Again, just like last year, we are comparing passing scores to various universities in Novosibirsk. By the weakest applicant, one can judge both the popularity of the university and the quality of education it provides. We hope our review will be useful to mothers whose children will graduate from school in 2019!

Please note that we are comparing GPA income to the budget, taking into account both creative tests and points for individual achievements. The result was rounded up to a whole number, so the total score may differ from the calculated one and a half points.

Since in some universities the number of specialties can reach several dozen, for most educational institutions we provide lists of faculties on our graphs. For each - the most "expensive" and the "cheapest" specialty in terms of the passing score, all the rest are located within this range.

Novosibirsk State University (NSU)

Novosibirsk State University is traditionally considered the most prestigious and difficult university to enter. Indeed, some specialties amaze the imagination with their requirements; so, to become a linguist, you need to have a GPA above 92! However, this situation is more typical for the humanities, where the enrollment for the budget is very small.

As for mass specialties, they are still available to the talented and diligent: you can become a geologist with an average score of 75.

Contrary to popular belief about the growth of the passing GPA compared to the previous year, this is not entirely true at NSU. Yes, in geology, he grew up by 4 points, but to enter the medical business or to a prestigious faculty information technologies became even easier.

Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU)

NSTU still competes with NSU, but (even simply because of its size) it is easier to become a student here than at a classical university. With an average score of 80, you can confidently enter anywhere, well, except for the faculties of business and liberal education, you will have to work hard.

By the way, it is more difficult to enter the specialty "management" at NSTU than at NSU: the average score is 88 versus 83.

Novosibirsk State Medical University (NSMU)

Sudden Changes at Medical University! If last year pediatrics was the most unpopular specialty, then this year it has overtaken pharmacy and medical and preventive care. And the average score of future pediatricians has risen by five points at once, if it is below 75, one can not even dream of training at the expense of the budget. Medicine has suddenly become more popular than clinical psychology.

And becoming a psychologist at NSMU, by the way, is not much easier than at medical faculty NSU: the average score of applicants differs by only two points, 77 and 79.

Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEU, Narxoz)

The situation in Narxoz has also changed. The “Innovatika”, which was popular last year, was suddenly ignored by applicants; it ended up in last place on the list of preferences. But even when entering this specialty, the average score should be quite high - not lower than 66. “Programmers” last year were accepted with 63 points, this year the competition has increased significantly: the average score should not be lower than 70.

In general, we can say that in comparison with other top universities, NSUEM has significantly increased the passing score, and it is precisely due to not the most popular specialties of the university, which suddenly “grew up in price” among applicants.

Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (RANEPA), branch in Novosibirsk

It is not easy to become a lawyer these days - the average score should be under 90, no matter what university you enter. Perhaps this is due to the fact that in many universities this area was not attested and closed as non-core. At the Academy of Civil Service, the average score of those who entered this direction has grown by 3.5 points!

It should be noted that the list of directions in this university differs markedly from last year. In particular, the relatively unpopular “Psychology of official activity” appeared, which trains specialists for “moral and psychological support of official activity.” Who knows, maybe this is a chance for your child to become a psychologist - the average score is still just below 70!

Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (NSPU)

The Pedagogical University is perhaps the most confusing in terms of admission. The fact is that at most faculties students are offered to receive not one, but two specialties, for example: a teacher of physics and computer science, geography and English. Depending on the set of specialties, entrance scores differ, and sometimes quite significantly. Let's say, consider the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information and Economic Education. If your child dreams of teaching economics and computer science, then you need to consider that each of these specialties, coupled with physics, is much more accessible than the Economics + ICT set: the average score differs by five points!

There are specialties close in spirit, the competition for which differs in different faculties. For example, preschool defectology at the Institute of Childhood requires an applicant to have an average score of at least 82 (this is, in fact, a lot!). While it is possible to become a defectologist at the Faculty of Psychology with an average score of 63 - you must admit, "a huge distance."

Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies (SGUGiT)

Surprising changes have taken place in the preferences of university applicants for geosystems and technology. Firstly, the passing score has noticeably grown here: if last year the average score of 65 guaranteed admission to any specialty, then this year it should have been five points higher.

Secondly, there was a change of leaders: the most popular was the specialty "Technosphere safety", +7 points to the average passing score last year! But “Ammunition and Fuses” has lost the favor of applicants: now it is the most unpopular specialty, although the passing score has not changed much.

Siberian State University of Telecommunications and Informatics (SibGUTI)

The preferences of SibGUTI applicants have also changed. The absolute leader of the last year is the direction "Mathematical and Information Support economic activity” became an outsider of the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering in 2018: the average passing score fell by four points. On the other hand, the specialty "System Software", which did not particularly interest applicants last year, this year has become the most popular at the university, and the average passing score has increased by 9 units at once!

I would like to note that the preferences of applicants technical universities not permanent. Both SGUGiT and SibSUTI surprised applicants this year with falls and rises in the passing score for various specialties. So if your child is not interested in a specific specialty, but rather, the faculty as a whole, apply for several specialties at once and track the change in rating between the first and second waves in order to “shift” the documents in time.

Novosibirsk State Agrarian University (NSAU)

And hello again, Agrarian University, a refuge for those who could not (or did not want to) please themselves, their parents and teachers with high USE scores. Where else can you go with a GPA of 45? Yes, practically nowhere. But on "Landscape architecture" - you can! By the way, this specialty, which was the most popular last year (minimum passing score 59), has become the most unpopular this year, setting, it seems, a record drop in the average passing score - 14 points! But veterinary medicine, which was equally interesting for applicants in 2017, has become less accessible to C students this year: +4 points to the passing score (the minimum average score is 64). How it happened - we do not understand, but we can say one thing:

If you plan to come to the admissions office next year and expect that the distribution of applicants will be the same - do not hope. Graduates rush about unpredictably, like shoals of herring in the ocean. Either give them landscape architecture, or they don’t need it at all ...

Yes, against the background of the scandal with the state certification of specialties, which erupted literally in the spring, you may have a question: well, what about lawyers and economists in agriculture? They are still recruited, but only on a commercial basis, so they were not included in our review.

Siberian State University of Communications (SGUPS)

Compared to last year, the University of Railways looks much more solid.

If in 2017 the minimum average passing score was 40 (which, generally speaking, caused some bewilderment), then in 2018 the lowest score was 52, and in most areas it was about 70, which, generally speaking, puts it on a par with NSTU.

Like agrarians, road workers teach lawyers and economists only for money.

Siberian State University of Water Transport (SGUVT)

The career of a water engineer attracts applicants much less than that of a railway worker. Having an average score of 45 in reserve, you can be guaranteed to enter any faculty, and 65 opens the way to any specialty. However, last year things were even worse: you could become a student by barely breaking the mark of 30 points!

SGUVT also has a curious inversion: the specialty "Energy Supply" from the most popular last year became the most almost unpopular this year, second only to "Ship Power Plants". The average score has lost almost 18 points! Nevertheless, you won’t be able to pass the SSUVT with an average score, like last year - you need at least 40.

Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design, Art (NGUADI)

Let's return to universities with high and very high passing scores. Strictly speaking, for the university of architecture, design and art, excellent USE results are not enough - you also need to pass creative tests: drawing and / or drafting.

Nevertheless, the average score in NGUADI is an average score, and a future student should have at least 76, and better - 80 and above.

Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (NGASU, Sibstrin)

Many applicants consider Sibstrin a light version of NGUADI. Indeed, the specialties are similar, well, except that in NGASU, a practical bias is still noticeable.

However, this year the difference in passing average scores among architects is only two points (ie, the benefit is rather that you can avoid a harsh creative competition).

Novosibirsk Technological Institute (NTI)

And one more institute where you can get a variety of specialties, including the top profession of a designer. This is the "most accessible" design of this year - the passing average score is 76, which is lower than in NSPU and, especially, NGUADI, although here, too, a creative competition is provided for this specialty.

What conclusions can be drawn from our review?

The passing score in the universities of Novosibirsk really increased compared to the previous year, but this happened due to less popular universities, which, to be honest, in the admission campaign - 2017 did not refuse almost anyone. In popular ranking universities, the scores remained practically unchanged.

There are still universities in the city where you can enter with an average score of 45. Yes, we can name them by name: this is an agricultural university and a university of water transport. Who said that higher education is not available?

Applicant preferences are changing at a whirlwind; specialties that are in the top this year may lose popularity next year and vice versa.

Get ready to enter calmly - everyone who needs to enter will do! We are sure!

Prepared by Alena Novikova

About what has changed in the rules for admission to NSU, what new benefits will appear and which faculties will add budget places, says the executive secretary of the selection committee Georgy SHUSTOV:

This year, applicants can choose up to five universities and up to three directions in each, providing the selection committee with copies of documents. The first wave - from June 28 to August 5, after the enrollment of Olympiads. According to the law "On Education in the Russian Federation", the main changes will affect the quotas for applicants who receive benefits, the conditions for admission of the winners of the Olympiads, as well as the validity of the USE results.

- Who is included in the category of beneficiaries and how many people can apply for benefits?

There has already been information in the media that applicants with privileges will be given up to 10% of places in universities. But here it is important to understand that we are talking about 10% in each direction, and not in general for the university (then the numbers will be different). This is the first thing I want to draw attention to. Secondly, these benefits include disabled people and orphans under 23 years old, as well as children who have only one parent - a disabled person of the 1st group and the average family income per person is below the subsistence level. It is for these applicants that we allocate at least 10% of preferential places for out-of-competition enrollment. Applicants are enrolled on the condition successful delivery USE (or internal university exams). A beneficiary who has not passed within the quota can enter on a general basis or try his luck at another university.

- Internal exams universities go as an alternative to the exam. Who can submit them?

Disabled children - not every one of them can pass the exam. And although they receive a certificate based on the results of the state final certification, when entering a university they can choose: the Unified State Examination or university exams. For example, it will be difficult for a visually impaired graduate to pass the exam at school (the commission for conducting this exam is not obliged to meet halfway), but the university must create all conditions for such an applicant to pass entrance exam.

- What should be the results of the exam for applicants for benefits?

Not less than the minimum score determined by the university. For example, at least 40 points in each of the three exams. But this does not mean that everyone who scores 120 points automatically goes to the budget. The best will be chosen. Last year, the passing score at almost all NSU faculties was over 200. With a result below the minimum, there is nothing to count on. The new "Law on Education of the Russian Federation" has sharply reduced the list of children who fall under benefits and apply for enrollment out of competition. Now the children of prosecutors, veterans of military operations, police officers, firefighters, employees of the penitentiary system have a preferential right to enroll only under otherwise equal conditions.

- With Olympiads, as far as I know, the story is different. The winners and prize-winners of which Olympiads are eligible for admission benefits at NSU? And are there any restrictions on the number of accepted in this case?

The law defines two categories of Olympiads. The All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, the fourth final stage - in each subject there are usually few such winners, about a hundred for the whole country. Last year, 16 enrolled at NSU. There are no restrictions for them, diplomas of winners are valid for 4 years.

Another category is the Olympiads, which are held under the auspices of the Russian Union of Rectors and are approved by the order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation; in 2014, the list included more than 70 Olympiads throughout Russia. They are divided into three levels in accordance with the number of participants and regions, the complexity of the tasks. Winners and prize-winners receive diplomas. And universities, depending on the degree of the diploma, can either accept such an applicant without exams, or give 100 points for the subject (but on condition that, according to the results USE graduate scored at least 65 points in this subject). In the event that the winner (prize-winner) received a certificate of graduation from a school not in Russia, he has the right to take university exams.

- What individual achievements of applicants are taken into account for admission?

Each university decides this issue on its own. So, sports achievements give the right to preferential admission. However, we do not risk anything by prescribing these benefits - winners and medalists of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships in those sports that are considered Olympic, as a rule, go to sports universities. There were no such applicants at NSU yet. We take into account the achievements associated with academic success. For example, we take into account the winners of the third stage of the All-Russian Olympiad (zonal level). By law, they are not entitled to benefits, but we have the right to take into account these achievements.

Anna SYZRANOVA

Happy talented guys

About potential scientific personnel far-sighted physicists worry in advance.

In the first academic semester of 2011, the winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiads, enrolled in the faculty, in addition to the usual received a scholarship from the INP SB RAS (5 thousand rubles per month). In 2014, physicists decided to educate children at the expense of the faculty.

We have 160 budget places, 10 more than last year, - says the dean Faculty of Physics NSU Alexander Bondar. - In addition, we are recruiting a small group of students (10-15 people) to study at the extrabudgetary department at the expense of the faculty. Applicants who have scored high scores, but did not pass the competition for the budget. The criteria are standard: if two guys have the same scores in three subjects, then the one who has a higher USE in physics has an advantage. If here they are equal, then we take into account the average score of the certificate and participation in the Olympiads. The benefit is granted to students during their studies at the faculty if the curriculum is successfully completed.
