.

Even though alcohol is indeed a source of energy, the process of interaction of this energy with our body is much more complicated than just getting calories. If this were the case, people who drink alcohol would be much fatter than non-drinkers. Alcoholic calories do not nourish and warm the body (unlike the same amount of calories obtained, for example, from carbohydrates), but are burned uselessly, and often destroying the body.

Under the influence of alcohol, paralysis of the skin vessels soon sets in, they expand, and more blood flows to the surface of the body. It seems to a person that he has warmed up, but in fact this is a deception: only the skin heats up, which very quickly gives off the received heat to the outside. In this case, the body temperature decreases, which is easy to verify both theoretically (using the law of conservation of energy) and practically (having carried out its systematic measurements).

As for the treatment of diseases, the French Academy of Sciences specifically checked this and proved that alcohol has no effect on influenza viruses, like other viruses, and cannot serve as a remedy. On the contrary, by weakening the body, alcohol contributes to frequent illnesses and the severe course of any infectious diseases.

In particular, the body under the influence of alcohol loses its normal sensitivity to cold and the skin ceases to respond to a decrease in body temperature by constricting blood vessels. I. A. Sikorsky wrote about this at the end of the 19th century. He established, for example, that during the typhus epidemic in Kyiv, workers who drink fell ill 4 times more often than teetotalers.

Every illiterate peasant from time immemorial knew that in the cold, alcohol consumption leads to a very rapid cooling and freezing of a person. And modern scientific data say that if the average annual temperature in the region is 5 degrees lower, the death rate from alcohol is 10 times higher.

Myth #6: ALCOHOL IS FUN, RELIEVES STRESS

It is believed that people drink supposedly for fun. Drinking small doses of alcohol can indeed reduce restraint, loosen the tongue and create some conditions for fun in people with inhibited reactions. This is due to the fact that alcohol, being quickly absorbed from the digestive canal into the blood, acts primarily on the cells of higher centers. nervous system(in the cerebral cortex), causing their paralysis. Therefore, in a state of intoxication, control over one's behavior is lost, and hence - excessive talkativeness, frivolous actions, self-praise and a sense of complacency.

However, natural fun, the laughter of a sober person brings him incomparably more joy and benefit than the fun and laughter of a person who drinks alcohol. The fun of the latter is the excitement caused by anesthesia under the influence of the drug, therefore, in terms of its value in terms of affecting the nervous system, it is in many ways inferior to the fun of sober people.

There is a widespread opinion about the exciting, reinforcing and revitalizing effect of alcohol. It is based on the observation that drunk people notice loud speech, talkativeness, gesticulation, acceleration of the pulse, a blush, a feeling of warmth in the skin. An intoxicated person becomes cheeky, inclined to joke, make friends with anyone. Later, he becomes uncritical, tactless, begins to shout loudly, sing, make noise, ignoring those around him. His actions are impulsive, thoughtless. These phenomena are explained by paralysis of known parts of the brain. Paralytic phenomena in the mental sphere also include the loss of subtle attentiveness, sound judgment and thinking.

The psychological picture of a person in this state resembles manic excitement. Alcoholic euphoria arises as a result of disinhibition, weakening of criticism. One of the causes of this euphoria is the excitation of the subcortex - the oldest part of the brain in phylogenetic terms, while the younger and more sensitive parts of the brain are severely impaired or paralyzed.

On the other hand, the intake of alcoholic "drinks" is often motivated by the need to relieve stress. Such a judgment is the result of primitive ignorance. Careful study of this issue has shown that in the entire nervous system, as well as the endocrine system, alcohol leads to the same gross changes that occur during stress. As a result, it does not reduce, but deepens these changes, as it were, doubles the pathological condition caused by stress, and often makes it irreversible.

In addition, the sociopsychological reasons for such behavior should not be excluded from consideration: a person who drinks a small amount of any alcoholic “drink” already in advance subconsciously prepares to behave as usual in a “culturally drinking” company, without waiting for the drug to penetrate into certain centers of the brain and its “cheerful” or “calming” action will begin. Thus, the effect of alcohol also depends on what the person who is poisoned by it, as well as his environment, expects from this “drink”. By the way, due to ingrained alcoholic prejudices and a drinking atmosphere, offenses and atrocities committed while intoxicated are condemned by our legislation and public opinion less than when sober.

The main feature of narcotic drugs, which include alcohol, is that they are able to dull unpleasant sensations and especially the feeling of fatigue, however, creating illusions and self-deception on a short time, alcohol not only does not eliminate either one or the other, but, on the contrary, enhances them, which complicates and burdens a person's life. The next day, from the "drunken fun" there is only the unpleasant sensation of a hangover, headache, etc. And there is no desire to work ...

With repeated alcohol intake, these complications are aggravated, and the person is no longer able to cope with them. He imperceptibly for himself morally descends, unwillingness to do anything intensifies. Among drinkers, absenteeism is sharply increasing and the intensity and quality of work is falling.

Myth #7: ALCOHOL INCREASES APPETITE

Under the influence of alcohol, the glands located in the wall of the stomach begin to actively produce gastric juice, which is perceived as an increase in appetite. However, under the influence of irritation of the gland, at first they secrete a lot of mucus, corroding the walls of the stomach, and eventually atrophy. Thus, the feeling of hunger and appetite is changed and perverted. The natural feeling of hunger is exaggerated, the gastrointestinal tract is overloaded, and normal digestion is disturbed. The consequences of this are unhealthy fullness, disorder of the digestive apparatus.

Not a single sip of wine passes without causing harm to a person. But the stronger it is, the more often it is used, the weaker the protective forces act and the more destruction alcoholic “drinks” bring with them.

Thus, causing a deceptive sensation of increased appetite, in fact, each serving of alcohol only exacerbates changes in the entire glandular apparatus of the alimentary canal. With repeated alcohol intake, protective and compensatory mechanisms fail and changes in tissues and organs become irreversible.

Myth #8: WINE IS LOTS OF VITAMINS

It is widely believed that a glass of natural grape wine "contains the daily requirement of vitamins." Many people repeat this untruth, reading it in wine-making literature and periodical articles that promote wine drinking under the slogan “wine is the antipode of pernicious vodka.”

But if you look, for example, in the reference book "Physical and chemical indicators of wine and wine materials" (A. V. Subbotin et al., Moscow, 1972) with numerous tables and diagrams, you can see what happens to the nutrients and vitamins of grapes according to as it turns first into pulp, then into must and, finally, into wine material: the content of the main useful constituent parts grape berries decreases to extremely small values.

Well, the main thing in grapes - sugar - in the production of dry wine material is completely fermented into harmful ethyl alcohol (it is no coincidence, by the way, that winemakers prefer the most sugary grape varieties).

Myth #9: ALCOHOL IS SPECIALLY PRODUCED BY THE BODY

You can often hear that alcohol is constantly synthesized by the human body and therefore, as if it were, it is necessary to use it additionally, like vitamins.

Indeed, in the body of each adult, about 10 grams of ethyl alcohol is produced per day. Alcohol is one of the hormones psychological protection person, on which his mood depends. In addition to alcohol, more than 500 internal drugs are produced in the human body.

But if a person begins to introduce alcohol from the outside, internal production stops. One glass of champagne reduces internal alcohol production by 20% for 30 days. Alcohol is necessary for a person only on condition that it is produced inside a person. Any external administration of alcohol, like any other hormone, leads to a decrease in vital function.

Thus, the statement about the need to "replenish" the body with some amount of alcohol is a deliberate lie.

Myth #10: ONLY A SURROGATE CAN BE POISONED

The toxicity of poorly purified alcoholic products is indeed more pronounced, but alcohol still has the main poisoning effect, and not impurities, which account for only 6% of toxicity. This means that both acute and chronic poisoning by surrogates occurs mainly due to ethyl alcohol itself.

Myth #11: ALCOHOL IS SUCCESSFULLY USED IN MEDICINE

In some “popular” publications, you can read: “In medical practice, alcoholic products are used in the following cases: in case of malnutrition and oppression of the digestive function, with elementary dystrophy, hypo- and beriberi; during the recovery period, after suffering infectious diseases; with shock, fainting and acute vascular weakness; with injuries accompanied by sharp pain sensations; with prolonged forced stay in the cold; in general serious condition ... "

Back in 1915, the Pirogov Congress of Russian Doctors made a special decision that there is not a single disease in which modern medicines did not act better, faster, more efficiently and safely than alcohol. There is no disease that is not aggravated by its use. Therefore, alcohol should be completely excluded from medical practice!

Due to the fact that many false judgments are still spreading about alcohol as a remedy, we will try to elucidate the issue in more detail: alcohol is only a solvent and preservative in medicines and does not have so-called "healing" properties. In addition, the beneficial effect of drugs made from alcohol is negated by the action of alcoholic poison.

It is difficult to find a greater evil than alcohol, which so stubbornly and ruthlessly deprives the health of millions of people, so dramatically destroys all tissues and organs, eventually leading to early death. The serious consequences of alcohol consumption do not occur immediately. The disease increases gradually, and even when the patient dies, the cause is explained by something else.

Therefore, very few, and perhaps even none of the patients who fell ill due to alcohol, do not understand what is the cause of their serious illness. This is best known to surgeons and pathologists.

Whatever branch of medicine we take, whatever diseases, injuries or injuries we begin to study, we will immediately see that alcohol in a number of cases plays a major role in the development of a particular pathological process.

Myth #12: WINE IS THE BEST REMEDY FOR HEART PAIN

Yes, alcohol dilates blood vessels for a while, and in some diseases leads to temporary relief. But in the future, with the use of alcoholic "drinks", damage to the cardiovascular system is observed in the form of alcoholic hypertension or myocardial damage.

Hypertension in drinkers occurs as a result of dysregulation of vascular tone, due to the toxic effect of ethyl alcohol on various parts of the nervous system.

Hypertension is observed quite often. According to scientists, more than 40% of drinkers have hypertension and, in addition, almost 30% of blood pressure levels are in the "danger zone", that is, approaching hypertension at an average age of 36 years.

The basis of alcoholic damage to the heart muscle is the direct toxic effect of alcohol on the myocardium in combination with changes in the nervous regulation and microcirculation. Gross disorders of interstitial metabolism that develop at the same time lead to the development of focal and diffuse myocardial dystrophy, manifested by arrhythmias and heart failure.

Studies have shown that with alcohol intoxication, there are profound violations of mineral metabolism in the heart muscle, which leads to a decrease in the contractility of the heart. And the main reason for these changes is the toxic effect of ethyl alcohol.

If a drinking person did not get into a car accident or hospital with bleeding or a stomach disease, did not die from a heart attack or hypertension, he often becomes disabled from some kind of domestic injury or because of a fight, since a drinking person is sure, as they say, will find a reason why to become disabled or die prematurely. According to WHO, the average life expectancy of a drinker is 15-17 years less than the average life expectancy, which, as you know, is calculated taking into account drinkers. If you compare with teetotalers, then the difference will be even greater.

Myth #13: VINEYARDS DESTROYED UNDER GORBACHEV

The assertion that after the Decree of 1985, vineyards began to be cut down is also another provocation. The decree said that during the period when overripe vines are replaced by young growth, it is necessary to plant more sweet varieties for fresh consumption of grapes.

The mafia, filming one process - the destruction of the old planting, did not show the second - the planting of a young vine, and shouted to the whole world that there was a deliberate destruction of vineyards. That is, it was another trick of the alcohol mafia.

What kind of myths about alcohol did not come up with drinking people to justify their drunkenness. Fictions have been passed from mouth to mouth for decades, and few of their distributors have bothered to verify the truth of their own statements.

Add fuel to the fire and manufacturers of alcohol. It is from their active submission that a lot of delusions have recently been born that serve only one goal - to enrich the alcohol magnates. For gullible people, these false statements cost health, and sometimes life.

The tales of the merchants of death

Myth 1. Alcohol is a food product.

Getting used to seeing this product on the shelves of grocery stores, everyone willingly believes that the product is food. However, according to the conclusion of international medical organizations, only substances that are absolutely harmless to health can be classified as food products, which cannot be said about alcohol.

Alcohol is categorically recognized by physicians and scientists as a narcotic poison, and a potent one at that.

And it is only thanks to the alcohol lobby that this drug is still legal.
Myth 2. Alcohol is harmless in small doses.

Alcohol, like any drug, is addictive regardless of the dose taken. Small doses are deceptive, because psychologically a person does not take them seriously and falls into the trap of his own delusions, while the poison acts. Scientists have proven that even small doses of alcohol kill reflexes, and it takes at least a week to restore them. Even with a slight intoxication, parts of the brain are affected, an irreparable blow is inflicted on the main vital organs of a person. Yes, the one who “took on the chest” a larger amount of poison suffers to a greater extent, but his less drinking brother after the first sips also underwent a serious attack and undermined his health. And this is more dangerous because it is not as noticeable as with large dosages, which allows a person to mistakenly think that he did not cause any harm to himself.

In addition, alcohol in small doses causes disorientation, leads to excessive and unreasonable self-confidence, deprives critical thinking, which pushes a person to risky actions and often leads to trouble.

Myth 3. There is less harm from an expensive product.

Another invention of liquor dealers. Ethanol is found in both the cheapest and most expensive drink. It is he who poisons the body, undermines health and makes a person inadequate. Therefore, the harm from an expensive drink is just as strong as from a cheap one. Expensive drinks have two advantages. Firstly, they often add taste softening components, so drinking this product is more pleasant and easier. Secondly, not everyone can afford expensive drinks, so they stop after the first one, which can serve as a kind of overdose safeguard. Otherwise, expensive drinks are the same poison.

Of course, in addition to ethanol, the "self-made" contains an additional "bouquet" of poisons. But don't change your mind. From expensive cognac you will get cirrhosis of the liver, heart, mental and other diseases in large quantities. An overdose of expensive wine, cognac and even beer leads to death. And the fact that "self-made" leads to death a little faster does not make expensive cognac more useful.

dangerous delusion

Myth 4. Alcohol is good for health.

In part, this misconception has migrated to modern times from distant dark ages when treated with very intricate means, for example, lead, cemetery dust, frog skin, including alcohol. However, few people would think of eating land for prevention. Why make an exception for alcohol?
There are modern studies showing that drinking small doses of alcohol leads to an increase in the level of good cholesterol in the blood, which inhibits the growth of vascular plaques. That is, theoretically, alcohol could serve as a prevention of atherosclerosis. However, according to other scientists, alcohol enhances atherosclerotic changes in blood vessels, disrupts cholesterol metabolism, damages the walls of blood vessels, increases blood pressure, and ages cells. Thus, it would seem useful property alcohol is immediately reduced to nothing more serious negative consequences. That is, atherosclerosis cannot be prevented with the help of alcohol, but it is easy to earn money.

As additional sores with "preventive" intake of alcoholic beverages, you can get:

  • liver damage;
  • destruction of brain and nervous system cells;
  • damage to the reproductive system (spermatozoa are damaged for 3 months, eggs are all poisoned at once for life);
  • the risk of developing diabetes and cancer of various organs;
  • the likelihood of developing arterial hypertension;
  • addiction to alcohol.

People's sabotage

Myth 5. Vodka cures stomach ulcers.

There is a strange belief among people that half a glass of vodka before meals can heal ulcers, neutralize poisons from food, and improve digestion. There are times when people deliberately ate spoiled food, hoping that vodka would fix everything.

This is complete absurdity. Vodka partially anesthetizes the stomach, but at the same time irritates it even more. Quite often such "treatment" comes to an end with internal bleedings and is capable to lead to death.

Alcohol is not capable of neutralizing poisons. On the contrary, it increases the permeability of cells, opening the way for carcinogens.

Myth 6. Wine saves you from the flu.

This is confirmed not only by inveterate drunkards, but also by well-bred aunts, opponents of alcohol. And they are very mistaken, giving their household at the first sign of the flu, a kind of folk remedy.
Scientists specifically studied all kinds of alcoholic beverages and came to the conclusion that alcohol does not kill any type of virus. It also spares influenza viruses, but not your immune system. A spoonful of alcohol weakens the body and acts as a united front with the disease, giving it the opportunity to roam to the fullest.
Do not forget that most drugs cannot be combined with alcohol. That is, by using a malicious "folk remedy", you can permanently close the path for traditional, effective drug treatment.

Myth 7. Beer improves the quality of milk.

Another absolutely ridiculous statement. Milk diluted with alcohol (a bottle of beer equals a glass of vodka) contains less protein and becomes less nutritious. At the same time, alcohol poisons the baby's body with such force that it often leads to convulsions and death. A child fed alcohol-containing milk develops slowly both physically and mentally. He has all sorts of pathologies. Often such mothers attribute the baby's malaise to the fact that he was born sickly. However, this is a lie. It was alcoholized milk that made the child sick, and the mother bears full responsibility for this, at least morally. Although prosecution and deprivation of maternal rights in such cases is also not excluded.

Stress and unhealthy sleep

Myth 8. Alcohol helps you sleep.

Everything is not so clear here. Small doses of alcohol, taken in the first half of the night, really act as a sleeping pill. However, sleep in hops is not deep. The number of cycles (changes between fast and slow phases of sleep) decreases, the fast phase of sleep is shortened, during which a person rests. As a result, rest periods are not enough to get enough sleep. It turns out that the person, although he slept all night, did not fully rest. In the morning he feels tired and overwhelmed. If you take such a "sleeping pill" regularly, you can completely lose sleep.
Large doses of alcohol drastically disrupt sleep, often it becomes simply impossible to fall asleep in this state.

Myth 9. Alcoholic drinks relieve stress.
In the first minutes after drinking alcohol, a person’s mood rises and, thanks to a decrease in critical assessment, it seems that all problems can be solved. The stress recedes. Wanting to prolong the blissful state, a person drinks another glass, and another. As a result, excitability grows, joyful euphoria is replaced by unbridledness, anger and aggression. Anxiety is growing. The person wants to act, but does not know how. As a result, he finds himself adventures that do not reflect in the best way both on his health and on his fate.

After the alcohol is removed, the person falls into a depressed state. Physical suffering is added to mental torment. Anger, suspicion, unreasonable fear, obsessive jealousy, deep depression - this is a small list of how alcohol relieves stress.

Alcohol and culture are not compatible

Myth 10. “Cultural” drinking is not alcoholism

The concept of "cultural drinking" was invented by drunkards who want to protect themselves from the stigma of "alcoholic". However, drunkenness is not cultural. What is meant by culture in this case? Situation? A decently set table, overdressed audience, expensive drinks? All this is entourage. While drinking alcohol even in the basement, even at a chic table, the process is identical.

An expensive snack, like its complete absence, does not prevent intoxication of the body and its consequences, such as the destruction of the nervous system, loss of strength, lack of the ability to reason logically. Conversations become monotonous, the thread of reasoning is often lost, the conversation at the table ceases to be general. Usually everyone is talking and no one is listening. Behind the clever thoughts expressed by an intoxicated person lie platitudes and clichés. The turns of speech themselves become miserable and repetitive, lexicon decreases sharply, since the work of the memory responsible for the timely delivery of words is disrupted. If you record your own intelligent conversation over a cultural drink on a dictaphone and listen to it on a sober head, the verdict will be one - nonsense. Many will even wonder how they could carry such nonsense.

During a drunken frenzy, associative ties are lost. Everything that was introduced into the consciousness of a person by society (i.e. culture) is lost first. Sublime and interesting associations are being replaced by low, instinctive ones, laid down by nature. Therefore, in a drunken state, a person often speaks vulgarity, banality, stupidity. Can such a pastime be called cultural?

As for alcoholism, not a single screen of rich decoration can save you from it. Alcoholism in the field of office workers, accustomed to cultural corporate parties, is already more common than among working people.

Superpowers that will not be

Myth 11. Alcohol expands consciousness.

Often people who make such statements are not able to explain exactly how their consciousness expands, and in what way it is expressed. Nevertheless, the statement wanders among the people and is gaining popularity. Of course, it is more profitable to present yourself as psychologically advanced, knowing and feeling more than non-drinking inhabitants, rather than a banal alcoholic. This is the only chance to be at least something better than non-drinking friends. But the chance is deceptive, illusory, having nothing to do with reality.

According to narcologists, the lower the level of a person's intelligence, the more primitive their delirium. A person who does not read sees cockroaches, devils, aliens in delirium tremens - an undeveloped fantasy is not capable of more. Rave modern man differs from the delusions of its predecessors by the presence of technical devices with the help of which they are allegedly eavesdropped, allegedly monitored and manipulated.

The delirium of a highly intelligent person is distinguished by figurativeness and colorfulness. The plot is twisty and varied. However, he also operates with those images and ideas that were received in a normal, unaltered state of consciousness. That is, it is not alcohol that expands the boundaries of consciousness, but those received in ordinary life knowledge. All that alcohol can give is intricately mixed in delirium scraps of existing knowledge. Exactly scraps - it turns out that alcohol not only does not expand anything, but also narrows.

Myth 12. "Under the degree" is easier to work.

Sometimes there really is such an illusion that after taking a glass it becomes easier to work. However, this is self-deception. A small dose of alcohol has a relaxing effect. A pleasant warmth envelops the body, and the muscles, compressed from tension all day, are unclenched. This bodily lightness creates a feeling as if it has become easier to work. But here lies the catch.

Relaxed not only the muscles, but also the brain. Concentration of attention decreases, fatigue increases, logical connections are broken. As a result, experiencing imaginary lightness, a person is forced to expend more effort to achieve the same result. Since the critical thinking in this moment reduced, a person can be completely satisfied with the work done, although in a sober state he would have rejected such a thing or would have demanded more and better from himself. It turns out that he really did it faster, but at the expense of quality.

Non-alcoholic traditions

Myth 13. Alcohol is a Russian tradition.

Such a statement can be made by a person who has not bothered to study history. Since ancient times, alcohol has been an expensive drink, and not everyone could afford it. Yes, there were cupbearers, but they sold their goods to the rich, who did not allow themselves this drink every day. If you read the works of writers of those years, you will notice that the guests were treated mainly to jelly and kvass.
As for weddings, at which today it is customary for wine to flow like water, the Slavs had a custom that strictly forbade young people to drink alcohol during a wedding. According to tradition, after the wedding, the first wedding night was waiting for the spouses, on which the first-born was often conceived. Wise people understood that alcohol at a wedding is a path to degeneration. Hence the ban on young people.

Now, when all traditions are violated, and the first wedding night is often not the first and does not lead to the birth of heirs, the tradition that keeps the young from drinking is forgotten. It became profitable to forget that there was no drunkenness in the traditions of the Russian people. To be convinced of this, it is worth raising documents indicating that as early as the beginning of the 20th century. 43% of men were teetotalers, and less than 10% were drunkards and alcoholics. It is worth thinking about where the belief arose that such strange traditions existed in Rus', and most importantly - why.

Myth 14. The French are a healthy nation thanks to the tradition of drinking wine.

Indeed, France ranks first in wine consumption, while at the same time, mortality from cardiovascular diseases in this country is lower than in many others. However, these two facts have nothing to do with each other. There were periods when wine consumption in France fell significantly, but this did not affect the mortality rates. Thus, there is no correlation (that is, a statistical relationship) between these phenomena. It is more logical to assume that the health of the French is associated with their commitment to healthy food and environmental programs.

Alcoholic myths are no less evil than the “green serpent” itself. Often people, trusting folk wisdom, use bad advice, taking alcohol “for warming up”, from stress, from pain, from a cold, which often leads them either to a hospital bed or to the ranks of alcoholics. Before repeating a statement after another person, check its accuracy. Remember that myths about alcoholic beverages are invented by those who benefit from it.

Isn't this a divorce? Why sell online?

    Yulek26 (Tver) 10 days ago

Sonya, what country do you live in? They sell on the Internet, because shops and pharmacies set their markup brutal. In addition, payment is only after receipt, that is, they first looked, checked and only then paid. And now everything is sold on the Internet - from clothes to TVs and furniture.

    Editorial response 10 days ago

Sonya, hello. This drug for the treatment of alcohol dependence is indeed not sold through the pharmacy chain and retail stores in order to avoid overpricing. Currently, you can only order official website. Be healthy!

"Alcohol is a drug that undermines the health of the population." This is an extract from the decision of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1975. This provision is in full accordance with the scientific definition of alcohol, which is given in the works of prominent Russian and world scientists.

For alcohol, as a drug, there are no harmless doses, as well as for morphine, heroin and other drugs prescribed only by doctors in very small doses and for a short time, i.e. for 1 - 2 days - otherwise, as with alcohol, drug addiction will arise, a person will become a drug addict and will not be able to live without it, dooming himself to death.

The French Academy of Sciences specifically tested this popular belief and proved that alcohol has no effect on influenza viruses, like other viruses, and cannot serve as a remedy. On the contrary, by weakening the body, alcohol contributes to frequent illnesses and the severe course of any infectious diseases. Earlier, we have already said that alcohol destroys the protection of the cell (cell membrane) and creates the danger of anything entering the cell, including infections.

Studies by Czechoslovak scientists have shown that a glass of beer drunk by a driver before leaving increases the number of accidents by 7 times. When taking 50 g of vodka - 30 times, and taking 200 g of vodka - 130 times compared with sober drivers. These data suggest that there is no "permissible" concentration of alcohol in the blood, which supposedly does not have a significant impact on the frequency of accidents in transport, does not exist.

When ingested, it primarily affects the stomach. And the stronger the alcoholic products, the more severe the defeat .(Under the influence of alcohol, profound changes occur in the entire glandular apparatus of the digestive canal. Glands located in the wall of the stomach and producing gastric juice containing pepsin, hydrochloric acid and various enzymes necessary for digestion of food, under the influence of irritation, first secrete a lot of mucus, and then they atrophy.Gastritis occurs, which, if the cause is not eliminated and not treated, can turn into stomach cancer.)

The defeat of the cardiovascular system when drinking alcohol is observed in the form of alcoholic hypertension or in myocardial damage.

On the contrary, the key to solving the entire alcohol problem lies in the rejection of “cultural” wine drinking in the first place.
(Culture, reason, morality - all this in the physiological aspect refers to the functions of the brain. And in order to explain the whole absurdity of the proposal to “drink culturally”, we must at least briefly recall how alcohol affects the brain.)

Attempts to attribute the harmful effects of alcohol only to those who are recognized as alcoholics are fundamentally wrong. The changes that occur in the brain under the influence of alcohol occur with the use of alcohol in any dose. The degree of these changes depends on the amount of alcoholic beverages and on the frequency of their intake, regardless of whether this person is simply a so-called "drinker" or an alcoholic.

It is at the wedding that alcohol consumption is especially harmful and even criminal. The day a family is formed, begins new life and the birth of the life of a future family member takes place - at this time to consume alcoholic beverages is simply blasphemy and a serious crime.

In the social sense, the most dangerous and far-reaching consequence of the use of alcoholic beverages is that they weaken and upset the habit of work and the normal need to work is disturbed very early. After drinking alcohol, sleep does not restore normal vigor and does not give a feeling of rest.

Factory production of pure alcohol, and with it the consumption of strong drinks, became widespread only with early XIX centuries. There are statistics dating back to 1750, although there are earlier figures. Average per capita consumption in Russia has always been the lowest among the major countries of the world. If we take such an indicator as the average world level of per capita alcohol consumption, then in Russia this indicator has always been 2-3 times lower. These data have been collected over the past two hundred years. Doctor of Medical Sciences I.A. Gundarov and a number of scientists studied the depopulation of the Russian population and determined that Russia is not going through a normal demographic transition, but a degradation resembling an epidemic in speed. The total population is reduced by 800-900 thousand every year - up to a million.

Don't give in to "pleasure"
Think for yourself, figure it out, check it out!
Rus' is not worth such losses -
Prohibition of intoxicating humiliation!

In our country, per capita alcohol consumption has recently remained quite low compared to some European countries and the United States, and this situation continued until the sixties of the twentieth century. It is also known that there were more teetotalers among men in Russia than in any other country. As for women, for most of them it was "shame and sin" to drink a sip of wine. But in recent decades, FALSE has been actively spreading - mainly through the media.

FALSE: Alcohol is a food product.

TRUTH: "Alcohol is a drug that undermines the health of the population." This is an extract from the decision of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1975. This provision is in full accordance with the scientific definition of alcohol, which is given in the works of prominent Russian and world scientists.

FALSE: Moderate amounts of alcohol are harmless.

TRUTH: For alcohol as a drug there are no harmless doses, as well as for morphine, heroin and other drugs prescribed only by doctors in very small doses and for a short time, i.e. for 1 - 2 days - otherwise, as with alcohol, drug addiction will arise, a person will become a drug addict and will not be able to live without it, dooming himself to death.

FALSE: Vodka the best remedy from the flu. A good portion of wine - and the flu is gone.

TRUTH: The French Academy of Sciences specifically tested this popular belief and proved that alcohol has no effect on influenza viruses, as well as on other viruses, and cannot serve as a remedy. On the contrary, by weakening the body, alcohol contributes to frequent illnesses and the severe course of any infectious diseases. Earlier, we have already said that alcohol destroys the protection of the cell (cell membrane) and creates the danger of anything entering the cell, including infections.

FALSE: Small doses of alcohol, if its concentration in the blood does not exceed a certain level, are not harmful and are acceptable both at work and in transport.

TRUTH: Studies by Czechoslovak scientists have shown that a glass of beer drunk by a driver before leaving increases the number of accidents by 7 times.

FALSE: It is useful to drink with "fatigue", for appetite, for pain in the stomach, ulcers, etc.

TRUTH: When ingested, it is primarily the stomach that suffers. And the stronger the alcoholic products, the more severe the defeat.

Under the influence of alcohol, profound changes occur in the entire glandular apparatus of the alimentary canal. Glands located in the wall of the stomach and producing gastric juice containing pepsin, hydrochloric acid and various enzymes necessary for the digestion of food, under the influence of irritation, first secrete a lot of mucus, and then atrophy. Gastritis occurs, which, if the cause is not eliminated and not treated, can turn into stomach cancer.

FALSE: Cognac and vodka dilate blood vessels; for pain in the heart - this is the best remedy.

TRUTH: Damage to the cardiovascular system when drinking alcohol is observed in the form of alcoholic hypertension or in myocardial damage.

FALSE: If you drink "culturally", then there is nothing wrong with it.

TRUTH: On the contrary, the key to solving the whole alcohol problem lies in the rejection of “cultural” wine drinking in the first place.

Culture, reason, morality - all this in a physiological aspect refers to the functions of the brain. And in order to explain the whole absurdity of the proposal to “drink culturally”, we must at least briefly recall how alcohol affects the brain.

A more subtle study of the brain of a person who died from acute alcohol intoxication shows that changes in the protoplasm and nucleus occurred in the nerve cells, just as pronounced as in case of poisoning with other strong poisons. At the same time, the cells of the cerebral cortex are affected much more than the subcortical parts, that is, alcohol acts more strongly on the cells of the higher centers than the lower ones. In the brain, a strong overflow of blood was noted, often with rupture of blood vessels in the meninges and on the surface of the cerebral gyri. In cases of acute alcohol poisoning, but not fatal, in the brain and in the nerve cells of the cortex there are the same changes as described above, leading to profound changes in the activity and psyche of a person. The same changes in the brain occur in people who drink, whose death occurred from causes not related to alcohol consumption. The described changes in the substance of the brain are irreversible. They leave behind an indelible mark in the form of loss of small and tiny structures of the brain, which inevitably affects its function.

FALSE: All the harm done to liquor is attributed to alcoholics. It's the alcoholics who suffer, they have all the changes, and those who drink moderately, they don't have these changes.

TRUTH: Attempts to attribute the harmful effects of alcohol only to those who are recognized as alcoholics are fundamentally wrong. The changes that occur in the brain under the influence of alcohol occur with the use of alcohol in any dose. The degree of these changes depends on the amount of alcoholic beverages and on the frequency of their intake, regardless of whether this person is simply a so-called "drinker" or an alcoholic.

Specially conducted experiments and observations on a person who drank an average dose, that is, one - one and a half glasses of vodka, found that in all cases, without exception, alcohol acts in the same way, namely: it slows down and impedes mental processes, while motor acts at first speed up, and then slows down. At the same time, more complex mental processes and the simplest mental functions are preserved longer, especially those associated with motor representations.

As for the motor acts, they are accelerated, but this acceleration depends on the relaxation of the inhibitory impulses, and in them the inaccuracy of the work is immediately noticed, namely, the phenomenon of a premature reaction.

With repeated alcohol intake, the damage to the higher centers of brain activity lasts from 8 to 20 days. If alcohol is consumed for a long time, then the work of these centers is not restored.

On the basis of scientific data, it has been proven that, first of all, the latest, most recent achievements obtained by mental stress, for example, in the last week, month, are lost, and a person returns to that level after drinking alcohol. mental development, which he had a week or a month ago.

If alcohol poisoning occurs frequently, then the subject remains mentally immobile, and thinking is ordinary and stereotyped. In the future, there comes a weakening of older, stronger, stronger associations and a weakening of perceptions. As a result, mental processes are narrowed, losing freshness and originality.

Along with the defeat of the mental functions of the cerebral cortex, there are profound changes in morality. As the highest and most perfect feelings, as a crown in the development of brain functions, they suffer very early. And the first thing we observe in people who drink is indifference to moral interests, which appear very early, at a time when mental and mental acts remain almost unchanged. It manifests itself in the form of moral partial anesthesia, in the form of a complete impossibility to experience a certain emotional state.

Among the inevitable consequences of a decline in morality is an increase in lies, or at least a decrease in sincerity and truth. The people tied the loss of shame and the loss of truthfulness into an inseparable logical concept"shameless lie". That is why the lie grows, that a person, having lost shame, at the same time has lost in his conscience the most important moral correction of truthfulness.

The ability to feel shame is lost by drinkers very early; The paralysis of this lofty human feeling lowers a person in the moral sense much more than any psychosis.

FALSE: When you start to convince that alcohol consumption brings nothing but harm, then many, even agreeing with the main provisions that wine is harmful, still put forward such an argument: how can you not drink, for example, at a wedding!?

TRUTH: It is at the wedding that alcohol consumption is especially harmful and even criminal. On the day when a family is formed, a new life begins and the life of a future family member is born - at this time to consume alcoholic beverages is simply blasphemy and a serious crime.

FALSE: Wine relieves stress, so on a holiday and on a day of rest, you need to drink.

TRUTH: In a social sense, the most dangerous and far-reaching consequence of the use of alcoholic beverages is that they weaken and upset the habit of work and the normal need to work is disturbed very early. After drinking alcohol, sleep does not restore normal vigor and does not give a feeling of rest.

FALSE: You don't die from wine. They have been drinking in Russia for a thousand years, and it is still expanding. The people are not dying out, but there are more of them.

TRUTH: The factory production of pure alcohol, and with it the consumption of strong liquor, only became widespread from the beginning of the 19th century. There are statistics dating back to 1750, although there are earlier figures. Average per capita consumption in Russia has always been the lowest among the major countries of the world. If we take such an indicator as the average world level of per capita alcohol consumption, then in Russia this indicator has always been 2-3 times lower. The total population is reduced by 800-900 thousand every year - up to a million.

The use and distribution of alcohol in Russia rests only on sweet lies. And vice versa, it is possible to stop this threatening spread only by telling the truth, which is rarely found anywhere, but certainly exists. Every person should know the truth, no matter how bitter it is. And only knowing the enemy in the face, a person can choose for himself to drink or not to drink to him. The facts given in the article are scientific, references are given to sources, and not to "wide research around the world", as in some publications.

Most of the material for the article is taken from the book by Fedor Grigoryevich Uglov "The Truth and Lies about Legal Drugs", written by him in 2004. Why can we safely trust this person? Because F.G. Uglov - was the most famous and oldest Russian surgeon, an academician of three academies, soberly looked at life, tirelessly fought for the life and health of the people of the entire USSR, and after Russia. Listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest practicing surgeon in Russia and the CIS. We can believe, finally, because he had a kind and sympathetic heart.

Truth #1. Alcoholic drinks are drugs

An indispensable component of all alcoholic beverages is ethyl alcohol. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 1975 made a special decision: "Consider alcohol as a drug that undermines health." But in our country, back in 1972, GOST 18300-72 was valid for ethyl alcohol, in which chapter 5 “Safety requirements” stated that “ethyl alcohol is a highly flammable, colorless liquid with a characteristic odor, is a potent drug that first causes excitation and then paralysis of the nervous system.
A.N. Timofeev in the book "Neuro-psychic disorders in alcohol intoxication" (L., 1955) writes: "Alcohol refers to narcotic substances of the fatty series, acting in a paralyzing way on any living cell. The cells of the central nervous system, especially the cells of the cerebral cortex, are most sensitive to alcohol…” (p. 7).

From the above, it would be fair to extend to alcoholic beverages the law that protects the country from drugs.

Truth #2. Alcohol lowers intelligence

It has been proven that even small doses of alcohol
however, mental faculties will be weakened.
V.M. Bekhterev

A person does not have such an organ that would not suffer from the intake of alcoholic products - any, no matter whether it is vodka, wine or beer. However, the brain suffers the most and most severely. Because there the concentration of alcohol is maximum. If we take the concentration of alcohol in the blood as a unit, then in the liver it will be 1.45, and in the brain - 1.75.

The mechanism of destruction of the body is very simple. One example clearly demonstrates it. In 1961, the three American physicists Nicely, Moscow, and Pennington examined the human eye through a long-focus microscope they had made.

What did physicists see? They saw the walls of the vessel, they saw leukocytes (white blood cells) and erythrocytes (red blood cells that carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues, and carbon dioxide in the opposite direction). Blood flowed through the vessels, everything was filmed. During the examination of another client, physicists were amazed - a person had blood clots walking through the vessel: clots, gluing of red blood cells. Moreover, in these gluings, they counted 5, 10, 40, 400, up to 1000 pieces of erythrocytes. They figuratively called them grapes. The physicists were frightened, and the man sits as if nothing had happened. The second or third is normal, and the fourth has blood clots again. We began to find out and found out: these two were drinking.

Immediately, physicists gave a sober person, whose vessels were all right, to drink a mug of beer. After 15 minutes, alcoholic gluing of red blood cells appeared in the blood of a former sober person.

This experience is similar to the school experience in a biology lesson, when a few drops of blood are dropped into a test tube with water, the water turns into Orange color, immediately a few drops of vodka and blood are dripped into the test tube, and before our eyes the blood coagulates into flakes.

"Grapes" literally clog the capillaries in the human brain that feed its cells, resulting in hypoxia, that is, oxygen starvation of brain cells. It is hypoxia that is perceived by a person as an allegedly harmless state of intoxication. And this leads to “numbness”, and then the death of parts of the brain.

Yu. K. Pugach in the book "126 exercises for the development of memory" writes: "if you want to keep all the flexibility of your memory, you need to avoid alcohol."

But that's not all. The effect of alcohol is not limited to 1-2 public holidays- Like he drank and that's it. No. American scientists have found that the use of 200 gr. "dry" wine reduces human intelligence for 18-20 days!

Thus, alcohol and intellectual activity are not compatible!

Truth #3. Alcohol is much more dangerous for Russia than for Europe

Don't drink
Alcoholic drinks.
Drinkers - poison
Surrounding - torture.
V. V. Mayakovsky

Death from opium in Russia happens 3-5 times more often than in other European countries. Calculations have shown that alcoholic deaths per million population are 11 in France and 55 in Russia. low per capita alcohol consumption.

The harmful effect of alcohol depends, first of all, on the amount of the drink taken orally in terms of pure alcohol, on the toxicity of impurities. But, in addition, the toxicity of alcohol depends to a very large extent on the climatic conditions in which a person lives who uses alcoholic “drinks”.

Research by I.A. Sikorsky was given the opportunity to establish that a warmer climate reduces the danger of drinking alcohol, and cold greatly increases the possibility of poisoning. Low temperature intensifies the effect of alcohol to such an extent that the external cold is equivalent to a double dose of alcohol. Therefore, the use of alcoholic "drinks" in cold countries is twice as dangerous as in warm countries (I.A. Sikorsky, "Poisons of the Nervous System", Kiev, 1900, v. 4, p. 134-176).

Considering the cold climate of Russia, we must know that the Russian people, for their self-preservation, must be more sober than other peoples living in warmer climatic zones.

Truth #4. Children's body is more susceptible to the effects of alcohol

Tyrshanov and Reitz from the Bekhterev laboratory established much more strong influence alcohol on young developing organisms. When puppies were drinking alcohol for 1.5-3 months, a striking difference was found in the size of the head in “drinking” and normal puppies. When weighed in all cases, the cerebral hemispheres, especially the frontal lobes of the puppies treated with alcohol, weighed less than those of the control ones. The effect is more noticeable than with more early age started giving alcohol.

The lethal dose for an adult is 7-8 g of alcohol per kilogram of body weight, which approximately corresponds to 1-1.25 liters of vodka. For children, the lethal dose (g/kg of body weight) is 4-5 times less than for adults!

The results of the work of doctors and teachers in Vienna, who evaluated the effect of different doses of alcohol on the performance of schoolchildren, showed that, even at “moderate” doses, mental potential decreases, memory deteriorates, apathy for learning appears, and errors are made in mathematical calculations.

Truth #5. Alcohol adversely affects sexual function

The effect of alcohol on sexual function occurs through three main mechanisms. Let's consider these mechanisms on the example of the sexual function of a man. Firstly, alcohol, reaching the sex glands with blood, has a direct traumatic effect on them. As in any other organs, thrombosis and destruction of small vessels occur in the sex glands, as a result of which some of the cells are deprived of oxygen and nutrition and die. The ability to regenerate the main male sex gland - the testes in adult men is practically absent. In alcoholics, fewer germ cells are formed in the seminiferous tubules, they have shape defects, the vast majority of the germ cells or all of them are immobile.

Each alcoholic injury to the testicles leads to irreversible degenerative changes in them. As a result, with the systematic use of alcoholic beverages, the testes decrease in size, and the lumen of the seminiferous tubules, in which male germ cells - spermatozoa, are generated, also decreases.

Secondly, alcohol damage to the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, and the associated decrease in the regulatory activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary system, leads to disorders of the complex reflex activity of the central nervous system associated with the specific implementation of sexual function, to the so-called hypothalamic impotence.

Thirdly, under the influence of alcohol, the normal activity of the liver is disrupted. The fact is that a woman's body normally always contains a certain amount of the male sex hormone (testosterone), and in the body of a man - female sex hormones - estradiols. In addition, small amounts of testosterone are produced in both men and women by the adrenal cortex.

Neutralization of female sex hormones in men occurs in the liver. Therefore, when the activity of the liver is weakened, as a result of its alcoholic damage, the female sex hormone accumulates in the blood of a man. The result of this is the feminization of men: the appearance of female secondary sexual characteristics - the body of a man begins to take shape according to the female type.

Also, according to sexologists, at least in 85% of cases (!) Impotence is caused precisely by the systematic use of alcoholic beverages.

In women, alcoholic sexual dysfunction occurs faster and is even more profound than in men. Numerous observations of pediatricians, as well as a large amount of experimental material accumulated in experiments on animals, allow us to draw a completely definite conclusion: drinking women are unable to reproduce full-fledged offspring. The children born to them always show certain deviations in physical or mental development(D.D. Fedotov, "Alcohol and Mental Health", 1974).

Truth #6. Consequences of drunken conceptions - underdeveloped children

Poverty and crime, nervous and mental illnesses,
the degeneration of offspring - that's what alcohol does.
V.M. Bekhterev

If conception occurs in a state of any alcoholic intoxication, even in people who do not drink alcohol, then in 9 out of 10 cases, defective children will be born, with varying degrees of deviation from the norm. Not only idiots are born, but also half-idiots, quarter-idiots, 1/8 idiots, and then people with a bad character. The character is bad because a person has already significantly destroyed the most important parts of the brain.

It becomes clear why laws ancient rome forbade young people under 30 years old, that is, in the years of the most active reproduction of offspring, to drink alcoholic beverages. According to the laws Ancient Greece a drunken husband was strictly forbidden to meet with his wife. In Rus', the bride and groom were forbidden to drink alcohol during the wedding.

Truth #7. Alcohol has a direct impact on crime rates

The most terrible consequence of drunken drinks is that wine darkens the mind and conscience of people: people from drinking wine become ruder, stupider and angrier.
L. N. Tolstoy

From drunkenness to hooliganism and crime - one step. According to the WHO Executive Board, in the world under the influence of alcohol intoxication, up to 50 percent of rapes, up to 72 percent of armed attacks, and up to 86 percent of murders are committed.

With an increase in per capita alcohol consumption - (even a slight one) the crime curve increases more sharply. In other words, arithmetic progression(per capita consumption) develops into geometric (crime); this is especially noticeable in the increase in hooliganism.

According to some Western scientists country, which does not produce or sell liquor at home, can close 9/10 of its prisons.

“Drunkenness is a focus, from where rays lead to a gambling den, and to bribes, and to embezzlement, and to unbearable sexual unruliness, to rape,” E.M. wrote in one of his articles. Yaroslavsky.

I remember tragic case, which occurred on April 27, 2009, when a police major shot 9 people. “Perhaps the cause of the incident was a mental disorder associated with turmoil in personal life officer" was said then. The dumb question arises: “Would he shoot, being sober?!”. Or vodka has nothing to do with it?!

And if an alcoholic husband beats his wife and children, this is also a crime!

Truth #8. "Dry law" - a reasonable and most effective measure

The habit of drinking alcohol harms humanity
more than war, famine and plague combined.
Darwin

"Dry Law" was in Russia in 1914 and 1985. The initiators of the "dry laws" are teetotalers popular movements. But the opposing forces were great. One of the representatives of such forces, in 1911, Baron Ginzburg, alarmed by the growth of the anti-alcohol movement, said in his circle: “I get more gold from the supply of vodka for state wine shops, from industrial distillation than from all my gold mines. Therefore, the state-owned sale of drinks must be preserved and justified at all costs in the eyes of the notorious public opinion.

There have even been attempts to prove that the use of "moderate" doses of alcohol is a normal phenomenon. In 1912, they turned to Academician I.P. Pavlov with a request to give an opinion on the project of creating a laboratory to justify the harmlessness of moderate alcohol consumption. The scientist replied with the following letter: “The institute, which sets itself the indispensable goal of discovering the harmless use of alcohol, justly does not have the right to be called or considered scientific ... Therefore, it seems that all those who cherish state funds, the health of the population and the dignity of Russian science, have the duty to raise his vote against the establishment of an institution of that name…”.

After the adoption of the “prohibition” in 1985, a shameless reproach erupted, appealing either to “folk traditions” or to “human rights”, queues for vodka were artificially created, riots and brawls were organized in them, this was covered by the media. There were articles criticizing the "dry law". In particular, I. Lisochkin writes: “... A protracted struggle (meaning the struggle for a sober lifestyle after the decision of the Central Committee of the Party in May 1985), without giving any real results, cost state budget more than four Chernobyls (39 billion against 8); the number of those poisoned by surrogates significantly exceeded the losses in terrible war in Afghanistan" or "... the ribs of respectable citizens are cracking in kilometer-long queues...".

Here is what academician F. G. Uglov answers: “Yes, we really did not receive 39 billion in the budget. But this is a brilliant and great blessing for the people. We drink alcohol for about 33 billion rubles a year. We are paying for this with millions of people dying from alcohol-related causes and the birth of 200,000 handicapped and mentally handicapped children. And if we do not drink this poison for an amount exceeding our annual income, then we have saved more than a million lives and avoided the birth of 250,000 handicapped children. And this fact horrifies Lisochkin. He would like the plan for the sale of narcotic poison to be overfulfilled, so that even more people die - both adults and children.

He is worried that 12-13 thousand died from poisoning by surrogates. But it is well known that even without any restrictions on the sale of alcohol, thousands of people die from surrogates. At the same time, not everyone knows (and Lisochkin does not write about this) that 40 thousand of our fellow citizens die annually only from acute alcohol poisoning. This is four times more than the number of deaths from the use of surrogates - and the author is silent on this matter.

As for the broken ribs of respectable citizens, I am deeply convinced that not a single respectable, self-respecting citizen will stand in a kilometer-long queue for vodka. And in drunken fights, ribs are broken many times more.

Lisochkin sheds a tear about the "poor" drunkards standing in line for their own misfortune. I pity the unfortunate freaks, handicapped and mentally handicapped children who are born from those who stand in kilometer-long lines. If the author saw these unfortunates (and there are hundreds of thousands of them!), Doomed to a semi-animal, hopeless existence in orphanages with living parents, he might have a different attitude towards those who, losing human dignity, stand in lines for hours for liquid , which deprives them of the remnants of reason.

"Dry law" was to the liking of the citizens of our country. After 1985, the profit from sobriety was 3-4 times higher than the shortfall from the sale of alcohol and tobacco poisons. However, due to the dominance of individual social groups Prohibition ceased to be enforced.

But back in 1975, WHO concluded that without legislative (that is, prohibitive) measures, all types of anti-alcohol propaganda are ineffective.

Every man of sense should know: alcohol brings great material benefits to businessmen like Baron Ginzburg, and the state and the people - only ruin and death. Therefore, the "dry law" "Ginsburg" is not needed.

Truth #9. Alcohol is a weapon of mass destruction

The clearest example of the destruction of people by the "alcohol bomb" is the fate of the natives of North America. This nation numbered 100 million people.

According to Professor B.I. Iskakov, who comprehensively studied this problem, the destruction of morality begins very early, already with the so-called "moderate" consumption of alcoholic products, with a per capita consumption of 3-4 liters per year. With this level of alcohol consumption, alcohol-moral collapse gradually begins. A decline in morals among adults and youth begins. And as is known from history, with the decline of morals, the death of all the local civilizations that have died so far began. With a further increase in alcohol consumption to 6-8 liters per person per year, the alcoholization of the plasma of nerve, reproductive and immune cells increases.

Development begins general atmosphere stagnation, connivance, conservatism, pre-crisis state of the economy and production; lagging behind in technology, education, culture, science, art, uniting people according to vices.

With the growth of alcohol consumption to 10-15 or more liters of per capita consumption, chain reaction degeneration and degradation of peoples according to the law of "three generations": relatively healthy half of the parents, a quarter of the children, one eighth of the grandchildren remain with the irreversible destruction of the gene pool.

In Russia, however, 22 (!) liters of pure alcohol per capita will now be consumed, and this is without taking into account handicraft production.

Lie #1. Wine drinking in Russia is traditional

One has to hear such expressions as “a Russian peasant without a glass is not a peasant”, “drinking in Russia is a tradition”, “drunkenness is a “Russian disease”, etc. This suggests that Russians (especially young people) know their history very poorly, culture, weakened the connection between generations - young people and the elderly. For some reason, we believe Western films more than our ancestors, our scientists, and just sober people.

Russia has traditionally been one of the most sober countries in the world. Only Norway drank less than us in Europe. We stood at the penultimate place in the world in terms of per capita alcohol consumption for three centuries from the 17th to the beginning of the 20th century. And until the 17th century, pure alcohol was not produced in factories.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, per capita alcohol consumption has jumped sharply. It was less than 3 liters, and by 1914 reached an unheard of for the so-called drunk tsarist Russia level of 4.7 liters.

In 1914, on the eve of World War I, Russia adopted a “dry law”. As a result, the production and consumption of alcohol in Russia has dropped to almost zero - less than 0.2 liters per person per year, that is, less than a glass of alcohol per person per year.

“... All youth evenings were then held without wine. Even homemade beer, which my mother prepared very tasty and not very intoxicated, was not served to young people. At that time, it would be strange and unusual for us to see a bottle of alcohol on the table among young people, although our older brother was already over 18. Even adult guests were treated to tea by their parents. Beer, homemade wine was put on the table only on major holidays or solemn days, and even then in limited quantities. They drank a little, in small piles or glasses. They danced, sang, played more ... ”writes F. G. Uglov in the book“ Captive of Illusions ”. And further "... in his hometown he knew only three people who drank constantly, and their names became common nouns ...".

And only in 1960 Russia exceeded the world average level of alcohol consumption for 1980 in 5 liters. (
