On April 24, 2018, the solemn closing ceremony of the X All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" took place in Moscow.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the Olympiad, which included three rounds, was attended by about 300 thousand schoolchildren from more than 10 thousand schools in 80 Russian regions, as well as children from Belarus, Lithuania, Kazakhstan and embassy schools in Italy, Guinea, Bangladesh, Luxembourg .

The day before, on April 23, the superfinal of the Olympiad was held in the main building of PSTGU, which brought together the winners and prize-winners of the regional rounds of the Olympiad - 190 students in grades 4-11 from 33 subjects of the Russian Federation. The students completed a set of tasks. This year it was made up of an essay on the theme ""Joy to a man is his charity" (Prov. 19:22)", an educational quest "Connoisseurs of Orthodox culture" and a project and research work dedicated to the new martyrs.

For 90 teachers who accompanied the students, organized practical seminar on the basics of training basic tasks All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren of the military-industrial complex. The event was held by the Chairman of the Central Methodological Commission of the Olympiad, Deputy Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty of PSTGU for scientific work Antonina Ageeva. According to Elena Marinina, Deputy Head of the Department of Education of the Perm Diocese, such an Olympiad form is more easily perceived by teachers in secular schools. “It is close and familiar to them, so they respond to this form. And it turns out that the one who joined this movement does not get out of it anywhere. They participate year after year and attract each other,” she stressed.

“Olympiad is very important for us, because Perm region is a special region. It has always been difficult for us to teach the Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture for various reasons, including historical ones, - said E.
