Mysterious houses of the world. Mystical Winchester House: the most unusual and inhospitable building in the world. Rainham Hall, England

Why is there no 11th entrance in the House on the waterfront, and the dead leopard is depicted in the paintings at the Denver airport? You can talk about some buildings not only as architectural structures, but also as riddles.

1 Pentagon

The Pentagon is the largest office building in the world. It got its name because of the shape - regular pentagon. The perimeter of this huge Arlington geometric figure is about 1405 meters.

The Pentagon is still the most optimal structure in terms of ergonomics. The building is crossed by ten corridors in the center, which connect five pentagons coming from the center.

So, an employee of the American military department can get to any point of the building along the perimeter, spending no more than seven minutes on it.

The Pentagon is all about the magic of numbers. It was built in 491 days. If, according to the Pythagorean method, we add these numbers (4 + 9 + 1), then we get - 5 (the number of sides of the pentagon). If we go further, according to the same Pythagorean method, and decide to multiply the numbers (4X9X1), we get - 36. If we calculate the sum of all integers from 1 to 36, we get - 666.

The construction of the Pentagon was planned to begin on September 11, 1941 and finish on January 15, 1943. According to the deadlines, the builders met the day. Date September 11 mysteriously accompanies the Pentagon. On this day in 1941, the construction of the building began, in 2001 the Pentagon was attacked by a Boeing, and on September 11, 2002, the entire territory of the Pentagon was put back into operation.

2 Denver Airport

The largest airport in the US. Its area is 140 square kilometers. For supporters of the world conspiracy theory, this building is almost the central link in the plans of the World Government.

According to one version, the airport was built on the site of an ancient Indian cemetery, which is why its roofs are decorated with tents in the form of wigwams. According to the official version, the tents symbolize rocky mountains.

The runways from above resemble a swastika in shape, which also cannot but arouse suspicion among people who are inclined to see a hoax in everything.

In fact, this form is the most convenient for traffic management and allows you to minimize the dependence of flights on weather conditions.

The Denver airport seems to have been deliberately built to give conspiracy theorists something to talk about. So, during its construction, despite the fact that Denver is a flat city, as much land was taken out as would be enough for a third of the city's territory. This gives some people reason to argue that the airport building is the tip of the iceberg, and there is a whole city under it, not that military base, not a concentration camp (yes, they say that!).

Raise questions and four strange paintings by artist Leo Tanguma, hanging in the airport building. As conceived by the artist, they symbolize the struggle of humanity against genocide.

Some of the details of these paintings, such as three dead girls in coffins, a dead leopard, a giant soldier in a gas mask, can be shocking. Conspiracy theorists believe that these paintings depict hints of the transformation of the earth, the establishment of a world government and a new world order.

Another interesting place- the last stone of the terminal with a time capsule, laid by the Freemasons. The capsule is to be opened in 2094. The sculptures of gargoyles in the luggage compartment are also suspicious ... In general, this airport is a very interesting place.

3 House on the embankment

The house on the Embankment was first so named in the story of the same name by Yuri Trifonov. There are many legends associated with this building and the place on which it was built.

Back in the 17th century, boyar Bersen Beklemishev began to build a mansion on this site (which was called the Swamp since ancient times), but did not have time to complete it, because he was executed by order Basil III. The construction of the building was completed by the clerk Averky Kirillov, who was killed during the Streltsy rebellion and never lived in his chambers.

Gradually, the Swamp acquired a bad reputation. Here, a gang of the famous robber Vanka Cain robbed visiting merchants, and executions of state criminals were often arranged here.

In 1927, the construction of the "house of the future" for the party elite began here. The total area of the house was about 400,000 m2. The ten-story building consisted of 505 apartments and many infrastructure facilities. There was a barbershop, laundry, shop, kindergarten, telegraph, post office, gym.

The first residents of the famous house were Beria, marshals Zhukov and Tukhachevsky, Stalin's children. The resettlement was carried out according to special government lists.

Interestingly, the House on the Embankment does not have the 11th entrance. In 1930, when the object was under construction, there was a strong fire. The developer was afraid to disrupt the deadlines for putting the facility into operation. It was decided to abandon the 11th entrance and distribute usable area between entrances 10 and 12.

The square meters of the apartments were redistributed, but where the stairs, elevators and stairwells “gone” remained a mystery. Since then, rumors began to circulate that Lubyanka employees used the “secret corridors” to monitor the residents.

The tenants were really followed, but not in such a way that it was very secret. In the house on the first floor there were secret apartments of Chekists. They worked in the house under the guise of commandants, concierges, elevator operators, and in their apartments met with their informants or hid mysterious tenants, such as, for example, a Soviet intelligence agent in South Africa Dieter Gerhardt.

4 Ostankino Estate

Ostankino has been infamous since the 15th century, when a suicide cemetery was located here. Therefore, those who were driven out of the city were strong here: witches, sorcerers.

In Ostankino, there was also a fortress theater. It is difficult to say whether this was the influence of the place or a difficult, unfree fate, but many actresses drowned in the Ostankino ponds, which were even nicknamed “actorkins”. Now there is a residential building nearby, and on the graveyard - the building of the television center. Local residents and employees of the television center say that sometimes in these parts you can meet an ancient old woman with a stick, who appears before misfortunes and tragedies.

There are several kings (Paul I, Alexander I, Alexander II), boyars, princes on the list of those warned by the prophetess. Today, in the era of television, for some reason, the ghost comes into contact exclusively with the Ostankino security and ordinary workers of the television center.

5 TsNPO Leninets

There are many mysterious buildings in St. Petersburg. The status of the most mysterious house of the times of the USSR can be carried by house 212 on Moskovsky Prospect. Here, in the building of the Central Research and Production Association "Leninets", a secret special laboratory was allegedly located, which was directly subordinate to the NKVD. Here they were engaged in the study of genetics, work was carried out on crossing different types animals.

In early 1999, documents were made public, according to which every year in the 30-50s of the last century, about 200 prisoners were sent to the special department of the Leningrad NKVD (and then the MGB and the KGB) "to conduct a holistic analysis of the physiological and mental state and develop a methodology for correcting the identified violations."

6 Moscow State University building

The Moscow State University skyscraper is one of the decorations of the Russian capital. There are many legends associated with this building. They say that the place chosen by the architects was unsuitable for construction: the soils on Sparrow Hills are too weak for such a large building. But the architects who worked on the Moscow State University project found a solution: they dug a huge foundation, filled it with liquid nitrogen, and then put refrigeration units in what is now called the 3rd basement. That is, if something goes wrong and the freezers fail, in a week the Main Building of Moscow State University will be in the Moscow River.

There is also talk that the main building of Moscow State University is as multi-story down as it is up. There are many versions of the collective consciousness: underground city"Ramenki-2", secret Metro-2, cyclophazatron, atomic reactor and even a secret permafrost laboratory.

An interesting fact: the red stripes on the facade of the Main Building of Moscow State University create the appearance of proportionality of the building. If you remove them, it will seem almost shapeless. Since the central building, the "large" and "small" zones differ significantly in height and width.

Finally, talks about the fact that ghosts live in Moscow State University do not subside: prisoners who died during construction or former students who want to settle old scores with the university.

7 Rotunda on Gorokhovaya

Rotunda on Gorokhovaya Street in St. Petersburg is one of the most mystical and legendary places in the city. This is a round building with six columns along the perimeter, to the dome of which a cast-iron staircase leads.

The house where the rotunda is located was built in the 18th century, and after that it was rebuilt many times. The dome of the rotunda is hidden under the attic, and its only window overlooks the courtyard. Everything is arranged in such a way that it is impossible to guess what exactly is hidden behind the doors of an ordinary house.

According to the most common version, the rotunda on Gorokhovaya Street was a meeting place for Masons who received new members of the club here. In favor of that version is the fact that the house once belonged to the famous Freemason Count Andrei Zubov. The rotunda is also mysterious because Grigory Rasputin himself often visited here. His mansion was very close. Since the 80s of the last century, the rotunda has become a meeting place for rockers, punks and other informals.

8 Tretyakov Gallery

They say that paintings from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery have a special, mystical effect on people. For example, the painting “Morning of the Streltsy Execution” by Surikov caused a long, serious illness for the daughter of Pavel Tretyakov. The image of the Mother of God of Vladimir helped protect the capital from the enemy. And the positive impact on viewers of the paintings of Levitan, Nicholas Roerich can even be measured with instruments.

There is a well-known legend associated with the exposition of the Tretyakov Gallery: girls of no age should not look at the portrait of Maria Lopukhina for a long time (she died shortly after the painting was painted). She appeared thanks to secular gossips, who believed that Mary's father, Ivan Lopukhin, a famous mystic and master of the Masonic lodge, lured the daughter's spirit into this portrait.

9 Winchester House

Winchester House - one of the attractions of the United States. In 1884, the house was purchased by Sarah Winchester, widow of William Winchester, son of Oliver Winchester, inventor of the famous rifle.

At a reception at the medium, the widow learned that she was haunted by misfortunes due to the fact that her family was cursed with those who died from the Winchester (and there were many of them, given the history of the conquest of the Wild West). To avoid further problems, the woman must build a special house in which the spirits cannot harm her.

Sarah purchased a house on the west coast and invested her entire fortune in remodeling the house. The house is arranged in such a way that the spirits that haunt Sarah get confused when trying to find the widow. There are many dead-end doors that open into the walls, and stairs that rest against the ceilings. The corridors in the building are very narrow, especially since the widow was tiny and could easily move through this labyrinth. Some of the doors on the upper floors open outwards, and there are hidden windows in many of the walls. The number 13 is often found - almost all stairs have 13 steps, and in many rooms there are 13 windows.

Currently, the house has about 160 rooms, 13 bathrooms, 6 kitchens, 40 stairs. The rooms have 2,000 doors, 450 doorways, about 10,000 windows (stained glass windows have survived to this day), 47 fireplaces and one shower.

10 Leap Castle

We could not but include the castle in the list of the most mysterious buildings. Castles are generally mysterious, but this one, Leap Castle in Ireland, is considered the most mysterious and creepy.

The castle was owned by the O'Carroll family. They became famous, among other things, for often inviting their enemies to dinner at the castle under the pretext of reconciliation, and then killing them right at the table or in bed after the feast. A tradition worthy of Game of Thrones.

In the same way, dozens of mercenaries from the O'Neill and McMahon clans were killed, who had previously helped the O'Carrolls in internecine wars and received death instead of payment.

Under the dining room in the castle was a dungeon (“ubliet”), into which unsuspecting guests fell through a secret door in the corner of the hall. Its bottom was dotted with sharp stakes, on which the victims fell.

According to some reports, when the castle was restored after a fire in the 1920s, the workers found a huge amount of bones in the ubliet - it took three wagons to clean the dungeon. In total, the remains of 150 people were found. A pocket watch made in 1840 was also found among the bones, suggesting that the ubliet was used even in the 19th century.

Due to the abundance of horrors that took place in the castle, it is now inhabited by many ghosts (at least, so say the locals and psychics who visited the castle). The most terrible spirit - it is called Elemental ("natural phenomenon") or "It" - does not even have a human appearance. Eyewitnesses describe him as a bent, sheep-sized beast ready to jump. Before this spirit appears, the air is filled with the smell of decaying corpses and sulfur ... It is also said that every night a mysterious light lights up in the "bloody chapel".

Our top 10 creepiest haunted houses will tell you about the buildings that are associated with mystical stories.

10 House Fuhlingen

In 1939, the mistress of the house invited the photographer Indra Shayr and his assistant, wanting to get photographs of the interior of the estate. They set to work, but got a rather unexpected result. The photographer saw the ghost and told the assistant to take a picture of it. The assistant himself did not see anything and did not believe that the ghost would be visible in the photo. However, the photograph did indeed capture a female silhouette.

3 Monte Cristo Manor

Monte Cristo Manor was built in 1885 in Australia. Before the reconstruction of 1948, the house belonged to the Kroli family. During this time, many tragedies occurred in Monte Cristo: the death of two children and a servant, the madness of Harold. His father took care of the house, and the man himself, 40 years old, was kept in an annex, chained. When Harold was seen over the body of his mother, they sent him to an insane asylum. Soon the madman died. In 1948, the house keeper died in the annex where Harold was being held. Ghosts have been seen in the house many times. 1 Winchester House

In 1884, the widow Sarah Winchester bought a house in San Jose, USA. The medium told the woman that spirits were haunting her. The fact is that her husband's father created a rifle that killed many people. The medium explained that the souls of those killed by the Winchester rifle would haunt the widow. To escape from them, Sarah needed to build a house in which even ghosts could get lost. The widow has invested all her fortune in the ongoing construction. The layout of the house turned out to be quite confusing. At every step, “surprises” await in it: stairs resting on the ceiling; dead end doors; narrow confusing corridors; doors on the upper floors that open outwards; secret windows… In total, the mansion has 160 rooms, 13 bathrooms and 6 kitchens. They have 2,000 doors and 450 doorways, approximately 10,000 windows and 40 stairs. Spirits are believed to still haunt the Winchesters' home.

Everyone decides for himself whether or not to believe in the terrible stories that tell about the above houses.

When in the history of individual houses there are such facts as the murders committed at one time or the habitation of some out of the ordinary people in them, then the chance of becoming the abode of ghosts is much higher in the second case. However, these houses have something inherently attractive, whether it's eccentric architecture or haunted, and entering such a creepy building, you can not move away from your natural curiosity for the unknown. So, the most scary houses.

Robinson Rose House, San Diego, California (the scariest house)

This building was built in the middle of the 19th century, and then, by the end of the 20th century, the building was reconstructed while maintaining all the features of the original architectural style. There is a possibility that the house returned to our world the souls of those people who were closely associated with it during life. Built by Judge James Robinson, the building was heavily used in those days for confidential and collective business negotiations that have a significant impact on the development of the area. Today, this activity is reflected in various forms of paranormal activity. This house has repeatedly met the appearance of ghosts in an authentic XIX century clothes in the form of a strange fog, taking on the outlines of human figures. People here often hear footsteps, and women also feel something pulling or playing with their hair. The ghosts in the house are amazing in their ability to interact with electricity - the lights often turn on and off by themselves, and the elevator tends to move from one floor to another without the occupants being seen by the eye.

The house in Villisca where the massacre with an ax took place (the story of the scary house "Villisca Ax Murder House"). Villisk, Iowa.

On the night of June 9, 1912, eight people were killed in their own house, of which six were children, by an unknown person with an ax. This is how one of the most creepy and at the same time true stories about the haunted house appeared. The murders, unsurprisingly, became a national sensation, with many suspects interrogated and some even convicted and acquitted. Thus, the crime remains unsolved to this day. Perhaps because of these painful deaths or the lack of proper punishment for offenders (maybe both reasons at once), but subsequently the house became famous due to numerous signs of paranormal activity. In the building, one can often see visions, hear the steps and voices of incorporeal entities. Evidence of the presence of the ghosts of murdered children in the house is especially widespread; with the help of specially tuned electronics, eyewitnesses repeatedly recorded laughter or crying, in the latter case, some of them tell others to hide. All this allows this building to be on many lists of the most famous haunted houses.

2

William Kehoe House, Savannah, Georgia.

Once this house belonged to William Kehoe and his family, then since 1892 the building managed to visit a school and a funeral hall. Today, the building houses a hotel. The current situation in the building suggests that the Kehoe family most likely returned to their residence many years after their death. They go about their usual business, often trying to interact with guests and hotel staff. Mrs. Kehoe is often seen sitting at her desk writing a letter, or perched on the beds of sleeping guests. Mr. Kehoe was observed throughout the house and one of the cases is associated with the simultaneous opening of all the locks on the outer doors of the first floor ... Kehoe's young twin boys, who died as children in an accident, were also seen wandering around the building. Their noisy footsteps can sometimes be heard as if they were running along the top floor of the building.

Pirate House, Savannah, Georgia. Ghosts of a scary house

This building, known as Savannah's oldest building, was built in 1753 and it was then that it began to be used as a private residence. Later in the same century, the building became a tavern and hotel, which it remained for many decades. Today, the house houses a restaurant, and the premises on the second floor, where the hotel used to sleep, are used as a warehouse. During the existence of the tavern and inn, this place was very famous among sailors and other desperate people. Undoubtedly, many crimes were committed here related to the recruitment of sailors to the ship in a state of intoxication. Recruiters soldered or drugged men, after which they secretly, with the help of special passages, took them to ships, where nothing prevented them from exploiting their victims. And today, many ghosts from this time period still become frequent guests of the former inn. Eyewitnesses often observed visions and images on the second floor, and also heard laughter. Signs of paranormal activity were also frequently seen on the ground floor and basement, such as moving benches and chairs in the dining room, people reporting sudden and unreasonable chills and nausea.

4

Scary House House of Seven Gables, Salem, Massachusetts.

The House of Seven Gables, immortalized in his novel of the same name by author Nathaniel Hawthorne, is one of the most famous and historically authentic haunted houses in New England. The building was built in 1667, but over the years it has gradually evolved through the addition or demolition of extensions, periodically carried out repairs. All this was observed exactly until, finally, after the reconstruction, the house was returned to its original luxury and grandeur. Now this building is used as a museum, and its employees and visitors often report on supernatural phenomena. Electricity and water supply seem to live their own own life, lights and water taps turn on and off without outside interference. Eyewitnesses also observed mysterious shadows and visions here, including a woman who is sure that she is the owner of the house, and a little boy playing in the attic.

Lizzy Borden House, Fall River, Massachusetts (one of the scariest haunted houses).

Without a doubt, this is the most terrible house in Massachusetts, with which sadly is directly connected. famous story ax murders of Lizzie Borden's parents. The woman herself was the main suspect in this crime. There was so much evidence against her that she was quickly charged with murder and sent to court, but she was acquitted. No other person could be linked to this crime, which is why it remains the most famous unsolved murder in the history of the American nation.
Ironically, Borden spent the rest of her days in Fall River, settling near the crime scene. Believe me, her desire to stay in this place was so strong that it does not allow this woman to leave there even after death. Her ghost was often seen throughout the house, and her laugh was heard on the second floor near the stairs. Her father and stepmother are also in the house, as is their former maid, who never stops asking for help.

Ann Starrett's spooky mansion, Port Townsend, Washington.

Built in 1899 by George Starrett for his new wife, Ann, this Victorian mansion is like an immortal monument to love. The couple lived happily in the mansion until the end of their days, after their death, the house was still the property of the family for some time, but today it can be rented. The building is plagued by a large number of paranormal phenomena, some of which are associated with George and Ann. However, most of them are called by a nanny who was once hired to take care of Edward, the couple's only son. George and Ann can both be seen in any part of the house, but the nanny is sometimes not only observed, but also felt. Usually she is courteous, but some people can be attacked. She is widely known for photographs of herself falling off the wall, turning the pages of a book. In addition, she leaves behind places that are extremely cold.
It is noteworthy that in the house the light turns off on its own in empty rooms. There is also a case when one of the guests of the mansion was hit on the head for an insulting remark.

Sauer Castle, Kansas City, Kansas (the tragic story of one of the real and scary haunted houses).

This house was built in 1871 by Anton Sauer, a native of Austria. This beautiful, but now abandoned, Italian-style mansion was the residence of the Sauer family for several generations, during which a number of tragedies occurred in the house, which caused serious damage to the family. Two people committed suicide here, and the third, a little girl, drowned in the pool of the estate. The first owner of the building, Anton, also died here. With so many deaths, most of which cannot be called peaceful, the house has become a hotspot for paranormal activity. Disembodied voices have been heard many times in the mansion, including laughter, screams and crying, doors opening or swinging open on their own. People have repeatedly noted that they experience a feeling of being watched. Also in the house, such cases as independent movements of objects, loud knocks and roar were recorded.

Service staff and visitors to the house claimed that he lives in the mansion. Several invited psychics (in different time) stated that not one, but three ghosts "live" in the house.

The story goes that once Sarah Winchester felt like she was being haunted by something mysterious, she went to a psychic who told her that her life was influenced by the spirits of people who died from Winchester rifles, in order to protect themselves from persecution, you need to build "rooms" for ghosts in a mansion. Mrs. Winchester heeded the call of the medium and from 1884 began a constant expansion of the house.

Construction has not stopped for many decades, the mansion has more than 150 rooms, 3 dance halls, 50 bedrooms, more than 10 thousand windows. Employees and tourists who have visited the house in our time, talk about a strange frightening feeling when entering the building, people try to stay here in groups so as not to be left alone with the unknown.

This mysterious house is located on the outskirts of New York, in the Long Island area. In the 70s, the Lutz family moved into the building, however, after not even living here for a month, the new owners moved out in horror. It turned out that a year before Lutz moved in, a terrible massacre took place in the house - the previous owner, R. Defeo, shot all the members of his family. The Lutz family claimed that an evil spirit lives in the house, which negatively affects people.

This house has survived to this day, no one lives in it, the builders do not risk making major repairs in the house, fearing an ominous spirit, only the windows have been replaced. On the history of this was filmed Feature Film"The Amityville Horror".

This ancient mansion was built in the 18th century, it belonged to the slave owner - Mr. Mirt. Nowadays it is a cozy hotel in Louisiana. The idyll is broken by periodic reports of strange murders within the walls of the former estate, which cannot be solved.

The story says that the first owner of the house had a mistress - a slave Chloe, she poisoned objectionable residents of the house, whether she did it on the orders of the owner is unknown. Psychics claim that the Myrtle house is haunted by many ghosts, including the spirit of Chloe. Hotel guests have repeatedly recorded all sorts of oddities in their rooms.

Another of the scariest houses in the world is the Belmez mansion in Spain. Ghosts, in the usual sense, are not here, but there is another mysterious phenomenon. Silhouettes of human faces periodically appear on the floors of the house, which then disappear. The floors of the building were even studied by a group of scientists, but they did not draw any intelligible conclusions.

One part of the researchers believes that the interaction is to blame chemical elements floor and dampness, as a result of which there are contours on the floor, similar to human faces. Another group believes that this is a "projection" of the subconscious of the visitors of the mansion, the house can somehow "burn out" images on the floors.

Visitors to the Belmez home continue to spot mysterious faces on the floor, and even take photographs.

The castle in the capital of Scotland - Edinburgh, is a medieval building in which people lived until the seventeenth century. This place has seen many battles, and where there have been battles, there are many ghosts. In the early 2000s, thorough Scientific research, but scientists have not been able to give a clear explanation for the mysterious phenomena that occur in the castle. Caretakers and visitors to the Scottish often talk about frightening silhouettes that sometimes appear in the dark corridors of the structure.

There are scary haunted houses in China. In one of the districts of Beijing, there is building number 81, a large 3-story baroque building. However, wealthy Chinese are in no hurry to acquire it. The point is that during civil war the imperial official and his wife lived here, during the coming of the communist troops to the city, the wife of the official committed suicide, it is believed that her spirit still lives in the building. Because of this story, house 81 has not been able to find its new owners for many years, no one wants to "neighbor" with a ghost.

Hotel Berengaria

This large building was erected in the 30s of the 20th century. The hotel was designed for wealthy guests and in the early years brought a good profit. Before his death, the founder of the hotel bequeathed to his three sons to run the business together and jointly, sharing the profits equally. At first it was like that, but gradually the brothers began to quarrel more and more often over money.

History is silent under what circumstances, but three brothers died one after another, there was no one to continue doing business, the back ones fell into disrepair, and everything valuable became the prey of local thieves, it was they who said that they repeatedly observed three brothers in the former hotel.

Salesian school

Initially, it was the estate of one of the aristocratic families of the United States, then the building became Catholic educational institution for boys. Until 1964, this place was not shrouded in a veil of mystery, this year one of the pupils of the school died, he fell from the roof, the investigators considered this case an accident. However, a re-investigation showed that the boy was too far from the building, he simply could not fall like that, and talk of murder began. People who keep an eye on the building say they sometimes see the boy in the old windows of the former school.

I made a list of mystical houses where it is better not to take a selfie - unless, of course, you want to see a ghostly stranger in the background.

Elsa's house, Pyatigorsk

The once luxurious, but deserted, three-story, 62-room mansion has earned its dark fame thanks to the ghost of a young girl living in it. This house at the beginning of the 20th century was built by confectioner Alexander Gukasov for his beautiful bride Elsa. The happiness of the spouses was short-lived - the girl was never able to get pregnant, and a few years later her husband left her alone in the castle, leaving with another woman. After the betrayal, Elsa could not cope with her grief and suddenly disappeared in the 40s. The true circumstances of the death of the mistress of the mansion are not known, but according to one version, she began to go crazy and eventually poisoned herself with a deadly poison. According to another, she was killed, and her body was walled up in the walls of the mansion.

Since then the house has grown mystical legends. Those who dared to go inside talk about children's crying coming from distant rooms, the sound of footsteps, groans. A strange white haze or incomprehensible shadows often appear in the frame in the pictures. And on one of the balconies there is a poem written, which, according to rumors, Elsa herself whispered to one of her guests:

Popular

Find me voiceless

Wash me with rain

Find me fading

Bring back my old house.

The basement is considered the darkest place in the house - there a curious visitor can find a strange tiled parallelepiped. Maybe it is in it that the body of the mistress of the mansion rests.

Glinka's estate, Moscow region

An old house in the Shchelkovsky district of the Moscow region literally attracts tourists with its legends. They are connected with the former owner of the estate, Yakov Broyus, who was fond of science, but people's rumor dubbed him a warlock magician. Frightened peasants whispered about how he froze the ponds in the midst of summer, and then launched iron birds into the sky.

After his death, the new owners were clearly uncomfortable in the house. For some reason, they very subtly got rid of the elegant antique statues that used to decorate the territory of the estate: they were destroyed, some were walled up in the walls, and some were even sunk to the bottom of the pond. At night, creaks and groans were heard in the corridors, which forced the frightened owner and hostess to move to the farthest rooms of the mansion.

Today, the residence looks no different from other estates of the 18th century, but several special skeletons are kept in its cabinets. They say that the house has a network of secret underground passages, through which the former owner entered his "secret rooms": an astronomical observatory, a repository of archaeological finds, a laboratory and a scientific library. At the end of the 20th century, enthusiasts conducted dowsing, which showed that there really were hollow chambers under the foundation, many of which remained undiscovered. According to legend, the Black Book and the chest with Bruce's gold are stored in them, which will "open" only to his blood relative. In addition, many notice that the demonic masks that adorn the façade of the manor grimace and wink at anyone who looks at them for a long time.

Palace of Oldenburg, Ramon village, Voronezh region

There are many rumors about the ghosts and evil spirits that are found in the Palace of Oldenburg in the Voronezh region. According to local beliefs, many years ago, a talented healer fell in love with the mistress of these properties. But the young princess Eugenia did not share the feelings of the doctor, for which she was cursed along with the mansion.

Since then, strange things began to happen in the estate. The husband of the Princess of Oldenburg became interested in the occult and began to invite mystics to esoteric seances, and the son of the couple allegedly performed experiments on people in the basements of the house. It is believed that even the princess herself kept prisoners and a chained bear in the dungeon, to which she gave unwanted servants to be torn to pieces. The workers who restored the castle in the 80s of the XX century constantly complained about creaks and groans coming from the basement.

Another mysterious event happened in Ramon just recently. Museum staff found that the plaster had collapsed in the basement, and a silhouette began to emerge from the broken part formed on the wall, in which visitors can recognize the mistress of the mansion. By the way, if all your life you have dreamed of spending the night in a haunted house, then this is your chance - the Palace of Oldenburg willingly accepts tourists.
