The Technological and Pedagogical College has been leading its history since 1932, with the formation of the Ostyako-Vogulsky National District. The elimination of illiteracy among the native peoples of the Ural North was one of the main tasks. Back then, the Ostyako-Vogulsky Pedagogical College became the first secondary specialized educational institution for training personnel for national schools districts.

On the basis of the college, thanks to the victory in the competition for a grant, the project "Ethno-educational center "Yuva" is being implemented. Its goal is to unite students of different specialties to promote and inculcate the culture of the small indigenous peoples of Yugra to the younger generation.
Classes are held both in the premises of the college, specially prepared for classes with children, and directly in kindergartens and schools in the city.

“Two years ago, we organized a group of wheelchair users who wanted to get rights. At the college library there is a literary and poetry club "Friday", named after the hero of the novel by Daniel Defoe.

Over 75 years of existence, about 13,000 specialists have been trained in more than 20 professions and specialties (“Management”, “Commerce”, “Jurisprudence”, “ Hotel service”, “Marketing”, etc.).
The Khanty-Mansiysk vocational school No. 1 was founded in 1942 as a factory training school No. 16 (FZO School No. 16). Over 65 years of existence, about 22,000 specialists have been trained in more than 50 professions.
Today, the Khanty-Mansiysk Technological and Pedagogical College is a multilevel, multidisciplinary educational institution of secondary vocational education. In 2012 he will turn 80 years old. The educational complex of the college includes three educational buildings, specialized laboratories and production workshops, libraries, assembly and sports halls, dormitories, a student cafe, health centers, and an educational service station.
Since 2010, more than two thousand people have been consumers of the educational services of the college. full-time training and more than eight hundred people by correspondence. Every year, the college graduates more than 500 specialists, whose education is provided by a team of teachers and masters of industrial training in the amount of about 200 people. The college is proud of its students, they annually receive educational grants from the Governor of the Autonomous Okrug, become winners in the competition " Best Student primary and secondary professional institution districts” and receive nominal scholarships from the governor.
