The DPA (also known as the State Final Assessment) is a final test for students who have completed their elementary school education. As part of this test, all Ukrainian fourth-graders will have to take their first exam in their lives. DPA will reveal the level of knowledge they have acquired and will be a guarantee of transition to secondary school.

Not so given, information was leaked to the media that the DPA will be replaced by, that is, it will not be surrendered within the framework of home school but at the national level. It is only natural that such rumors created excitement among the students and their parents. Let's figure out together how the examination will take place in 2018, and also find out what subjects will be submitted for certification.

Will DPA be replaced by ZNO?

Not so long ago, information appeared in the press and on the pages of the Internet media that since September 2018, students in grades 4 and 9 Ukrainian schools will take mandatory exams in the form of ZNO. The innovation was explained by the transition to new concept school education, according to which study from grades 1 to 4 is considered the first educational cycle, from grades 5 to 9 - the second, and education in high school (the period from grades 10 to 12) - the third.

Wherein high school will provide students with specialized education on the basis of gymnasiums, academic lyceums and vocational colleges. The transition to a new educational level will be preceded by a state examination in the form of an independent external testing of knowledge. ZNO is a door that will open students to prestigious institutions for further study.

We hasten to reassure worried parents: in September 2017, official information appeared that in the 2018 academic year, no all-Ukrainian testing in the ZNO format for students in grades 4 and 9 would be carried out. However, the Ministry of Education, with the help of the Knowledge Assessment Center, can organize a pilot test, which will involve about 6,000 students. Therefore, while you can prepare for the usual DPA.

Tickets can be developed according to one of two possible schemes. The first scheme provides for a dictation or text for rewriting, in which some spellings are omitted. The work is structured so that the student can show their skills in spelling, speech skills, Creative skills and the ability to coherently express thoughts, so it will include additional tasks aimed at identifying and evaluating all of the above.

The teacher notes the progress of each student, and then gives them time to read to the end so that they can work with assignments based on the fragment. The maximum points that can be obtained for all tasks is 12.

DPA in mathematics

In this case, subject teachers are also given a choice of two possible forms of assessment work. The first form looks like this:
