University websites

Information about the authenticity of the diploma can also be found on the official website of the educational institution. Prestigious institutes and universities create closed local databases of their graduates. But this method only works for documents issued since 2017 for a limited number of universities. To detect a fake, the diploma must have a special QR code that can be read using a smartphone.

If he wants to check through the site, you should dissuade him: this check will not work. You can also make a request to Rosobrnadzor yourself and attach the answer to the diploma in advance before an interview or applying for a job.

This applies to employers. A personnel officer, accountant or director can verify the authenticity of the diploma of any candidate or already working employee. If the vacancy is responsible or there are doubts about qualifications, it is better to make a request and find out if the person really studied at this university and successfully graduated from it.

Collection of data on diplomas issued by universities and colleges, on awarding scientific titles and degrees, and even about issuing certificates of the Unified State Examination, Rosobrnadzor began in 2012. The result of active work was an extensive information base - FRDO (Federal Register of Documents on Education, Qualification and Training), which at first included information about two million state-recognized diplomas of higher vocational education that were issued to university graduates during 2010-2011.
