I feel entitled to say: long live self-education in all areas!.. Only that knowledge is durable and valuable, which you have acquired yourself, prompted by your own passion. All knowledge must be a discovery that you have made yourself...

1. Self-education as one of the ways to improve the professional skills of teachers.

Quality preschool education is determined by many factors, one of which is the continuous improvement of the level of theoretical training and professional skills of teachers. An important role is played by the systematic, independent familiarization of educators and other PEI specialists with the latest achievements of pedagogy, with the best practices of other educational institutions, as well as the study of program and methodological materials and legal documents. How do you understand what self-education is?

Various sources give the following definitions:

self-education- This purposeful cognitive activity, controlled by the personality itself for the acquisition of systemic knowledge in any field of science, culture, etc. Ozhigov gives the following definition:self-educationis the acquisition of knowledge through self-study without the help of a teacher.

self-education- This purposeful work teacherto expand and deepen their theoretical knowledge, improve existing and acquire new professional skills and abilities in the light of modern requirements of pedagogical and psychological sciences.

The teacher must, during the academic year or another period of time, deal in depth with the problem, the solution of which causes certain difficulties or which is the subject of his special interest.

The teacher's self-education isnecessary condition professional activity. Society has always made and will make the highest demands on the teacher. In order to teach others you need to know more than everyone else. The teacher must learn everything all the time, because in the faces of his students in front of him every year the time stages change, the ideas about the world around him deepen and even change. The ability to self-education is not formed along with a diploma pedagogical university. This ability is determined by the psychological and intellectual indicators of each individual teacher, but to no lesser extent this ability is developed in the process of working with sources of information, analysis and introspection, monitoring one's own activities and the activities of one's colleagues.

However, no matter how high the teacher's ability to self-educate, this process is not always implemented in practice. The reasons that teachers most often name are lack of time, lack of sources of information, lack of incentives, etc. But this is just a manifestation of inertia of thinking and laziness of the mind, since self-improvement should first of all become an integral need.

We define the components of this need, the motives that encourage the teacher to self-education:

Daily work with information.Preparing for a lesson, speech, parent meeting, etc., the teacher needs to search and analyze new information

Desire for creativity.Teaching is a creative profession. A creative person will not be able to work from year to year according to the same yellowed lesson plan or scenario, to read the same reports. There must be a desire for more. Work should be interesting and enjoyable.

Rapid growth modern science. Especially psychology and pedagogy.

Changes taking place in societyform the image of the teacher as a "non-modern person".

Competition. It is no secret that many parents, bringing their child to kindergarten, are concerned about what kind of teacher will work with their child.

Public opinion. The teacher is not indifferent to whether they consider him “good” or “bad”. It's a shame to be a bad teacher.

Financial incentive.The category of a teacher, the opinion of the attestation commission, bonuses, allowances, and maybe even titles and government awards- it all depends on the qualifications and skills of the teacher. Without constant assimilation of new knowledge, this cannot be achieved.

Interest . Learning is just fun. As a person who teaches daily, he will not study all the time. Does he have the right to be a teacher then?

Sources of self-education.

What is the essence of the process of self-education?

The teacher independently obtains knowledge from various sources, uses this knowledge in professional activities, personal development and his own life.What are these sources of knowledge, and where to find them?

A television

Newspapers magazines

Literature (methodical, popular science, journalistic, fiction, etc.)

Internet

Video, audio information on various media

Paid courses

Seminars and conferences

Master classes

Events for the exchange of experience

Excursions, theaters, exhibitions, museums, concerts

Refresher courses

2. Organization of work on self-education.

An important condition for self-education is properly organized and ongoing work on self-education. Unfortunately, not always and not all teachers have the skills of independent work, the following problems most often arise:

They can not decide on the topic of self-education, highlight its relevance

Cannot formulate the topic of self-education correctly

When selecting literature, they are lost in its abundance. Difficulty making the right choice

When working with methodological literature, they cannot deeply comprehend the material read

Unable to formulate the purpose and objectives of the work

(teachers offer their own solutions to the identified problems)

Possible problem

Solutions

Can't decide on a subject

  • select from the variety of problems that arise from observations of children, the results of diagnostics, analysis of work, etc., the one that is the main one for you and the solution of which could give a stable positive result.
  • determine the relevance of this problem, the prospects and practical significance for improving educational educational process

I can not correctly formulate the topic of self-education, highlight its relevance

When selecting literature, they are lost in its abundance. Difficult to make the right choice

Formulate topics according to the schemes:

  • - SOMETHING as a condition for the development of SOMETHING;

SOMETHING as a means of forming SOMETHING;
- Using SOMETHING as a means (or condition) of development (or formation, education, formation) of SOMETHING

For example: "Role-playing game as a means of developing children's communicative abilities preschool age»

  • The wording from indicating the process under study and the conditions under which it is studied:

Process being studied

Subject of study

and so on.

Cognitive abilities

The ability to do something

Personal qualities

and so on.

In music lessons

On excursions

In the process of learning something

In the process of getting to know something

In gaming activity

and so on.

For example:
"Development of observation in children of senior preschool age during excursions"

Definition of relevance:

Answer the question why this problem need to study today, how important and significant it is for the practice of teaching and educating preschoolers? Novelty may lie in a new solution of issues, affect regional features.

The selection of literature is carried out as follows:

View and review the table of contents, introduction, summary gives general idea about the idea of the book, makes reading meaningful and purposeful;

Answer the question: can I learn what I need from the book by examining the table of contents?

Where to start studying the selected literature:

Start by learning traditional techniques for this problem

Explore current perspectives on the problem

Use the experience of other teachers and preschool educational institutions

When working with methodological literature, I can not deeply comprehend the material read

  • As you read, highlight key words, thoughts, judgments;
  • Write down the most important, in your opinion, in your own wording, using various techniques for recording what you read: summary thoughts, facts, highlight the main thing for yourself with a conditional symbol;
  • Write down questions that arise as you read the source;
  • Use reference books, dictionaries, revealing the main terms and concepts.

I can not formulate the purpose and objectives of the work

Target - this is what you need to get or show as a result of the work.

For example:

Theme "Developing games as a means of forming the cognitive abilities of preschool children"

The purpose of the work: To show the role and importance of educational games in the formation of the cognitive abilities of preschool children.

Tasks - ways to achieve the goal.

Answer the question, what needs to be done to confirm the assumption?

Task formulation scheme:

research activities

explore, analyse, examine,

substantiate

explain,

develop, experimentally test,

prove,

test etc.

Conditions,

3. Results of self-education.

What gives self-education?

Independent work on self-education allows you to replenish and concretize your knowledge, to carry out a deep and detailed analysis of situations that arise in work with children.

A teacher with experience has the opportunity not only to replenish the treasury of his knowledge, but also to find effective, priority methods for developing work with children and parents, to master elementary diagnostic and research activities.

In addition, teachers develop a need for constant replenishment of pedagogical knowledge, flexibility of thinking is formed, the ability to model and predict the educational process, and creative potential is revealed.

Result

Every activity is meaningless if it does not create a product, or there are no achievements. What can be the results of self-education?

  • Improving the quality of work carried out with children;
  • Development of abstracts, programs, scenarios, manuals
  • Reports, speeches
  • Development didactic materials, visibility
  • Developing and conducting open classes on our own technologies
  • Seminars, consultations, master classes
  • Generalization of work experience on the problem (topic) under study, etc.

Also, the results of self-education are professional competence, a high general cultural level of the teacher.

Dear colleagues, I wish you good luck!

    Topics for self-education by teachers can be selected taking into account individual experience and professional skills. They are always associated with the predicted result (what we want to change) and are aimed at achieving qualitatively new results of work.

    The topic for self-education is chosen by the teacher, based on his difficulties in any area of work or in accordance with the area of his interests.

    Unfortunately, not always and not all teachers have the skills of independent work. The most common problems are:

    They cannot decide on the topic of self-education, highlight its relevance;

    They cannot correctly formulate the topic of self-education;

    When selecting literature, they are lost in its abundance, find it difficult to make the right choice;

    When working with methodological literature, they cannot deeply comprehend the material read;

    Cannot formulate the purpose and objectives of the work.

    We offer our solutions to the identified problems:

    Table 1

    Possible problem

    Solutions

    Unable to decide on the topic of self-education

    ñ select from the variety of problems that arise from observations of children, the results of diagnostics, work analysis, etc., the one that is the main one for you and the solution of which could give a stable positive result

    ñ determine the relevance of this problem, the prospects and practical significance for improving the educational process.

    They cannot correctly formulate the topic of self-education, highlight its relevance.

    When selecting literature, they are lost in its abundance. Difficult to make the right choice.

    Formulate topics according to the schemes:

    SOMETHING as a condition for the development of SOMETHING;

    SOMETHING as a means of forming SOMETHING;
    - The use of SOMETHING as a means (or condition) of development (or formation, education, formation) of SOMETHING.
    For example:
    Role-playing game as a means of developing the communicative abilities of preschool children.

    Definition of relevance:
    Answer the question: why does this problem need to be studied today, how important and significant is it for the practice of teaching and educating preschoolers? Novelty may lie in a new solution of issues, affect regional features.

    ñ The selection of literature is carried out as follows:
    - viewing and review of the table of contents, introduction, summary gives a general idea of the book's intent, makes reading meaningful and focused;
    - answer the question: can I learn from the book what I need by studying the table of contents?
    Where to start studying the selected literature:
    - start with the study of traditional methods for this problem;
    - study modern views on the problem;
    - use the experience of other teachers and preschool educational institutions.

    When working with methodological literature, they cannot deeply comprehend the material read.

    ñ As you read, highlight key words, thoughts, judgments;

    ñ Write down the most important, in your opinion, in your own wording, using various methods of recording what you read: a summary of thoughts, facts, highlight the main thing for yourself with a conditional symbol;

    ñ Write down questions that arise as you read the source;

    ñ Use reference books, dictionaries, revealing the main terms and concepts.

    Cannot formulate the purpose and objectives of the work.

    The goal is what you need to get or show as a result of the work.
    For example:

    A model for maintaining a self-education plan is proposed (see Appendix 1 and Appendix 2).

    At the end of the academic year, all teachers draw up a report on the work done on the topic of self-education and speak with it at the final teachers' council. (See Appendix 3).

    Results of self-education

    Purposeful independent work on self-education allows you to replenish and concretize your knowledge, to carry out a deep and detailed analysis of situations that arise in working with children. A teacher with experience has the opportunity not only to replenish the treasury of his knowledge, but also to find effective, priority methods for developing work with children and parents, to master elementary diagnostic and research activities. In addition, teachers develop a need for constant replenishment of pedagogical and psychological knowledge, the flexibility of thinking is formed, the ability to model and predict the educational process, and creative potential is revealed.

    The teacher of a preschool educational institution (preschool educational institution) is one of the professions that involves constant self-education. Modern preschoolers different from those that were, for example, ten years ago. For this reason, the educator must organize his activities in a different way, introduce new techniques into his work, innovative technologies In a word, develop. At the same time, he must take into account the requirements of federal state educational standards (FSES), as well as provide annual reporting in accordance with the chosen plan and topic.

    Assistance to the teacher of a preschool institution in planning work on self-education

    Assistance to the educator in his self-improvement is one of the conditions for the successful activity of any preschool organization. Although the initiative should come primarily from the teacher himself, the assistance of the methodologist (or senior teacher) also plays an important role in the issue of self-improvement. It helps to solve complex or interesting issues of a particular teacher.

    The methodologist formulates a topic for self-education, designates specific goals, tasks, organizes the work of the teacher for a certain period (sometimes for several years at once), assists in the phased implementation of the plan, and also helps to evaluate the effectiveness of the activity.

    Annual professional competitions are held for educators

    If it is problematic for the educator to decide on the topic, the methodologist conducts individual conversations with him, as an option - asks. The methodologist constantly advises colleagues, offering the most relevant methodological sources.

    The official title of the position of a methodologist is the deputy head / director for educational and methodological work (senior educator / teacher). In most cases, the terms “methodologist” and “senior educator” are synonymous, but it happens that these are two separate positions in the team, and then the senior educator is responsible for part of the groups and reports to the methodologist. Until 1984, in Russia there was also the position of "educator-methodologist" with similar duties.

    In addition, the methodologist evaluates the activities of educators by attending classes and other events for the organization of preschool education (for example, walks, security activities), and then helps to summarize the work (arranges consultations for employees, makes a report at the teachers' council, organizes open viewings).

    Tasks of self-education of a teacher in accordance with federal state educational standards (FSES)

    The essence of self-education is the ability to independently acquire new knowledge, as well as acquire skills within the framework of one's profession.

    Self-education of a preschool teacher involves solving such problems as:

    • analysis of the age characteristics of the group;
    • problem identification;
    • introduction of the latest pedagogical developments into practical activities;
    • organization of the educational process, taking into account the development of technology and the current requirements of society.

    Forms of self-education of a kindergarten teacher

    Self-education of a teacher of a preschool organization is a multifaceted and diverse activity that is implemented in various forms. Let's highlight the main ones:

    • work with modern regulatory documents related to various aspects of preschool education;
    • study of methodological literature on your topic, including reading special magazines on the education of preschoolers (for example, "Educator of a preschool educational institution", "Preschool education", "Child in kindergarten", "Hoop");
    • mastering the latest pedagogical technologies, classical and innovative programs, getting to know the best practices of other preschool institutions;
    • personal self-improvement.

    The methodologist of a preschool institution regularly holds pedagogical meetings (teachers' councils), where all topical issues related to the upbringing and education of children in this kindergarten are discussed. They need to be built in such a way that each educator can learn something new and useful for their work on them. During the teachers' council, it is desirable not only to discuss theoretical issues, but also to conduct trainings, analyze each other's experience.

    In addition, within the framework of the teachers' councils, the senior educator can consult for his colleagues on the review of new methodological literature, familiarization with regulations and so on. Note that it is also possible to involve a speech therapist in such work, medical worker, as well as a child psychologist (if he is in a children's institution).

    Work in kindergarten requires teamwork and creativity from teachers

    Another form of self-improvement of teachers is a training seminar, which can be organized both within the kindergarten and at the level of the district methodological association. At such an event, educators train their pedagogical skills.

    Periodically, all specialists of a preschool institution must take refresher courses, which usually involve the preparation and defense of a graduation project. The decision to send to such courses and choose the most relevant program for a particular teacher is made jointly with the management. It is important that educational institution The person conducting the courses was licensed accordingly.

    Open views are important for the self-education of a kindergarten teacher. They are useful both for the one who conducts the lesson (the teacher demonstrates his own achievements) and for the audience (they borrow pedagogical experience, learn to analyze what they see).

    Reporting documentation (workbook, folder)

    Self-education of the educator is consistent with state standards and involves the maintenance of certain documentation. The teacher starts a methodical folder, where he collects useful articles on the chosen topic, interesting abstracts of directly educational activities, samples of fiction (if the topic is related to it), riddles, photos from events, and so on.

    You can become a Methodist music director who has mastered additional functionality

    Be sure to develop a work plan for self-education for the year: this helps to optimally organize future activities, bring it into a coherent system. When drawing up a plan, the topic is first written, then an explanatory note, which substantiates the relevance of the topic. Then all the annual work is signed: familiarization with the current methodological literature, activities with children, as well as parents. Note that at the end of the school year (May), the teacher also reflects his experience in writing, drawing up a special folder. The teacher places there photocopies of articles, consultations, descriptions of experiments, notes of classes with preschoolers, and so on.

    It should be noted that self-education should not be perceived only as filling out notebooks, plans, preparing consultations, designing stands, etc. First of all, this is stimulation professional growth and personal development of the teacher.

    In addition to the annual plan, there is also a long-term plan for education, which outlines work on a specific topic for several years to come.

    It is also the responsibility of the teacher to regularly fill out a notebook for his self-education. There are notes about the activities carried out:

    • with pupils (for example, direct educational activities);
    • with parents (designing memos, stands, preparing consultations);
    • with teachers (report at the teachers' council, etc.);
    • about other components of the self-education process (for example, the educator read a certain book on the topic, purchased a visual aid, attended an event).

    Note that such a notebook, as a rule, is filled in in an arbitrary form, for example, with a table.

    The specifics of self-education of a methodologist, senior educator

    The preschool methodologist is also engaged in self-improvement activities, so he must be well aware of all the latest developments in the field of preschool education. Indeed, for other teachers, the methodologist is a kind of expert in the field of what is printed and published in Lately By preschool pedagogy. On the shelves of shops now you can find a lot of literature that does not meet scientific requirements.

    The methodologist, like all educators, must periodically improve their skills. Every year he works on a specific topic, on which he draws up a corresponding plan. The goals, objectives of the activity, a list of specific aspects of self-improvement, and expected results are prescribed there.

    As for reporting on the work performed, it is often issued in the form of a presentation. Also, a specialist can prepare a report for presentation at the regional methodological association.

    Topics for self-education of a kindergarten teacher according to GEF for different groups

    The teacher chooses a topic for self-education, taking into account his individual experience and level of professional development. It should always be aimed at some specific result, raising the process of education and training to a qualitatively new level.

    The methodologist should not rush to impose the topic on the educator: in a personal conversation, he finds out which aspects are of most interest to the teacher and what is difficult for him. At the same time, the chosen topic should be relevant, and the work on self-improvement should organically flow into the pedagogical process of the entire preschool institution.

    Sometimes it is allowed to unite several teachers of one kindergarten in work on one topic, especially if it is close in content to one of the tasks of the annual plan of the entire preschool institution. Another option is if the organization is preparing for innovative or experimental activities.

    Summarizing the above, we can identify the following areas in the subject for self-education:

    • any of the current annual tasks of the preschool organization;
    • a question that causes difficulties for the educator;
    • deepening knowledge and expanding the existing skills of the teacher.

    In addition, the topic must be chosen taking into account the age characteristics of the group of preschoolers with which the teacher works. For example, for the teacher of the nursery and the second junior group, the following topics will be relevant:

    Presentation of results and their application in practice

    An activity does not make much sense if it does not lead to the final product or achievements. The value of knowledge gained in the course of self-education lies in its use in practice (the so-called practical output). These are master classes for other specialists, open viewings, various projects, conducting circles, entertaining and educational events. This also includes the compilation of a card index (artistic works, experiments), an album (for example, on non-traditional drawing), the organization of an exhibition of pupils' works. In addition, practical results include abstracts, reports, consultations for parents and colleagues.

    The presentation of the results can be like this: a photo presentation against the background of musical accompaniment.

    The work of an educator, associated exclusively with the development and education of children, involves constant self-education and self-improvement. This process, first of all, should be a creative search, and not be reduced to filling out notebooks and reports. As a result of such purposeful activity, pedagogical skills are growing and there is an additional incentive to work.
