Why should we conserve fresh water? Family environmental project “Why water should be saved. Introduction to the topic

What is water? It's a trickle from the faucet
These are waves and a storm on the seas-oceans.
In a misted bottle, a drink in my hand,
And in the key, and in the well, and in the stream.

Yes, there are different types of water.
It is in liquid and solid. Even in gaseous
We don't see it or notice it.
But when it's gone, it's hard to feel

Memo "Save water!"

1 . Do not let water tapsleft unnecessarily open.

2. Do not turn on the water at full jet.

3 Turn off the water when brushing your teeth. This will save about 900 liters permonth.

4. Taking a shower takes 10-20 timesless water than for taking a bath.

5. Install an economical shower head. You can save up to 50% if you install a more economical diffuser with a smaller hole size instead of a conventional diffuser.

6. Use the dishwasher and washing machine only when fully loaded.

7. Fix leaky faucets and pipesleaking water in toilets.

Save water!

Water is what gives life to all of us.
What gives us strength and vigor.
Crystal clear or very dirty.
It is useful in any condition.

Where there is mud, frogs live there.
For them, only in the swamp is peace and comfort.
For us, the water must be clean,
What would we not be afraid to wash and drink.

No less useful, however, water
Which is in the form of frozen ice.
It cools, freezes, invigorates.
And in the heat it gives us coolness and joy.

Let's all save water.
Protect everything from unreasonable spending.
Otherwise, the water may run out,
And then the life on the planet will die down.

Interesting Facts :

Water covers 70 percent of the Earth, but only 3% of it is clean and suitable for consumption.

The average family of four uses 450 liters of water per day, which is 164,000 liters per year.

If a family saves at least 20% of tap water from the volume that it uses, then in a year this amount can form a lake with a diameter of 200 meters and a depth of 2 meters.

A faulty faucet can "drip" from 30 to 300 liters of water per day.

More water flows out of a fully open faucet than you think: every minute - 15 liters. Washing dirty dishes under a strong jet takes, on average, over 100 liters. When washing a car with a hose - more than 300 liters.

Symbol of life on earth - WATER!

Save it and take care!

We are not alone on the planet!

One hot summer day, my friends and I were playing catch-up. At some point, I was unbearably thirsty. The thirst was such that I forgot about an interesting game, and about everything in the world. Only knocked in my head: Drink! Drink! Drink!!! While I was skipping up to the fourth floor, it seemed to me that everything inside me had dried up ... My head was very dizzy. At home, I drank two glasses of water, washed my face. She revived immediately. And then I looked for a long time at a thin stream of water pouring from the tap, and I had a few questions:

‒ what is this amazing substance that can bring the body back to life?

- Where does water come from?

‒ what should be done so that the water never runs out?

These questions interested me very much, and after consulting with the teacher, I decided to research work Is it necessary to conserve water?

“Earth is a planet of amazing blueness!”, so they say, returning from distant space, all astronauts.

Relevance: People need water every day, so it is very important to use it rationally and carefully, since its reserves on Earth are not so limitless.

Research problem: find ways to conserve water and conserve water resources clean.

Thus, we definepurpose of the study:

- to clarify and expand knowledge about water and its significance for living beings; To achieve - the purpose of the study, it will be necessary to solve the following tasks:

‒ analyze scientific information on this topic;

- to develop conditions for a careful and economical attitude to water;

- conduct research on the quality of drinking water;

‒ create a memo on careful attitude to water at home.

Research hypothesis: I can assume that if each person tries to treat water carefully and economically, then we will be able to save the water resources of our planet. Object of study: fresh water; Subject of study: water is the most valuable treasure of our planet;

Water - the only substance in the world that can be in three states: liquid, solid and gaseous. This alone makes her unusual and amazing. In addition, it turns out that water has unique properties: it perceives information, remembers it, and reacts to words, thoughts, and music.

I was wondering how water gets into our house?

Before getting to the taps of our bathtubs and washbasins, the water passes through the pipe. The dam holds the water stored in the reservoir, a place where water is collected for the entire city. This water is collected either from a well or from a river.

Water flows from the reservoir through a large pipe to the pumping station. In the pumping station, it undergoes a purification process. Indeed, in its original form, water is not suitable for consumption, which is why it needs to be cleaned in the tanks of the pumping station. At the beginning, water passes through special grates that clean it from large debris, then it enters the sump. In the sump, at the bottom of the tank, foreign impurities in the water settle. In the next tank, the water goes through a chemical process to kill the microbes in it.

In the basement, water is distributed through pipes with a diameter of 20 mm to the entrances and apartments. Our apartment has a water meter. Water, getting into the apartment, first of all passes through it to read the amount of water used. From the meter, water passes through the pipe through a coarse filter, a fine filter, where it is cleaned, and enters the apartment.

Sometimes, when there is a weak pressure, muddy water flows from the taps, with some impurities. Perhaps this is because our house is old and the pipes are the same, respectively. Water, passing through them, captures rust and carries it to the taps.

Drinking such water for drinking is dangerous, so it needs to be further purified.

I did one study: how you can purify water at home. I took two vessels, a funnel and a filter. She poured muddy tap water into one vessel and slowly began to pour water through a funnel with a filter into another vessel. And I saw that the water, passing through the paper filter, becomes clean. And on the filter there were grains of rust and dregs. After doing a little research, I did conclusion: the water needs to be purified, so our family uses the Barrier filter. We also buy ready-made purified water for drinking in 19-liter bottles, which are sold in stores. Sometimes we bring water from a spring. This water is especially tasty and crystal clear.

From the Internet, I learned that the planets revolving around the Sun have their own colors. Venus is white, Mars is reddish, Saturn is bluish. And our Earth in pictures from space looks blue. This is the color of its oceans and seas, which means the color of water.

Water on Earth is both abundant and scarce at the same time. Ocean and sea water is undrinkable because it is salty. A person needs fresh water, which is not so much in nature. For every 100 liters, there are only 3 liters of fresh water.

Man is constantly spending fresh water and needs to be replenished.

Water is used:

- in the kitchen: for cooking, washing dishes;

- in the bathroom: for washing clothes, taking a bath, shower, washing and brushing your teeth;

- in the toilet: for the operation of the toilet bowl.

Also, water is needed for watering plants, for filling an aquarium, for caring for pets, for washing floors, shoes, dusting and much more. But this is water consumption only in one family. And if you imagine how much water is required for the needs of our city, region, country? Humanity? Do we think about it when we turn on the faucet?

There are places on the planet where there is already not enough drinking water, and it is brought in tanks or served in houses strictly according to the schedule.

Water needs to be saved, also because you have to pay money for it. In order to save money, a meter is installed in the apartment, by which you can control the water consumption at any time. We have such a counter.

Conclusion

A person can live without food for up to a month, and without water for no more than three days. “Water is more precious than gold,” said the Bedouins, who roamed the sands all their lives. They knew that no riches would save a traveler in the desert if there was no water. The sands of the Sahara swallowed up many people. In the desert, a person can withstand about a day. The value of fresh water in human life is very high.

conclusions : As a result of the study, my assumption was fully confirmed: if a person tries to treat water carefully and economically, he will be able to save not only water supplies, but also the water resources of our planet, as well as the family budget.

In conclusion, I would like to say that let's learn to love water and save it. Water is the most valuable treasure of our planet.

The goals and objectives of the study have been fulfilled.

“Water must be conserved,” parents and teachers say, at home and at school. This is written in books and printed in newspapers. And this teaching looks very strange. Why take care of it, if there is so much of it around?

At home, he turned off the taps - it flows, with good pressure, a wide stream. You want it - cold, you want - hot. Cook food, bathe, wash as much as you like. He got dirty on the street playing football - a column nearby. He pressed the lever - water flows like a river, wash yourself, splash as much as you like. And over there in the city and outside the city - how many lakes, rivers, ponds. And the sea! If you go to the sea in the summer, you generally cease to understand why you should save it like that, this water, if its huge volumes, wherever you look.

Now let's be more specific. Each person drinks about one and a half to two liters of water daily. Yes, plus soup, and even tea, coffee, all sorts of compotes. It's only inside. Hundreds of liters a day are spent on washing, bathing, and other needs of each of the tenants of an apartment building. And in the village to give water to the cows and sheep, and to water the garden every evening in hot weather. Water also moves the blades of electric turbines, generating energy for us, it also carries huge ships on its waves. And how much water is used in any production! For cooling, moisturizing, washing. Tons, tens of tons, hundreds of thousands of tons daily.

Now let's look at our planet. No, not to the Universe - it is just infinite. What about the planet Earth? It has northern and southern extreme points, western and eastern. That is, it is limited in size, whatever one may say. And, consequently, its Natural resources. Imagine for a moment: the water can run out! Simultaneously, all over the planet. That is to say, absolutely. You don’t go to your neighbors to fill the kettle with water, you don’t wash yourself at the pump, and the water will neither be given to you nor sold for any wealth in the world. Represented? And How? Not really, right? Well, you can shower and wait. How about making soup? And it's simple - to take a sip of fresh clean water, having come from a workout or returning home from a hot street. And meanwhile, within one day, that is, twenty-four hours, humanity uses - think about it for a minute - seven billion tons of water! It’s even scary to imagine such a quantity, not to mention saying goodbye to it forever.

But what can I say - on our planet already and now there are settlements, countries and even entire parts of the continents where people suffer from lack of water. And be sure: there they don’t spend it so thoughtlessly, cherish every drop and very accurately calculate how much and when they will spend it. Here, in order not to soon have to count every drop of water for all mankind on Earth, it is extremely necessary to save water. Close the taps as soon as you stop using water, use it sparingly for any needs. And, of course, try not to litter any of the reservoirs, whether it be a river, a lake or a pond - each of us will once have to drink from the same.

In this material you will find ten simple rules, the implementation of which will allow you to reduce water consumption in your household and make a feasible contribution to the conservation of the planet's water resources.

Unfortunately, our civilization causes irreparable damage to the ecosystem of our planet every day. Every day, rains and drains carry tons of human waste into the water resources of our planet - these are fertilizers from the fields, and fuel processing products from highways, and the remains of building materials, and food waste, and biological waste. All this ends up in the same reservoirs from which we take drinking water, where our children bathe and where we fish. The careless use of certain substances can even lead to contamination of groundwater. Therefore, it is necessary to follow some rules, they are few, but they are extremely important.

Save water in your backyard

1. Use of waterproof coatings significantly reduce water loss from your site. Asphalt and concrete surfaces for paths and parking can be replaced with stone or gravel masonry, special lawn grates and wooden decks. A variety of plantings and lawn coverings will also be a nice addition and help conserve water. Planting vegetation below the level of hard surfaces will allow water flows to soak the soil under these plants, this will save on irrigation.

2. Landscaping of territories by local representatives of flora will help save water resources, as these plants are most adapted to the natural climatic conditions of the region and do not need special care. The use of natural fertilizers, such as compost, peat, bone meal, stimulates plant growth, preserves moisture in the soil and does not negative impact on environment generally. What's more, using food waste as "food" for the soil is a great way to dispose of this waste.

3. Do not overmoisten the soil. Abundant moistening of steep slopes and narrow strips of soil is ineffective. Therefore, reducing the amount of moisture intended for such landscapes will prevent water from flowing onto roads and sidewalks, saving it for more important purposes. For dense soils with low peat content, drip irrigation and micro-sprinkling systems are appropriate types of moisture. Waterlogging of lawns also entails washing out of the fertile soil layer. Watering your plantings before dawn or after sunset will help minimize evaporative moisture loss.

Save water in your home

4. Save water! Everywhere they talk about it, but it doesn’t hurt to remind you - BE CAREFUL WITH WATER. Sensor mixers are very convenient (but not very cheap). Use a different intensity of flushing water in the toilet, depending on the needs. The work of washing machines and dishwashers instead of "manual" labor also reduces water consumption.

5. "Correctly" store and dispose of household and chemical substances. In every dwelling there are such "gifts" of the chemical industry as solvents, paints, synthetic oils, glue, Construction Materials. Many of them contain harmful ammonia, formaldehyde, phenol, petroleum distillates. They are best kept away from sinks, toilets, and downpipes, thus keeping water from becoming contaminated. But such hazardous substances can end up in nearby water bodies. Improper disposal medicines and personal hygiene items carries the risk of water poisoning with pharmaceutical waste. And then we drink this water. In developed countries, the issue of waste disposal is regulated at the state level. Programs for the return of unwanted products to the manufacturing plant turned out to be very effective. At the enterprise, the resulting waste is disposed of responsibly and without harm to the environment.

6. Use organic household products. By purchasing household cleaners that are "friendly" to the environment and water in particular, you not only save nature for future generations, but also prevent the harmful effects of chemicals on your health.

your car

7. Disposal of used engine oil. Never drain used oil into sewers or simply pour it on the ground! One liter of engine oil can "spoil" about 950,000 liters of drinking water! The ideal way to "get rid" of this unnecessary substance and save water is to transfer the "working off" to specialized centers. And so that the working fluids of the car do not spontaneously flow out, it is worth taking care of its timely maintenance.

8. Cultivating "green" car wash principles. Oddly enough, professional car washes are less harmful to the environment than a manual car wash with a bucket, a rag and a questionable detergent. Of course, only on condition that the drain system of "professionals" is organized correctly. This means that the used water circulates in a closed cycle: after passing through the filters and being cleaned, it returns to the washing system again. Otherwise, water enters immediately into sewer systems or spreads over the surface of the earth. The second advantage of professional car washes, in contrast to home “bathing”, is the ability to save half the water, because it will have to be spent half as much! Innovative technologies offer to completely abandon the "source of life", using a waterless sink.

in your society

9. "Pollutants": find and neutralize. Of course, nothing happens in this life. Therefore, to preserve water and other natural gifts, it is not enough to adhere to the rules of "etiquette" in relation to the environment. It is necessary to promote and popularize the correct handling of water among your acquaintances and friends. By uniting with like-minded people, within the framework of the current legislation, it is possible, for example, to control potentially hazardous industries for their compliance with the rules of environmental safety.

10. Be socially active. Forewarned is forearmed. It will be extremely useful to learn about ways to protect water resources, current investment programs, fees that pay for the use of water. Beaches and water areas can be cleaned of debris, plants can be planted, and samples can be taken to determine the quality of water in local reservoirs. In a word - to protect the water.

Using even one of the above recommendations, you can bring significant benefits to yourself and society. There is hardly a single representative of the world of fauna or flora that pollutes the environment. Mankind, unlike animals and plants, is endowed with outstanding intellectual abilities. However, we sometimes behave "inadequately" in relation to Mother Nature. But, as they say, "everything ingenious is simple"! Let's just ingeniously SAVE WATER!

For those who are particularly interested in this topic, we have prepared another material in which this topic was expanded more widely and focused only on the household. You can get acquainted with it by clicking on the link - "Save water, or how to save water in the household."

What will happen when the water disappears completely? What can we do to keep it? When my younger sister asked me these questions, it was not difficult for me to answer, but, delving deeper into this topic, I realized that we really do not know what we are doing.

Water is our life

Without water, we will not be able to hold out for even a week, because it leads the body to dehydration, it gives us energy and strength, but most importantly, to preserve the source of life. IN Lately the situation with the environment is getting worse, and we must pull our heads and do everything to at least not worsen the situation. Various wastes are poured into the water every day, garbage is thrown into it, and it is thoughtlessly spent. And no one thinks about what it can lead to.

Solution

In many countries there is already a shortage of drinking water. Russia the only country, which has not yet switched to groundwater, but it may happen soon. Consider the main problems to avoid:

If we start taking care of nature, our life will become better. After all, 80% of diseases are due to polluted water.

The origin of water

Where did the water come from? This question worries many, but no one gives an unambiguous answer to it, as well as to the question of the appearance of our planet. But there are different versions. For example, someone says that water was once a liquid meteorite that later melted, someone is a supporter of the opposite version: the earth was a fireball that cooled down, and clouds appeared, and then there was a global flood. But these are just guesses, no matter where it comes from, our task is to protect it.

conclusions

Everything that depends ordinary people- This is water saving and protection against its pollution. If you see garbage in your city's pond, then correct someone else's mistake and throw it in the trash can. Protecting nature is our job. If people consume without giving anything in return, then we will simply perish...
